Room was a good size with large beds. Location was good but not if you're traveling by car. Breakfast was basic but good value for money for the very small charge and food was fresh. Bonus was the room had a little balcony, which was unexpected. Rooms had air con. Nice bathrooms.

Room was noisy. It sounded like we had a washing machine or something like that above us running almost continuously (it wasn't the air con). However, we were so tired, we slept through it. Chose the hotel because it said it had parking but that was quite a walk from the hotel (5 to 10 mins walk). A long way to carry suitcases with no area to drop off cases as in a pedestrianised zone.

- Having extra pillows and an additional blanket, with a decent size bed. - Room was clean and service came every day. - Decent size shower cabin (even for larger folks). - Enough storage space to put your clothes. - Location was good in my opinion, close to the subway, bus and within walking distance of some of the tourist frequented areas.

- Weird and very potent food smell every morning, from 6 AM (smell of bacon) in room 405 anyway. - Toilets worked, but functioned in the weird US-like fashion (half-full of water every time). - No trashcan in the room (just in the bathroom).

From the hotel, Vieux Lyon is easy to reach on foot. For attractions that are farther away, like the parc Tete d'Or, metro stations are also close by. The hotel offers spacious rooms with a distinguished charm. The marble chimney in our room was a small work of art from past times. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. La Residence is perfect for exploring the beautiful Lyon.

The hotel doesn't have its own parking but public and private parkings are not far away. However, parking can be expensive in Lyon so check your options in advance if you travel by car. Some private parkings will require a reservation.

The location is excellent. Int he heart of Bellecour square. And the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. They provide us with french sockets adapter also as well. The room was pretty clean and the bathroom too. Hotel is small but not noisy. We requested the room with balcony so we got it without charge. Also very sweet.

Be ready to eat the same breakfast everyday of your staying. It was boring a bit. buffet food selection was poor. Croissants, baguette, butter, salami and turkey. Some yogurts and a bit of regular fruits. They dont provide with any vegetables or omelette so if you are following diet you must to buy something for yourself in supermarket.

Location and very good value for price. Comfortable beds. Easy to walk to the bridges and the old part of Lyon and along Presqu'ille to the more commercial area. Reception and lift. It was cheaper than a self catered apartment I had previously booked, which did not have reception or a lift.

We skipped breakfast and went to Paul and Eric Kayser down Rue Victor Hugo. The hotel itself is outdated and could use a revamp. Who uses real keys that you leave at reception anylonger? The room was a bit narrow for 4 people and our luggage. It was very warm in the room (great insulation as it was bitter cold outside!), we turned the heating off and opened the windows. But nothing to complain about, really, I would return to this hotel as it provides great value, 24h reception (to drop luggage for example, unlike apartments) and a great location.

Terrific location on pedestrian only street, yet one can drive on adjacent side road to get to hotel. If lucky, one can score a parking space and use pay parking for an hour or two (parking is very expensive in Lyon). Hotel has a discount agreement with a few parking garages and we used Parc Ainay (20 euros per day). This garage had limited hours so be sure you can park when they are open. If you are flying in or taking train, Metro can service your journey to hotel. Nice to be downtown near Vieux Lyone and Presqu'ile districts. Hotel had friendly staff, room was serviced daily, and although we did not have breakfast it looks like it was a full buffet.

It is an older hotel and so there are those qualities one must understand. Door locks are old-style key locks which can be annoying at times. (Upgrade would be nice.) Elevator is small, but functions with no more than three people. Still it works fine.

Fabulous location. Friendly staff. Quiet neighbourhood at night. Lively during the day. Easy to get to from the airport.

The room was a bit stuffy in the heat of late summer. Good AC, but I don’t like to use it when sleeping. Like a lot of older buildings, slight smell of sewage in the bathrooms. Ineffective traps. Towels are really thin. It’s a three star hotel, but better towels can’t be that much!

We liked the hotel very much. Located very close to the Place Bellecour squire, is actually walking distance from the old city and central streets. Located on the pedestrian street, you can not park the car near, but they recommend few secure parking lots and we parked in walking distance from the hotel for 20 euro per day, reasonable i believe; you can o and come back, but we actually did not need the car due to location. Room is spacious, excellent shower, white sheets, good wi-fi. We were is quadrupole room family of 4, with two grown up children, had a double bed and two single beds, it would help to have some kind of separation in the room, but its not critical. We ate breakfast at the hotel, very nice, small dining room but you have everything you need.

everything was good

Well maintained charming hotel on pedestrian street in older neighborhood on island w easy walking access to sights, shops, restaurants. & subway. Staff very kind— offering me a room on the quiet inner courtyard. Lovely room w big window, very clean & quiet. Breakfast optional for 10E.

I should have asked, but when checking in told breakfast times & location & mistakenly assumed complementary. My mistake

La Residence is located on a pedestrian street free of cars and full of shops! Close to metro and tourist spots. It has a 24hr desk service. Room was clean, looked renovated. Big TV, safe for storage, separate toilet from bathroom. Also had a small balcony. We had a family room with 2 double beds.Great value for money. We enjoyed our one night stay and would happily choose La Residence again.

Room could've been larger but was fine for.our one night stay. Elevator eas a little small, had a 3 person capacity.
