The free on site parking was very convenient. The prices in the bar and for the sharing platters were very reasonable. The room had all that we needed and being able to forgo having our room made up in exchange for a glass of wine was a very good idea. ( We only stayed 2 nights). We were able to see the sights of Lille by walking from there.

The room was very small and one of our rooms had a nasty smell from time to time. There was no inside bar area so all drinks had to be taken outside . .not so good when it was windy and wet but lovely when it was sunny ( and we had all weathers!)

Everything about this hotel shouts quality. It is really brilliant being the former home of of a very rich person from yesteryear. It is in a humble area of Lille and at first glance seems to be a factory but wait till you enter the main entrance where coaches and horses would ofload their passengers. All the walls are exactly as they were when occupied and they with the location of the restaurant are outstanding, The rooms are modern and spacious. Do not be put of by the facade. The staff are very informative and know the history of it and we would certainly stay there again.

It is a little difficult to find but we got there. Well worth the effort

Lovely old building with original decorative features inside. Comfortable and modern room. As we complied with the green policy in place, of not needing new towels, we had a free drink each day. Staff friendly and helpful. Food smelled amazing but the restaurant was fully booked so didn't get a chance to try the food. Secure free car park.

Room was nice (the lift was silent, btw) - staff were very helpful and efficient and the breakfast was great. Key to us was parking - this is one of the few hotels in Lille where parking is free and unlimited, and we wanted to leave the car for a couple of days to just walk around the city.

The location isn't brilliant - not the hotel's fault as a large development is underway to improve the area. It's also a little bit on the outskirts if town (15 mins walk to the belfry), but that's the compromise of having free parking

Above all, the reception staff is super duper helpful. They make up for most of the downsides of the hotel. Parking space was very helpful for us.

Our room was congested. They could have done without the table/chair. There was not enough space to fit everything in that room. It's located at 20min walk from city centre but it's in a not so great neighborhood/street. Room cleaning on one of the days during our stay wasn't good (towels were replaced, bed made but not otherwise cleaned).

The staff were great, from the one who checked me in to the exceptional young lady that tried to open the room safe as it was locked on arrival, she could not do it with the keys she was told about, but got it all sorted and opened for me while I was eating dinner. The restaurant staff were great were all happy and smiley which can be rare in some places.

The bathroom fan did not work especially well, which maybe why the room smelt very musty every time the door was opened.

Room very comfortable and clean. Hotel has some beautiful rooms, the dining room is exquisite. Staff were very helpful at check in. 30 minutes walk and we were in the heart of Lille.

The area of the hotel seems a little run down in places with beggars on the junctions. Not sure if there is a hostel or something just along the street. We did have 4 drunks arguing outside our bedroom window at 6am, but this could happen in any city location I guess.

- Bed was too soft - No kettle in room but staff provided hot water - Room was tiny for a double, only just enough room to walk around the bed - We stayed over Easter so it was unusually expensive I think - Bathroom only shower and was a little cheap in vibe, like the seal round the door was loose

The hotel itself is beautiful, not some cookie-cutter dump like some of the hotels near the train stations, etc., and I very much appreciated that. The employees were great, on the whole -- polite, accommodating, and competent. And my room was a nice size, very well-appointed with high ceilings and a decent air conditioning unit. The bed and bedding were both of good quality. I ate breakfasts at the hotel each morning and one time for dinner. Food was solid, not spectacular...but good.

The immediate neighborhood I wouldn't be wandering around in after sundown. It was not horrible, but rough...as there are multitude public housing projects nearby. I was approached for money or cigs four times in my afternoon walk to and from "Red Park," and while no one was overtly menacing, I certainly stood out as someone who didn't really belong in the neighborhood, and that gave me pause re: going out at night without car or cab.

The staff is excellent, friendly - helpful, welcoming, warm. Very nice team. Just for this - it is worth coming :) The breakfast is varied and well managed. The terrace is nice and most of all: I could park for free on the premises!

My room was so small that I couldn't place my suitcase anywhere, and had to empty it on an inconvenient shelf and desk. The bed and pillows were too hard.
