The stunning location of the hotel along the marina, with breathtaking views of mountains enhanced the five-star ambiance. Here in Messinia, in this hotel p is alive and thriving!! All the staff members, are hand picked to make guests feel comfortable, looked after and special. The Grande Hotel is a true master of personalized hospitality, exemplifying the essence of a five-star hotel experience. The staff assisted us with every query above and beyond our expectations. We were greeted by our names. Staff found exactly the activities and we wanted. They found us hair salons, booked us cars for our tours, restaurants and responded to all our needs. Staff members made the most of our time in Messinia , immersing us in the local culture and traditions. Their knowledge of every corner of Messinia was well received. We had so much fun exploring. The staffs passion for Greece and the Messinian culture enriched our understanding, and their genuine warmth and care made us feel like cherished guests. The food was brilliant; fresh and abundant. Our kids, 14 and 16 had a feast! The coffee was divine! Dinners exceptional. We also had some issues with booking concerts and ferries online with our credit cards, and the wonderful staff helped us out just like we were part of their extended family! We were stoked! We could name the staff but honestly, there is no point as every single one was of the same caliber, hospitable and happy to help us. Bravo 🙌 and THANK YOU 🙏 we will definitely be back!!

Literally nothing not to like.

Grand Hotel Kalamata is a new building, a great hotel right by the sea. The pedestrian street in front of it is just being completed. Our room was amazing. We got a better room on the sea side. It also had a balcony. The bed was comfortable, the pillow selection was wide, the sheets and blankets were of high quality, as were the towels. The welcome drink was a nice gesture. Thank you! We found a place for our car in the hotel parking lot. The behavior of the staff is polite and correct, but also cordial. The professionalism didn't cover it up which is great! Kalamata is a fairly large city and the Grand Hotel Kalamata is located on its "edge", that is, if you look from the direction of the center. Of course, the location by the sea is also an advantage.

The breakfast did not quite meet our expectations, although it was plentiful of course. I missed the quality, , e.g. in coffee. Perhaps the young waiter was not yet fully aware of what each breakfast option entailed and could not explain the choices well enough.

The À-la-Carte-Breakfast was great. Feshly made. Try the scrambled eggs - simply incredible! The entrance area from the harbour side welcomes with a very generously equipped bar with restaurant and foyer. The high ceilings, polished marble and choice of colours are luxurious. The staff is courteous and friendly. The materials of the rooms are equally high-quality and friendly.

The only downer was the lack of a second bedside table in the queen-size bed room. We did not understand why the bed was so close to the balcony door that it was a bit cramped to get into bed on this side. The room itself is spacious. The bed and bed linen were "grand hotel style". The central location at the harbour results in a further distance to the old town.

Everything about the property was perfect a brand new hotel the staff were amazing the position of the hotel is on the front you you walk out the door and you are on the promenade with lots of restaurants bars and cafes so anybody with walking problems it’s perfect.

It doesn’t have a pool but you have the beach and you can use other hotels so long as you spend 7 euros per person you have a sun bed and parasol and can stay all day.

Overpriced. Half the breakfast items on menu out of stock. Brand new alleged 5 star hotel yet no electric vehicle charging station. Receptionist told me was a charger right near hotel but when I arrived turned out need a special card from the. Local govt and the hotel didn't have one. Had to charge 40 minutes walk away. Not really five star., doesn't have the services or facilities, even when they finish the spa will be more of a 4 star

The facilities, staff, and service was exceptional. The hotel was clean and beautiful. We remember Maria at the front desk helped us get something from a store in town and she called in advance. Eleni also helped us call the highway service to confirm about a road closure and a detour. Our housekeeper Linda was sweet and kind as well. We can't wait to go back when we take another trip to greece. It was a phenomenal stay.

Loved the recent renovations with all the marble and the modern feel….location was exceptional….the room itself and the view from the balcony was breathtaking….walkable to many reasonably priced restaurants, coffee shops, etc…..service was first class from the welcome desk, bell boy, waiters to the housekeepers….overall it was an exceptional experience

The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and elegant, and everything from the toilet seat to the bathroom doors themselves were “soft closing”. The breakfast was ample and delicious, and they brewed an outstanding pour-over coffee. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful, and spoke excellent English.

There is currently construction around the hotel as the city renovated the waterfront. As of 7May2023 it is almost done, and then I will have nothing to complain about.

We loved the location of this hotel because it was near the harbour and had a lovely view from the balcony. Also there were many restaurants and cafes nearby, and the hotel has reserved car parks for the guests. The breakfast was served to us from the menu, and we were more than satisfied, especially with the vegetarian omelette. Would definitely recommend to stay there.

It didn’t have a pool and it was very hot!
