The town is lovely, and the hotel room was nice, especially the balcony. The breakfast was good, and we were allowed to check out an hour later upon request.

I picked this hotel because my 6-year-old kid is a huge fan of sauna, and I knew the hotel had one. We were very disappointed to find out that the only place where he was allowed was a chilly pool. I have no idea why, and it was not mentioned anywhere in the description. The lady from the reception was not very welcoming either when we asked her questions about the facilities.

This hotel is a beautiful Hotel in the grand old tradition style. Everything about it is old school classy. It's not a "modern" hotel but the rooms are lovely and comfortable. Our room had a nice balcony with loungers and flower baskets. The breakfast buffet was a wonderful German style buffet with all the goodies. The hotel is located right on the main walking street and on Sunday morning we walked right out the door to see the adorable parade of cows "Almabtrieb" that are brought through the town at the end of the summer. We were able to park right at the hotel and that was very convenient.

It would have been nice to see the lovely bar at the hotel open for service.

This was an amazing hotel. The lobby was super spacious with inviting areas to relax in. The front desk people were extremely helpful, answering all of my questions, proving stamps, towels, whatever I needed. My room was plenty spacious snd had a fabulous little balcony from which I could watch the sunset and the storms rolling in. The pool was fantastic, with a great view of the mountains and a clean shower room. It was such a refreshing way to cool off after a day of hiking. The breakfast was plentiful and staff very attentive. The location was superb - easy walking distance to the train and the old town with all the restaurants and quaint shops were right out the back entrance. I had been traveling in Germany / Austria for over 7 weeks and this was, by far, the best accommodation and price. I did not want to leave.

This hotel had charm and character. The location was awesome with both breakfast and dinner on site serving exceptional meals. In the heart of all the town and an excellent outdoor cafe to people watch and enjoy the small city. Perfect location for hiking and biking. The rooms were very spacious with a balcony and the air flowed into the room nicely. Beds were comfortable and bathroom very good. The front desk managers were extremely gracious and went out of their way when I had an unusual request for a hand say to cut a piece of wood for a project. The lobby is so unique and beautiful. Don’t pass this one by if a you get a chance to stay here. Plenty of parking. Such a beautiful hotel both inside and outside.

Everything! One of the best hotel experiences I have had in recent years. This hotel is superb!!!! The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The public spaces and gardens are beautiful and peaceful. There is a large indoor pool that provides spectacular views. The hotel is located in the exact center of this charming village. The staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hotel provides little extras like bathrobes and free drinks in the room. The hotel is undergoing some renovations. I did not see it as a minus since it did not inconvenience us and instead I think it resulted in a reduced price, making our stay an incredible value.

The breakfast was extensive and super fresh. Once of the best we had in Germany. The room was very clean and had some old world Alpine charm but not outdated. Our room had an incredible balcony that viewed the whole of the surrounding buildings of Mittenwald and of the alps. The sauna and pool was breathtaking. The staff was some of the nicest people! And the location couldn't get any better. Literally no complaints and truly hope I can stay there again in the future!

NOTHING - it was perfect

A mini-bar in the rooms is surprisingly free, offering beers, sparkling water, and bottles of lemon soda x2 each, totalling six bottles. You don't need to buy some drinks from a supermarket. There's an amazing view from the balcony, but is it only on the mountainside? Their breakfast has many options, and the tastes are okay.

About breakfast, by around 8 a.m. some dishes or drinks were already out of stock due to the high number of guests, and it seemed like the staff didn't pay much attention to the stock. They have only one coffee machine, so there is always a line. The dining room can get quite noisy due to many group guests.

Hotel room was quite large by European standards. Bathroom was updated with newer fixtures and both the bathroom and bedroom were clean and bright. Pool was nice and had a beautiful view of Karwendel Mountains and a really fun tile mural of under-sea life. Hotel was located very near to train station in Mittenwald which was great since we were traveling by train.

This wasn't the hotel's fault, but it was quite hot while we were visiting and since most European places don't have a.c. we needed to open windows which let in more noise than we would have liked. (Someone apparently thought doing a marching drums concert through the streets at midnight was a good idea and just a certain amount of conversation noise from eateries and bars out on the street).

Great location. Walking distance from train station. Surrounded by mountains. Nice shopping area and restaurants close by. Staff in the breakfast room very friendly. Staff at reception can also speak very good English and offered good info. Good breakfast options also for vegetarians. Although not much remaining in the last hour. Nice balcony to sit outside. Quite clean.

The room is very dark. It has hardly any natural light. The old dark curtains add to it. And there are hardly any lights, i.e. only couple of very insignificant ceiling lights and some table lamps here and there, each of which you have to turn on and off individually. The room is covered with carpet and not quite easy for people with dust allergies. The Hotel overall (except breakfast room) has a old dark feel. A recommendation - please provide some info in the bathroom about how to switch on the hot water

The hotel has an entrance on the main pedestrian street and runs back to the main entrance and car park on the street behind. Ample free parking is a big bonus and lots of food places and small supermarkets nearby. The single room I was in was large with en-suite shower/toilet. The fittings are elegant and plenty of storage/seating. I had a small balcony looking over the town to the mountains. WIFI is reasonable, good enough to stream shows.

I expected better facilities, very small sauna and small pool. Breakfast OK but nothing special. Interior is quite dark but maybe didn't help that it was off season.
