Location and staff outstanding! The free regional public transportation ticket was a pleasant surprise! Rooms were very nice.

WiFi could be better but it was good enough. Would’ve like to seen a few more options on the breakfast buffet. The food offerings were a basic German breakfast. Average in taste.

Lady who greeted us spoke no English but we had a laugh whilst miming. Nice walking distance from town. Breakfast was good.

Bathroom needs updating and two single beds pushed together with 4inch wooden frame does not make a double bed.

Great location for hiking (whole Schwarzwald is packed with hiking paths). Neat and clean rooms. The town is quite cozy. Free parking. Everybody is extremely friendly.

Church rang every hour from 6.00 too 22.00 in the evening. Woke up very early because of the ringing. People in the town and in the hotel spoke surprisingly poor English.

Parking at the hotel was a challenge.

I found some staff were not very welcoming and claimed they could not speak english but later in the day they did to other people. I guess my face did not fit. I requested a room with a garden view by email they claim they did not get email and would not move me so I had a crap view of other flats. I got my laundry done in house for a small fee which was well done and welcoming as I traveled on a motorcycle. Cannot comment on wifi as I did not use it as I had roming data. No staff on site after 17.00 hrs bar closed and no one explained about using key in electric lock. I thought I was locked out on first night. No one answered the mobile emergancy phone, another guest explained. Sauna and swimming pool good and free, makes up for the bad points. Vending machine for beer in this heat wave (30degC), but make sure you have coins as does not take card payment and noone there to give you change. The bar person spoke good english and was very friendly when it was open. Shops and pubs closeby, but are closed mid day and one of the 3 nights I was there the whole town closed because it was too hot in the heatwave, I thought this amusing so used vending machine.

Did not like some of the false staff. Did not apprieciate alleged missing email for garden view. Did not like thinking I was locked out due to no handover instructions. I expected Bar in hotel to be open longer. I expected some skellerton stafff to be on hand in hotel Vending machine should take a card payment.

I liked that the staff was very helpful and room was well maintained and clean. I liked the location of the hotel, very close to the restaurants and shops, yet at a sufficient distance not to be bothered by the people coming back after having a loud party. I liked the old-school way how the breakfast is planned, names are labelled on the table and coffee prepared - it's so 1980s but in a positive way! Surroundings are great for hiking, and relaxing moreover there are lots of interesting places to visit in the area and the hotel has a multitude of leaflets to inspire you to that!

Well, a hotel is run in a certain way with it's associated pros and cons... First of all the interior is dated. 1980s as well. Swimming pool is tiny and the infrastructure hardly holds. Lockers are without locks, broken etc. The main event is a lack of air conditioning. For winter stays that's probably not an issue but during the recent heatwaves it was simply impossible to sleep. Worse still, I had a single room where keeping the windows open meant you could hear all the terrace conversations as well as enjoy smoke of the cigarettes which were thrown to the roof/terrace while still being lit. Another possible improvement would be to have a bar open to say 11PM. This could be combined with basic reception operation - just one person making use of the available infrastructure would make a difference. This place is not that small after all!

Wolfach is a small, very picturesque village, and even though the hotel, is not directly in the center, everything is very easy to reach on foot. The neighborhood is so quiet that you can sleep with open windows without being woken up. The hotel is very clean and suitable for disabled people. However, it is a place targeting the elderly, and not realizing this when booking, we were a bit out of place.

Clearly built with cleanliness in mind, the whole hotel has the charm of a hospital or a youth hostel, which is a pity. We booked 3 rooms, 2 double and one single. The single room was tiny, and really not appropriate for the price or this type of hotel. The doubles were both different in size and furnishing, one not bad with a canapé, the other one a bit bland. with only 2 chairs and overall about 30% smaller despite the same price. The pool is also a rather functional affair and does not invite to spend more time than necessary in it. The breakfast, while in terms of offered quality ok, is anything but generous in terms of choices. Nobody will starve there, but everything is just ok, and really not inviting to feast. Also disappointing is that the number of bicycles is quite limited, so there were not enough for the 5 of us. We only spent 2 nights here and for that it was ok, but if you want adventure or refinement this won't be your place of choice.

Breakfast was good and included in price. Beautiful location by a city park. Balcony was private.

The wall from my room to the next was so thin I bought ear plugs but that did not help. Toilet and fan and voices were very loud due to this construction failure. I shortened my stay by one night.

Really out dated room. Nobody answers the phone or mail. Staff is very incapable. Check out time is 10:00 instead of 11:00 as is advertised on Booking.com, so we couldn’t have breakfast, ridiculous.
