Hotel Majestic

It's perfectly located near to the railway station, we're interrailing so that's important to us. It's also in a quiet location, and in a beautiful building with a sweeping staircase. Information about the city, places to eat and visit were provided on arrival, by helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were quick to respond to queries and requests for additional shampoo and loo rolls as we had left the Do not Disturb sign in error so housekeeping had not been able to check. We booked an extra night directly as our travel plans had changed last minute. I would happily stay there again but maybe upgrade the room.

There's not 24 hour reception. Late arrivals have to let themselves in. The optional breakfast was hit and miss. While there was an excellent range of teas, fresh bread, pastries and fruit, the hot components were luke warm. For the same cost we had a far superior breakfast at Farmers, a five minute walk away in the old town. Maybe they stick to a simpler breakfast of bread and pastries at a lower cost in future? Only one towel per person provided. No hand towels, only on request.

A warm welcome in Reception with lots of helpful information & great restaurant recommendations. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station and a short walk to all the sights. Large room, huge bathroom! Breakfast exceeded expectations - much better than the usual basic Continental breakfast in France. I would stay here again.

No hand towel in the bathroom. No one at Reception in the evening although someone available in the building only a phone number away for any requests (but that would be an international call for me). I was told on checking out that Reception should have given me a hand towel when I checked in which seems a bit odd. No lift - not a problem for me but lots of stairs for those with heavy luggage.

Such a warm and hospitable welcome. The only reason I haven't scored top marks in all categories is that as lovely as our bedroom was, room 104, the outside street light is located right next to the bedroom window and shines onto the bed. No blackout curtains. However I have brought this to the attention of the staff so maybe they will install a black out blind behind the curtains or disable the street light! The breakfast was amazing, such a huge choice. I can't wait to stay there again but will give this particular bedroom a miss.

Very nice, smiling and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Perfect location on a very quiet street only a few blocks from the railway station and also very close to the city centre. We were upgraded to a bigger room, which was very nice and had a very good bed. There were also coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Nice temperature in the room. Breakfast was very good for a reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again.

No fridge and no shoe horn in the room. Room was a bit sterile with no paintings or other decoration. No vegetables at breakfast.

A lovely small hotel in a quiet neighborhood but only 5-10 minutes walk from the train station. Very convenient. Staff was very welcoming and kind. Gave excellent local information and suggestions for dining. The room was spacious and very comfortable and cozy. The bed super. Electric kettle in the room with teas, infusions and instant coffee. A nice touch. And Netflix ! A very very nice stay. Thank you !

Facilities and location were good. In particular, the male staff member who helped me was very kind and offered advice on how to get to Pont du Gard.

I arrived around noon and wanted to leave my luggage, but the entrance was closed and I couldn't get in even though I called. An elderly couple other than us had been waiting at the entrance for a while, so I would like to ask them to respond immediately.

This is a clean and well presented hotel. Staff were particularly welcoming and helpful with directions and recommendations. Room was convenient, beautifully decorated and felt very safe. The hotel is close to the station: just a few minutes walk along quiet roads. Nimes is a delightful and walkable city. The old quarter with restaurants was just a short and very pleasant walk away.

There's very little to not like. I wondered if my room might be a little small for two people with luggage. It would be best to check with the hotel for the room size before confirming the booking. I found the room safe not to be working, and staff reacted immediately to get a repair organised.

Very charming hotel in an excellent location downtown, just a couple blocks from the train station in a safe area and a short walk to all the main sights. Very welcoming and friendly staff - my room wasn't quite ready so I was invited to sit in the cute courtyard and they brought me a drink. The room had everything I needed, good air conditioning ( it was hot in June), a comfortable bed and a great view. The bathroom was pretty small but it was clean and had everything I needed.

This did not bother me, but there is no elevator, so those with lots of luggage or mobility issues may want to be aware.

A charming, clean little hotel in an ideal location, a short stroll from both the train station and the historic old city centre. Staff was friendly and helpful, with excellent recommendations for sights and restaurants.

Our shower was up a step, which made getting in and out of it sometimes tricky. Otherwise, we were totally pleased.

I use this hotel quite a bit. It is within easy walking distance of the railway station, but there is no noise from the trains. It is a short walk to the centre, and there are plenty of places to eat in the old town.

Not the fault of the hotel, but there were improvements to the roads going on outside, and you had to watch where you were putting your feet.
