A spotlessly clean hotel by fields on the edge of the marvellous medieval town of Sarlart. Anne-Marie, the hotel owner, was a lovely person - efficient, friendly and attentive to every detail. She and her partner were super hosts, Excellent large varied breakfast buffet is well worth paying for it each day. Large bedroom with separate toilet and bathroom area en suite. All are ground floor bedrooms and our seated terrace area had views across the large lawn to the hillside in distance. Ample free parking. Very steep 15 minute walk down hill to the down and also back - car advisable especially for touring the area which is full of chateaus and many other place of interest. Weather was unseasonably cold - even a frost! There is an outdoor swimming pool for summer use. Our room was warm and cosy and the bed was very comfortable. No evening meals or lunch served but good recommendations given for some of Sarlat's many restaurants.

Anne Marie is exceptional she knows how to look after her clients and makes sure you are comfortable. The swimming pool during the day is always empty so perfect for relaxing. The city is a 5 min ride away by car or motorbike. Walk 15 min down hill but good 30 min walk back up the hill. The room was the new modern ones with comfortable beds and good shower. The breakfast is very good value for 10 euros.

This is my second stay and like everything about this small hotel

We stayed here as a break from our holiday in Issiegeac as we wanted to visit some of the local chateaus.. The weather was extremely hot, so it was lovely to arrive to a friendly welcome. Our room was clean with silent air conditioning and electric shutters. We slept better than we had all holiday! The hotel was quiet with a fabulous pool that we had to ourselves. Breakfast was a light continental was served until 10 am. We would definitely stay there again.

Although the town was only a 10 minute walk down hill, it was actually up to a 25 min walk up hill on the way back. We couldn't face that in the 35 + heat.

It was super clean and modern. The room was very well designed, with a built-in long mirror, lots of shelves and hooks. The bed was big and very comfortable. The shower was big and worked well, and there were coffee and tea making facilities in the room and also a hair dryer. The air conditioner was of very good quality, with a silent mode option.

No door handle, which made it very difficult to open and close without being uncomfortable. There was only one coffee sachet in the room. The shower wash was empty.

The hotel was perfectly situated in a quiet residential area above Sarlat but only 5 minutes drive down to the town. Clean, modern, lovely pool and garden. Delicious breakfast every day and very helpful friendly owner. Easy parking too. Perfect.

For me I would have liked an English news channel on the TV but there was no need to provide that. Very necessary to have a car for the trip to town as about 30 mins walk back up to the hotel after dinner on an unlit road.

We were 2 couples, old friends, one American and one French on a road trip. We used this hotel as our base for 6 nights in the Dordogne as it not far from most of the sites we intended on visiting. We were extremely happy with our stay, starting with our hostess, Anne Marie, who gave us a warm welcome and was especially helpful with recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, even making reservations for us. Our rooms were spotless, nicely sized with beautiful bathrooms and separate toilets. We had a lovely terrace and a view of the grounds. It was too cold to go swimming but the pool looked very inviting. The breakfasts (not included but fairly priced) were very good with lots of choices. We chose this hotel as it seemed to be a calm oasis to relax in after sightseeing and we were not disappointed. This was the by far the best place we stayed in during our 3 week trip in France.

Nothing. Everything exceeded our expectations.

Quiet rooms. Swimming pool terrace adjacent. Lovely quiet garden setting. Only 5 mins drive to centre of Sarlat for wide choice of restaurants at reasonable prices. Breakfast was extra but set us up for the day.

Needed Google Maps as a bit complicated to navigate. No problem after first time. The room terraces would be super in the Summer as they get the evening sun. In October the sun is too far to the South but the swimming pool terrace was a good replacement

The hostess is lovely - a very warm welcome and a comprehensive introduction to the hotel facilities and local area. Rooms and common areas are beautifully presented and to a high standard. The owners are obviously and justifiably very proud of their hotel. The layout is great - all the rooms are ground floor and laid out around the grounds (although you access from reception) so there aren't any stairs to climb and feels more private than some hotels. We booked a 'superior room' which was light and airy with a floor-to-ceiling window access to a lovely terrace and outdoor seating - great for an evening glass of wine in the sunshine while you read you book. We needed a few extras during our stay (plates and knives etc) and the hosts were happy to provide those. The walk up and down the hill to the town is pretty quick (15 minutes or so) but you'll need to be fit to manage the way back up. We enjoyed it, you need a bit of exercise to walk off your meal in town.

I wouldn't change anything

The quietness of the location, the pool, the owner, the breakfast, the provision of cutlery etc if you just fancy a simple picnic on your terrace after a hard day’s sightseeing.

Not a criticism, rather an observation… the hotel is set in a wonderfully quiet location BUT is high on the edge of the town so a car is really needed to go down (AND BACK UP ). We enjoy walking but once down and back was more than enough!

Location is excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable shower was brilliant. Room had air on and heating and good size TV. Outside was a little patio with table and chairs. Anne-Marie was super friendly and helpful. Also spoke great English.
