Amazing decor throughout. Our bedroom felt luxurious and we loved having a hand basin each. The dining room had a fantastic collection of tiered cake plates and other gorgeous china.The breads and sweets available were excellent. Reception staff were professional and attentive. The breakfast host was outstanding and made us so welcome, with coffees on demand. Great location, right on the square.

I loved my very traditional French room which overlooks the Place Belcour and with a view of the basilique. The location was perfect allowing most exploration on foot. The petit déjeuner and salle de manger plus the gallery of photos and paintings were wonderful. The hotel was very clean throughout. All except one receptionist were wonderful and willing to speak to me in French. Nothing was too much trouble for them. (One receptionist was somewhat rude and said I should speak English as it is faster. He also was dismissive when I said a nearby brasserie which he'd suggested wasn't so good afterall.

Staff were all superb. Very friendly. Very helpful. Absolutely loved the room. Shower was superb. My wife loved the bath too although a tadge difficult to get out as it’s so deep. Breakfast room was wonderfully quirky & eccentric. Absolutely would go back at a drop of a hat. 4/5 star luxury at a 3 star cost. Superb value.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t like the steps going up to reception but that’s the only thing that comes anywhere something that could be called dislike. Maybe the room could have had a little more natural light but it really wasn’t an issue whatsoever.

The room was fantastic, a truly unique experience. A cozy space, we both slept incredibly well. Very quiet and peaceful. The location couldn't be anymore central, so we walked everywhere. Shopping and dining, Lyon has you covered. Explore the streets off the main pedestrianised area for the best boutiques and restaurants. The staff at Bayard Bellecour were exceptionally helpful, chapeau!

Only a couple of small things to bear in mind. At least in our room, the shower and bath were in an open space, which meant taking a shower was kind of messy, it was so easy for water build up on the floor. Otherwise we can't recommend this hotel enough. We would definitely stay again.

What a delightful discovery in the heart of Lyon. My stay at Hotel Bayard Bellecour exceeded all expectations. The vintage charm of this Place Bellecour gem instantly won me over. My room felt like stepping into Lyon's elegant past, while offering perfect modern comfort. What truly made my stay special was Esel at reception. Her warm welcome and insider tips led me to hidden Lyon treasures I would've never found on my own. The entire staff seemed handpicked to match the hotel's authentic character. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made me feel completely at home. Perfect location, incredible atmosphere, and exceptional service. This isn't just a hotel, it's a slice of true Lyon life. Already planning my return to Bayard.

The Hotel Bayard Bellecourt was an incredible experience that transported us to the time when travelling was about experiences, more than about comfort, and when visiting a new city meant exploring and being exposed to surprises. We loved how this small family owned hotel has opted for keeping the old spirit of the hotel, allowing guests to feel travellers and not tourists. Rooms have an incredible charm, staff is very welcoming and the breakfast was a beatiful experience. The hotel may not be for everyone, since the original style of the rooms may have some inconviences (e.g. open baths/showers), but for us it provided us with a magical experience. We will return! Thanks for all the staff for making the experience unique.

Nothing to highlight. The rooms facing the main street may be a little bit nosier than the ones facing the internal courtyard, but it was nothing that impacted the experience.

We had a room for two nights and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was nice and clean, althought a little bit dark. However, the decoration was beyond beautiful and it made for a relaxing time. We loved the teapot inside the room, too. The beds were comfortable, and the room had enough space for our suitcase and all out things (we were two). The toilet and the shower were separated, which is quite convenient. All in all, we loved the room! But the best part was the staff. They speak English and they are pleasant, polite and helpful. The reception is 24h and they were always ready to help us! Another small thing is that they offered free bottled water for each room, a warm welcoming detail.

The only thing I'd recommend is bringing earplugs just in case. The wooden decorations might be noisy at night, as it was the case once for us, since we could hear people walking upstairs.

The hotel Bayard Bellecour is beautiful! There is an underground parking lot not far from the hotel. You can park in front and take your bags in, then go park. There is a set of stairs to go up to reach the lobby. We were greeted by Stefania, who was wonderful! She checked us in, then showed us to our room and around the hotel. She gave us a map of the city and circled the areas we wouldn't want to miss seeing. Our room was magnificent! It was beautifully decorated. The bed was so comfortable and our room was very clean. We will be staying here whenever we are in Lyon.

The location is perfect. You can walk everywhere. If you prefer, there is a subway station across the street. The rooms are good size by US standard and there is a tub and a shower! The decor and feel is elegant and functional. The staff is very pleasant and very helpful.

There is no elevator to the lobby, so while we were on the first floor, carrying the luggage was a few trips. The bathroom is very cold in the morning. Maybe a towel warmer could take the chill out. There is no special rate for the garage (public) if you plan on bring a car (which you really do not need in the city)

The staff made this place as far as we were concerned. They were so helpful and informative. The location was excellent, and the hotel was like the Tardis! The dining area was a surprise as was The Throne room! The hotel is quaint and full of history and character.

We realise it is because of the age of the building that the entry can't be changed, but it was less than welcoming. The shower leaked on the floor and there wasn't a waste pipe for the water to escape. The room was tiny which allowed very little space for two large suitcases or to be able to walk along the base of the bed. The ac was not effective. A heavy douvet was not necessary at this time of year. Perhaps the alternative of a blanket or summer weight blanket would be advantageous. Despite all these negatives, we still enjoyed our stay.
