Great location. Clean.

The older gentleman tried to con me on the price of the taxi to the airport. He told me the fare was 35 euros and I was to pay him and he would pay the taxi driver. I guess I look more gullible that I thought! I paid the taxi driver 20 euros! Just a heads up warning!

The Kastro is an excellent value hotel with harbour views in Agios Kirykos, a charming town on Ikaria. It was immaculately clean with a number of extra features that we liked. It has a small pool with a shaded lounging area with harbour views -a wonderful place to cool off on hot afternoons. The air conditioned room had a mini-fridge and small balcony with a view. The breakfast was good and well-priced. The owner was helpful and informative about Ikaria. He let us know what was going on in the town and where the festival ( panagyri) was, etc. Some reviews have mentioned the steps to the hotel as a negative.But is not uncommon for Greek island towns to have steps and hills. Second, there is a road ( if you arrive as we did by taxi or car, you drive up to the door, no steps). All in all this hotel was perfect for our 5 day stay. We heard local musicians ( and danced) , swam in nearby natural hot springs, watched the Independence Day parade and the annual chess tournament.

Nothing. We really liked this family run hotel. It’s rooms are modest and well-priced.

It was really clean. The reception was very helpful and good tempered. The breakfast for which we paid €7 per person was good value for money. The view and location was great. So very close to the port and the old city on foot and pretty close to Therma by car.

The beds were not comfy. The bathroom was too small and old in design but very clean. It was so very close to the port but needed to use stairs and then some slope to reach the hotel.

The view is absolutely spectacular! Staff friendly and kind enough to have kept our luggage while we waited for our ferry. Room nice and clean

Difficult access to tea and coffee in the morning (kettle, etc in room would be very good) No option to opt out of having your room cleaned in the day Not sure how comfortable a long stay would be due to fridge and electric in the room (although fridge may have been on a different circuit-I didn’t try)

The view from my room no:123 was on the top floor and the views were absolutely spectacular. Location was central to village square. My room was clean and comfortable.

There were many steps to get to the hotel and although worth the effort for the views it was quite difficult for an older, unfit person such as myself to get there with my suitcase. I should mention there were lifts once inside the hotel. I also didn't particularly like the pillows.

Hotel Kastro accommodation is truly exceptional ❤️ beautiful clean rooms, cleaned every day, very kind and helpful staff, excellent location and the most beautiful was the view of the sea, the port and the city 👍👍👍 Thank you again for everything and good luck 🍀🍀🍀

Nice hotel, very clean, I had a beautiful view of the sea and the lovely town.I didn't sample breakfast so can't comment on that. Nice little plunge pool which I did use. Staff were very friendly and it was no problem when I requested to extend my stay. My only issue was the steep climb after coming up 70 steps but it didn't spoil my stay.

The hotel is just 600m from the port of Ag Kirikos. The last 100m, up the steps to the police station and up the hill to the hotel is a killer with a case! There was a pleasant view from my balcony, over the roofs to the port. The room was comfortable and clean. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but it was available. All in all, a pleasant stay.

The hotel seemed a little quiet and sleepy, but this isn't a bad thing. The hotel pool took a bit of finding, it was two floors above my room. I didn't use it myself, and it didn't look well used.

Excellent location overlooking the town, harbour and sea. Nice clean, comfortable and spacious room. Regret we never asked the owners name but he was so friendly and helpful and went out of his way to assist us where possible. The pool was an extremely welcome, and rare addition Great value for money and would highly recommend this place.

The only thing we could comment on is that the room furniture is a little dated - and that’s being picky.

Despite the steps and walk to hotel it’s a great location overlooking the town and harbour. It’s quiet and very peaceful. The view overlooking the harbour from my room was beautiful.

Although it’s a great location there is Limited parking in front of hotel.
