Lovely, well equipped apartment, with huge bedroom. Lots of windows to beautiful outside space. The sauna was a real treat!

Sadly we missed out on several nights due to a passport issue - nothing to do with the property, but we were sorry to miss our time there as we didn’t feel we saw all the place had to offer. We hope to return some day. TV & wifi connections weren’t great, not too much of a problem for us but it could have been frustrating if you were relying on it.

Exceptionally clean and well cared for guesthouse. Good breakfast choice. Lovely surroundings and a good base for visiting the south Black Forest.

Unfortunately, the night we arrived other guests were using the breakfast room above our bedroom (5) to socialise, with loud noise past midnight. It wasn’t an issue any other night and was generally very quiet. The WiFi didn’t work the first night but no problems during the rest of our stay.

This place is AMAZING I traveled with my husband and our 2 kids. This place had everything we needed. A beautiful apartment with a green forest view to the backyard. The backyard had some games for the kids and a small trampoline which kept them busy when we enjoyed the hotel breakfast. The host was super nice and very helpful with tips. Even did our laundry because the one in our apartment building was broken.

My husband loved the breakfast. To me it was missing a few ingredients. But overall, it was still good and freshly made.

Martin and Anna were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome on our visit. The room was large enough for myself, wife and son who slept in a separate toddler bed. There are lots of outdoor activities for children (including a huge trampoline) and the breakfast was great. If you enjoy walking, there is an amazing trail located minutes from the hotel with picturesque views. Ideally, you need a car to reach Schwarzwald-Hotel Kraeutle. We will definitely return to further explore the area!

We had an amazing stay at the Black Forest, the hotel is in the middle of the nature. The hosts are super nice, they offered us an upgrade and we stayed in the appartement instead of the studio and it was so much more comfortable with our baby. There is everything you need if you are traveling with children. The hosts organise a barbecue for dinner during weekends and the food is very tasty (and they even have a vegetarian option). Thank you for making our stay so special. I highly recommend this place and we really want to come back in the future ! Everything was perfect.

great quiet location - no traffic- we were able to hike directly from the location, eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel, without needing to go into town. super relaxing. A great location managed by a very welcoming and nice couple. The food at their restaurant was also very good. We would definitely go back.

Nothing really, except smokers allowed to smoke in the terrace and breakfast balcony.

The most ideal place we could have hoped for. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. The appartment was amazing, comfortable, lovely views and the kids had a huge and safe outdoor area to play, with swings and a trampoline. Perfect location, quiet and a short drive to some of the best places to visit. 3 mins to a supermarket. We will definitely come again and would recommend to anyone!

Staff was super friendly, the environment was quiet, breakfast buffet was good, scrambled eggs and coffee were very good, if you look for a remote, cosy B&B, this is it!

No floor heating, heating at the wall stopped automatically during the night, room was rather cold (during December), bathroom was very tiny

We had a great stay at the pension. Martin was a wonderful host, who helped us in whatever way he could. There are great hiking routes in the area and perfectly doable with public transport. The room itself was clean and had everything we wanted. The breakfast was comprehensive. It was also really great that there was a sauna available.

Wow! It was a pleasure staying at Martin's place! The hosting was perfect, the location is beautiful, and the room was amazing and super comfortable. The breakfast was great and delicious! We will absolutely come back the next time we visit the Black Forest!
