This is a cute, historic building right in the heart of Tubingen, very close to the historic castle and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and cafes. The breakfast spread was small but everything tasted good and the outdoor patio had a beautiful view of the town and hills in the distance.

We stayed during a very warm week and while my room had a fan, it was quite warm at night and that made it difficult to sleep. I know this is a historic building though, so I can't blame them too much for not having the full blast air conditioning that American travelers are likely used to!

Hotel Am Schloss Superior was well located for my first visit to the area from which one of my grandparents originates. Located next to the Hohentuebingen Castle, only a short walk to the Rathaus, Hoelderlin Tower and the Collegiate Church of St. George, there was much more of interest to see than I had time for. The furnishings of my single room with bathroom were modern and clean. The breakfast offering was superb.

My visit to Tuebingen came at the end of a trip via Strasbourg, Offenburg, and Trossingen, before catching a train to the Frankfurt airport. Occurring during warm, humid weather, my travel (by train) and overnight stays would have been more comfortable if air conditioning had been available. However, Hotel Am Schloss Superior did at least provide a much appreciated electric fan for my room.

Really convenient location just below the castle for easy access to the castle museum and the old city. The room was in an old building with ceiling beams and views of the old rooftops around it so it had a lot of historic charm. It was also very spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant had a lovely view out over the city. The breakfast was great, with good vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat options.

Nothing, everything was as we had hoped and I would stay here again if I came back.

The location of the hotel is great! The staff at reception desk were very professional and helpful. The staff at the dining area during breakfast were very friendly and always smiling. I am interested in history, so it was interesting for me that the building was constructed in the early 1600’s! The floors were not completely level, but if you were 700 years old, your back wouldn’t be so straight either :-)

As an American, I love cold drinks. So, the most disappointing part of my stay was that the refrigerator in the room was broken and it was extremely hot outside.

I really enjoy the main hotel and restaurant. I have stayed there before and absolutely loved it, but I was surprised to find that my hotel room was across the street and a few doors down. As a single woman traveling alone, I was very concerned that the door to that additional hotel space was propped open by a stone wrapped in cloth. I am mediately commented that that does not seem safe, and the bellmen said that was normal just to keep the door open for people to come and go. That policy needs to be revisited, and it also needs to be made clear that any room that you book is not going to be in the main hotel building.

I did not like that the additional hotel rooms were across the street and down a few doors and that the door was not kept secure. Propping open a door where there is no doorman is not a secure and safe situation.

All in all a very nice experience. The location is amazing, right in the middle of the Altstadt and the room was clean and had a beautiful view of the street which is full of old picturesque houses. In addition the staff was very kind and polite and that contributed to a very nice stay :) Ps: breakfast was also very nice, and the breakfast room has an amazing view as well (as expected, judging from the general location)

I actually have no complaints, my only "problem" was that there was no conditioner in the bathroom, but I really didn't mind :) there was of course shower gel and hand soap so it's no big deal

This was such a pleasant experience from beginning to end. The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed, the rooms were so beautiful and comfortable that we didn't want to leave, the breakfast was phenomenal, the location was perfect and stunning. Close enough to walk to the train station in about 15 minutes, close to the Marktplatz and Holzmarkt, as well as some great restaurants and the castle (which has stunning views of the area!). We would definitely come back again. Every detail was well thought out and you can tell they take pride in this place.

Our only complaint (and barely a complaint, more a mild irritation) was that our room was situated directly above the area where people went outside to smoke, and we smelled that throughout the night but there were so many windows that we were able to keep the air moving somewhat.

Staff were brilliant, particularly the wonderful ladies in the restaurant at breakfast. Incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was great. Nice to be in the old town.

Room was in the second building across the street, at the top of five flights of stairs, and a bit tired and old fashioned. No view, and sloping ceiling meant it was impossible to sit up in bed. It was a 'double' room but two single beds pushed together and two single duvets, so not really a double. Slightly eccentric plumbing means that at certain times the water from the mixer tap in the bathroom runs hot for a minute or two, which is annoying if you just want to drink a glass of water or brush your teeth.

Fantastic place to stay and enjoy the beautiful city. The staffs are super friendly. The rooms are pretty big, clean and you will get a nice view of the city and the castle. Breakfast is very delicious with lots of choices. Overall it is an amazing experience and the best recommended hotel to those who wants to enjoy the authenticity of the place.

This hotel is in a fantastic location at the top of a cobbled street close to the castle. The street outside has restricted vehicle access. This doesn't affect arrival or departure, but reduces the traffic passing by the front of the hotel making it quiet. The staff was incredibly friendly and sorted out some complicated onward travel plans for me in English. Very impressive
