Location was near to centre of old town easy for getting around Nîmes. Staff were exceptional particularly the 24hour desk service. Cleaning staff were exceptional. Cleanliness of room was superb. Breakfast was a good variety of continental breakfast, eggs and bacon as hot option. The staff were quick to sort out an issue with the bath tap.
The area was a bit dodgy in the evening. I wouldn’t recommend it for a single traveller but the hotel itself was very safe and secure, with 24/7 staff at the entrance. More options of hot food would have been good. The bath was a bit narrow so could have done with a grab rail.

A lovely building full of history with friendly staff and well located for the historical centre of Nimes. The breakfasts were good, the room clean and well appointed and all in all it was a lovely hotel.
We would have liked an English speaking TV channel, i.e. BBC World New, but that's a very minor quibble. The bath was also a little narrow! It would have been lovely to have been able to know more about the hotel, maybe a note in the info folder in the room about it?

The immediate surroundings outside the hotel are not the most glamorous, though the hotel itself is delightful once you've found it and are inside. The staff were really helpful and even upgraded us to a posher room. Within a few minutes walk is the historic centre of Nîmes and it's less than 10 minutes walk to the amphitheatre.
The entrance is located in a maze of narrow one-way streets with nowhere to stop a car that doesn't block the road. There is no parking close to the hotel - the nearest is a multi-storey at the end of the street, about 5 minutes walk away. The parking is expensive!

Marquis de la Baume is a hotel of welcoming smiles. Every member of this hotel's small and very special staff, helped and helped and smiled. We had such a good stay. Everything on the website is true - this is a top of the range four star hotel. The continental breakfast is much more than that ... with hot savoury and every breakfast item was quality. Its location in the centre of Nimes' old city is perfect - a short walk from The Arena, the Temple, the Roman fountain gardens. The central station is on the east edge of old city. The narrow lanes of the old centre, full of independent shops and eateries are worth a visit on their own. We have still to visit the three museums and lots of other offering. There is a Quaker (religious) House in the village of Congenies ... I visited by taxi who waited thirty minutes and brought me back. It was a very reasonable cost. Thank you Nimes, thank you Marquis de la Baume.

The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel is situated in an historic building and has very interesting features. Our room was very clean and comfortable although not particularly large. We had breakfast at a local cafe most mornings but on the last morning we tried the hotel buffet breakfast which was adequate. We could walk to the centre of town in about 10 minutes.
The hotel was quite difficult to find from the station and it's back street location was a bit underwhelming.

Polite, very friendly and professional reception staff. Room was large, comfortable and very well maintained. Breakfast was good.. Baguettes, croissants, cheeses, yoghurts, cakes etc..... only one cereal available though (muesli) I think a hot breakfast was available too.. Hotel was only 250 metres from the start of the olde town shopping streets and the clocktower.
Cleaners cupboard was right outside our hotel room door, so when the cleaner was getting her equipment ready at 7:00am-ish, the noise was loud and echoed through our door.... We didn't intend to awaken at 7am

Staying in the hotel is a true experience! The building is a renovated 16th century villa and staying in it makes you feel like you are part of a fairytale. The rooms are tastefully decorated and there is a high standard of cleanliness that was kept throughout our stay. Both the food served at breakfast and the ambiance of the garden were exceptional. However, our favorite thing was the AMAZING staff, they were helpful with everything we needed and accommodated our preferences. Big thank you to Jerome for exceeding all our expectations. We will fondly remember the trip and we look forward to coming back 😊

This is a very nice hotel. The character was nice with interesting details. The location was very handy for the old town area. The staff were very nice and helpful. The bar was a nice touch not so common now days.
The shower was rubbish to be honest, it was hard to use without swamping the bathroom. It needs replacing with a better unit or just put a walk-in shower in. For this standard of hotel I expect better. The a/c struggled to cool the room.

Fantastic 17th century town house, great location and very friendly staff- nothing was too much trouble Breakfast was fair to good, enough to get going to see the sights of Nimes and surrounding areas Off site parking was 3 mins away at a very reasonable 12E for 24 hrs Fast food available directly opposite the hotel with a good supermarket opposite the car park
Nothing - exceeded expectations

Historic building beautifully restored whilst retaining a sense of history. Reception staff were delightful - quick to please, helpful and friendly. Room for 2 was on the small side but the second room with large bed and quality sofa bed was fabulous. Really central location but off the main tourist streets so quiet during the day and night.
Some floors have additional steps between the lift and the actual rooms - a quirk of being an old building but did make lugging heavy suitcases a little tricky. No parking in front of the hotel, so we also had to lug a LOT of bags from the carpark 2 blocks away back to the hotel - not an issue for those travelling light but was a bit of a pain in our instance.
