Kimon is a 10, as long as you modify your expectations. Located at the nexus of historical Athens, everything is easy to reach. The hotel is a five-minute walk WSW of Syntagma Square and its metro station. Minutes south of the hotel you'll find the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, Hadrian's Arch or Gate, and the delectable Acron Cafe with the best chocolate croissant in Athens. Minutes west are the Roman Agora, the absolutely amazing Ancient Agora, and Monastiraki Square or Platia Monastiraki. Minutes north lie the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Athens at Mitropoleos Square and Mitropoleos Street and Ermou Street (both run parallel for a few blocks) with great shopping and the best gelateria in Athens, Zuccherino, on Mitropoleos. A few minutes east is the best restaurant in Athens at 20 Nikis Street--Athena's Cook. I recommend multiple visits to sample their fresh and tasty offerings, and you will be well-served by its staff.

My only criticism is that my room was cold when I arrived (granted my visit was the first week of March), and it took a while for the heater to warm the room enough for my comfort, but I tend to prefer greater warmth than most people. However, the bed was the most comfortable one I've ever slept on, and the pillow was an orthopedic one that was unexpected and wonderful to look forward to after a long day hiking and sightseeing.

The staff went above and beyond before my stay and whilst I was stopping at the hotel. Communication between myself and staff was efficient and fast. Whilst I was staying at the Kimon the staff were informative and helpful to any questions I asked. The location was absolutely brilliant! Unbelievably close to the main square, and the church around the corner. The room was sufficient for my stay, small but cosy and had everything I need in it. It was cleaned everyday and left my room in a tidy space.

Because I was in the small room, my only issue was the shower. The actual shower hose was very short meaning therefore not being able to but the shower head in the holder which is placed above the shower.

The hotel's prime location made it easy to explore the city, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, offering valuable recommendations and assistance throughout my stay. Visiting during the scorching summer months, the effective air conditioning in the room was a lifesaver, providing a much-needed escape from Athens' intense heat. This combination of a great location, helpful staff, and essential climate control made my trip truly enjoyable, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Athens.

Delightful stay. Location was perfect. Very nice upstairs balcony terrace with views of Acropolis and within sight of the Cathedral. I even had a private terrace attached to my room. My room and the hotel were relaxing and quiet at night. I enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. I especially appreciate the warm welcome upon my arrival. Georges is the best!! He took time to answer all my questions and to make helpful recommendations (awesome dinner spot nearby for instance). My Kimon stay was a highlight of my visit to Athens. I look forward to returning to Kimon. I’m a 75 year old solo traveling grandmother—Kimon was perfect for me.

The location is amazing. Kimon is near everything you want to see. We loved the digital access to the building. This made check in easy, especially if you need to arrive late at night. The Bed and pillows were very comfortable, best I’ve slept on in all of Europe. The staff were warm and friendly. They went above and beyond to help with scheduling taxis. They even upgraded our room because they had to leave early and missed our check in.

Like most of Europe, the shower is very small. Larger people like me, beware. Get good at showering with an inch of space on either side.

This is a great place in an excellent location. It has many restaurants and a very nice Bazaar grocery store within 100 yards or less. Kimon is halfway between the Acropolis and Syntagma Metro station, and also the terminus for the airport express bus which runs every 20-40 minutes most of each day for about 8 euro. There is a five day Metro pass for less than 10 euro to ride the regular bus\subway\tram system. The staff at the hotel are extremely knowledgeable and friendly!

It was affordable and in a fantastic location. The Air con in the room was brilliant and needed in Athens in June. I would definitely stay again if I was in Athens on my own. The location is unbeatable, Plaka is where all the action

The petite internal room was a really small room. there is only just enough room to open up your suitcase in the little walkway so you’ll have to keep it closed and packed away most of the time. The bed sunk heaps and wasn’t very comfortable

My double room's window with queen size bed was facing quiet side street,towels were changed every time when the room was made up and linen were changed on my forth night.Kettle,cups and tea sachets in the room were an unexpected bonus.Refrigerator & the aircone in the room were functionable.Decor of the hotel,location in Plaka,cheery,respectful staff communication,especially with Kelly added the colurs to the Kimon's Hotel.One can reach airport bus,beach tram's stops in 10 min.There are supermarkets and many eateries in close vicinity.Terrace with Akropolis view was lovely,very green.Our luggage was stored and we could use quest bathroom afterwards.Thank you very much for the hospitality shown to us!

I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially George, the receptionist. The location was quite central, within walking distance of the main sights and there were many restaurants/cafes nearby. The Acropolis was visible from the end of the roof terrace.

I found the spiral marble staircase a little difficult to manage (no lift) but my balance isn’t great so it probably wouldn’t be an issue for most people.

The staff went out of their way to help me before and during my staff. They were excetionally kind and helpful and very professional. I will definitely be back. The rooms are a little dated and shabby chic in parts but the price and location more than make up for it.

The rooms could be made more diability and elderly friendly. They are aware that the steep stairs to the upper floors are an issue but within the rooms there are a number of things that could be improved with very little effort. For example, there is a steep step from the en suite bathroom to the bedroom which was tricky for me to navigate and I wasn't aware of it before I booked. This should be flagged on the room description. The fridge was on a shelf in the bottom of the wardrobe and it was hard to open the fridge door. There weren't enough plugs and the one at the desk area was very hard to access. Having an extesion cord on the table for guest would make it much easier to plug things in and out.
