April 2023

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in a junior suite comprising sitting area with kitchenette plus separate bedroom. We were pleased with the accommodation and thought the old convent building was great particularly the breakfast room as well as the internal courtyard. The bathroom was "shower only" (which we prefer), towels were plentiful and there was a towel heater which was a bonus. The toilet was separate which we consider is also more functional. The TV remote had a Netflix button but we could only find the normal French channels (not that that was an issue for us as we rarely watch anyway). The hotel is well situated near the (very clean) old town and onsite parking to drop off luggage was easy to use despite the narrow one-way roads. All the reception staff during our stay were friendly. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would choose it again if we pass through Dijon.

There were a couple of issues which I hope management will address as they have a great property. Firstly, we considered our glassware in the room was not totally clean and decided to use the very small dishwasher to clean them - that was until we checked the filter at the bottom of the washer! If guests using the small in-room cooking facilities (or staff) do not clean the filter between changeovers the room would be better not to have the dishwasher at all. (We took pictures just for the record.) Secondly, on 2 of our 4 day stay the breakfast room was sub-standard. Uncleared tables, distinct lack of food (until requested) lukewarm scrambled eggs. On the other 2 days (which were far busier) everything was as it should be. Don't let yourself down Odalys!

Very convenient and spacious appartment in a beautiful refurbished medieval monastery. The accomodation is in a great location, with the beautiful historic old town of Dijon literally right on your doorstep. All the landmark historic sites and buildings of Dijon are within walking distance. A public parkhouse is very close to Odalys - a few minutes away on foot. The appartment is spacious and well equipped; comfort level is good. Breakfast is excellent and of good quality. The staff is very kind, friendly, and helpfull. Although situated in the middle of town the location is an oasis of quiet and tranquility. We enjoyed our 3-day stay very much.

Beds / matrasses could do with an upgrade. No air-conditioning.

great location - comfortable rooms. we really loved the inner courtyard of the hotel, beautiful

during our stay, there was a fire alarm in the hotel at 3am in the night. after alarms ringing for 10min approx., and guests leaving the rooms in their Pyjamas, all turned out to luckily be a system mistake. Better to have an alarm too much to be on the safe side (so not an issue as such), but in our view the hotel team could have done a bit better job in informing the guests who were clearly a bit lost about what was happening. asking the next day at the reception, we just got a annoyed “shoulder shrug”without much understanding that this issue had robbed most of the nights sleep for the paying guests.

To our surprise, our room was two stories with living / kitchenette on the main and bedroom / bathroom upstairs. That was fun. It would make a good longer term stay location. We were there for only one night. The bathroom was very fresh and clean. A full breakfast was included in a separate dining room.

There was no air conditioning so we utilized the two fans. We walked from the train station and although doable it was a challenge with luggage and the heat. Fortunately, I had Google map walked the streets beforehand so I was able to recognize landmarks.

The staff were multi-lingual and very helpful, arranging storage of our luggage as we arrived before we could access our room. The wifi was good and the room quite spacious, with a well lit bathroom. The arrangement of the hotel facilities around the medieval quadrangle maintaining original details is very good. Breakfast buffet was good, if somewhat chaotic

The breakfast room was extremely loud and the buffet was not very practically laid out in the dining room. The queues for coffee from the coffee machines were long at peak times. It would have been lovely to have had tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Location was very central. Parking was at St Annes public underground parking which we felt was safe & secure & just 5 minutes walk away - was also good value at 20 euros for approx 40 hour parking. Room was very spacious with small kitchenette - useful for preparing own breakfast/ light dinner for 2. Kettle for hot drinks was a good point

Could do with some cereal bowls - there wasn't anything like that amongst the kitchen items. Possibly even some form of tea towel to dry stuff with.

The place is in a great location with everything close, you can walk everywhere. They don't have parking but a garage is available in the area. We did not take breakfast as our 16 Euro per person it pretty firm for a family of 5 (bakery around the corner). We did not get the family room(it had water damage) , but we got nice alternative rooms. Great little dishwasher in the room.

We could do with glasses and cups, but all in all a nice visit with friendly receptionists and a nice new building.

Handy location, close to tourists' attractions; museums, churches, mustard shop, the town's main square. A few minutes walk to the bus stop, where we could catch a free shuttle bus running regularly in the City Centre. Room was quiet and spacious. Breakfast was all organic and delicious. Beautiful courtyard.

I was a bit disappointed with room decor. It was too plain, not matching to the exterior. Kitchen was basic and no tea towels.

I mostly appreciated the position of the hotel, the personnel, who were exceedingly kind and responsive (Mary who helped from booking to ordering taxi and accommodating, for a few days, the partner accompanying me), and the breakfast, which I must say, was remarkably diverse, healthy, and good. I had my apart room quite classy, with a window, with a living room and a bathroom on the main floor and a bedroom upstairs, it was nice, cosy, having everything at my disposal.

A little minus is that most due to the small interval between checkouts and check-ins, I found the coffee machine full of coffee from the precedent guests, but I assume this is not on the cleaning staff, but also on individuals who do not clean after themselves before checkout. I totally recommend this hotel, and whenever I come back, I will choose the same accommodation.

Breakfast was very good. The rooms spacious and the location ideal for exploring Dijon. The courtyard with the old tree and the historic building with the arcades was lovely.

The staff, one person in particular, was very unfriendly to our children, she was watching our kids constantly like a police women, telling them off for nothing! Our children are far away from being "angels", nevertheless, the way this person talked to us and the children for no reason, was just impertinent - "c'est le ton qui fait la musique". So watch out families with children, it is not really child friendly (exepct for children who don't move, talk, play or run). From this perspective I would no book a stay there anymore.
