Hotel Villa Les Cygnes

Clean, comfortable, large and the balcony was a plus. There was a small fridge in the room, but it was not very deep, so more for yoghurt, cheese and medicines than for bottles of wine or anything large/opened. I could keep some bottles of water in it, on their sides unopened. It was close to the Tramway, bus, shops, cafes. Musee Beaux des Arts and the beach/Promenade des Anglais. It had a lovely garden and the toiletries supplied I thought very pleasant. There was much needed air conditioning Nicholas greeted all guests with a free bottle of cold water (very much appreciated) and showed you on a map where you were and how to get to places (short cuts for walking, tram and bus stops etc).

I really missed a kettle (there was a coffee pod machine downstairs on a honesty payment system) and hot water in a mini urn in the morning and 6.00pm at night, but it was not the same! The TV (there was a DVD player also) had just French options, and there were no notes, in English or French, for how to switch to the DVD.... It was a quiet area (which suited me, but possibly not those wanting to roll in very late at night). It was up a hill/steps, so coming from the tramway to the hotel, with luggage, was a tough ask, so I paid for a taxi when moving luggage. Rooms 5 and 6 are upstairs and the kitchen is downstairs, so you may want to consider this if stairs are an issue.

Needed a place where we could work comfortably for a couple days and then explore Nice for a few days. This hotel was a great option. Evocative historic maison, but had all the necessary modern amenities - comfortable bed, fast wifi, plus a nice little balcony area to catch the afternoon sun. It's a quick walk to the promenade and maybe 10-15 minutes to Le Negresco - anything in the city is walkable from here. Nicholas was a thoughtful and attentive host.

We were very happy with it. Whatever wasn't available on-site (it's a small place, so things like laundry, baggage storage), Nicholas helped us find.

Very attentive owner, eager to help, friendly and fun to chat to. The room was large and with windows on two sides it was full of light. There were two chairs - rare in double rooms - and a big, spotless bathroom. The bed was comfortable and overall it was good value. The garden was pleasant to sit in.

Being British, a kettle in the room would have been nice but hot water was available downstairs so it wasn't a big deal.

Loved everything about this cozy, homely hotel! The host was superb, very helpful and friendly, the location is great, not touristic, nice and quiet, but if you want to go to the beach or boulevard it’s only a short (and very nice) walk. We had a spacious room with a lot of light coming in and a nice balcony, the bathroom was huge and also filled with light. There is also a beautiful garden where you can sit and enjoy the sun. We will definitely come back again!

The hotel was very nice, small and quiet. Room was comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was good sized and also very clean. Airconditioning was helpfull because of very hot weather. Breakfast wasn't included at the room price so you needed to buy it separate (11 € / person), but it was worth it. Breakfast was served in a small garden in the backyard of the hotel. The hotel was located in very peacefull area. The hotel was a bit far from restaurants and especially the old city. But still reachable by foot. If you don't want to walk you can use trumway line 2, nearest stop is about 200 m from the hotel. The same line comes and goes to/from the airport.

The Hotel Villa Les Cygnes is a gem! Our room was large and we totally enjoyed the verranda! Bathroom was our own personal spa-like room. We opted for the breakfast of fresh bread and cheeses, eggs and yogurt most mornings. Our host, Nicholas, greeted us warmly each day and inquired about our plans for the day and made heplful recomendations. Would definitely stay here again!!

Honestly wouldn't change a thing. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The house is located in a beautiful part of Nice and allows the romantic retreat with very easy access to the waterfront and town . What made this very special for us was the TLC received from Nicolas who was there to welcome us , despite late arrival and the lovely exchanges on what we needed as information for the day to make it most enjoyable. The House Garden and the room with view of the garden was amazing. The breakfast all one could want for at the French Riviera. So in essence a gem that we were lucky to find ! Thank you for the wonderful , special stay !

There is nothing not to like

We liked the boutique feel of the hotel and the very large room/bathroom. The location was also very quiet which we appreciated. The free parking reserved for hotel guests in front of the property was also very convenient.

Internet connection was weak but not a big deal as we didn't need it for work.

A peaceful location next to the stunning museum of arts, only a 5mins walk to the tram station or a 20mins walk into town centre. The room is spacious with a huge bathroom both filled with light. Exceptionally clean!

No coffee machine or kettle in the room and not many decent restaurants close by.

The host was very friendly and helpful in all respects. It’s a beautiful building which has been thoughtfully adapted with a glorious shower and brilliant bed. The breakfast is served to you in the garden and is a perfect continental plus - with high quality items

Nothing. It’s a small hotel that relies on quiet so perhaps not the place for a young, boisterous family.
