Breakfast buffet was extensive and good. Location was excellent. The elevator to the old city was right across from the hotel.

The shower was one of those tiny corner/rounded units which was incredibly small. I kept slamming my arms into the sides while trying to wash my hair. Staff were mostly unwelcoming, with a couple of exceptions. Had no flexibility for an earlier check-in. Of course, there are check-in times for a reason but every other hotel I’ve stayed in, after an overnight flight to Europe, has made an attempt to find us a room, or let us know when one was finished with cleaning. Staff kept repeating ‘check in time is 3 pm’ without even trying.

We are staying in the Hotel for 3 nights. We are so happy and lucky to have the very kind and helpful Cathy, Reception manager in the reception when we checked-in. She has tried her very best to show the Hotel’s real welcoming hospitality! Not only she has kindly and thoughtfully helped us with the room, but also with our parking.   Our special thanks also go to Tram who has also helped us lot during our stay. We also very happy with the nice service and help of the housekeeping and restaurant . The hotel is in an excellent location with the free elevator just in the other side of the street to go up to the old town!  The rooms are quite big and the breakfast has a great variety of different choices. Marburg is very beautiful old town and we would love to come back and stay in your hotel again!

The Welcome Hotel has a fantastic, unbeatable location in the very heart of the town of Marburg, Germany. We were in town to attend a friend’s wedding and we never were more than 5-10 minutes walk than all of the event locations. The town of Marburg has a very steep hill in the middle of the town but fortunately there is a free elevator immediately across from the Welcome Hotel. Most of the restaurants and notable attractions are on top of the hill so the elevator was very helpful. In terms of the room itself, the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was a good size but the shower stall was on the smaller side (especially compared to the standard shower stall size in the US). Another highlight of the Welcome Hotel is the very extensive and appetizing breakfast buffet they offer. They have a massive breakfast space for the guests. Things can get a little crowded and chaotic during the peak of the breakfast rush but not too bad. We enjoyed the eggs, various breads and the largest muesli / fruit/ nuts/ yoghurt bar we have seen. Part of the breakfast seating area is outside so it was a treat to dine al fresco.

Something that management should look into addressing is the door between the indoor and outdoor breakfast space. The staff seemed to prop it open for their convenience since the weather was nice and their hands were full of plates being cleared. However, some guests kept closing the door because they might have disliked the breeze (it was actually quite nice). Management should look for an automatic door solution for the sake of their staff.

The room was very comfortable. It had a small office space for me to work, right next to the window. Breakfast was pretty good, with a variety of things to try out every day of my stay. Since the hotel is located in a prime location, I had no problems finding a good restaurant to have my dinner. I would definitely stay here.

There were two sets of towels for a room that had only one person staying. For the environment's sake, I would ask them to keep one set. Also, the lighting in the room could be a couple of shades brighter. The lighting was cosy, but not very conducive for work.

No restaurant Air conditioning wasn't on or did not work (got new room). Bar items limited because the bar Was connected to the lobby desk If you wanted something to drink. (Basically you can say there was no bar) No room service...at 1430 ask a maid to freshen our bed She said no that she was getting off of work ( that is a new one on me).

No air conditioning ,it was very hot ,during the day it was unbearable especially if your room faces the street The bathroom needs some renovations, tab was very small and the glass was broken and the water was coming out.

It was close to all the sights in Marburg and the staff were very friendly. There was parking underneath the hotel. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The price seemed a little high for the location, but overall it was a great hotel.

The price was a little high. We have stayed in a number of comparable hotels throughout Germany at a lower price point.

there is no airconditioning despite the mentioning in description! the rooms are only air cooled by ventilation the receptionists explained. I was offered a room on the 4th floor which was boiling hot. Could switch for a room on the 2nd floor on the other side of the hotel. For breakfast you you are given a time slot, a little bit of a bummer while on holiday.

This is a large, modern hotel at very foot of Marburg with an elevator across the street to get up the "berg" and into the city centre. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well appointed. Staff are friendly and speak good English. Excellent breakfast.

Marburg was unusually warm when I visited; a stronger air conditioning system would have been welcome.

Customer service was very good. Great location. I was very happy when the hotel allowed us to combine a room, because one of our guests couldn’t join us. They added the single guest to a double on a roll away and we were able to cancel the other room. I truly appreciate it! The shower had wonderful water pressure.
