Foffee was able to accommodate us in an amazing room with a huge balcony for extra nights after Agean Airlines decided to add half a plane full of people with no luggage and we had to wait for days without any of our belongings. She treated us like family and the breakfast was amazing. We were so well taken care of. This is an amazing place to stay.

WiFi takes some finagling but there's a lot of options to choose from so my husband was able to work well.

What better way to enjoy the magnificent island of Skiathos than to stay in this welcoming hotel. It is clean and comfortable, a real home away from home, a large family house filled with fascinating objects, paintings and the warmth of Fofi, the landlady. She is an expert hostess, a bright personality willing and helpful, knowledgable about the island and so hospitable. It is situated high above the port away from any noisy tourist activities, amidst the quiet, picturesque streets of this delightful town, a real haven with a cosy courtyard full of friendly cats. I cannot emphasise enough how happy we were to have made our booking in such a beautiful place.

The room was very comfy and spotlessly clean the bathroom was large with a great shower we were in room 10 on the very top of the hotel the room had a fantastic large balcony with beautiful sea views, the location was perfect only minutes away from restaurants, shops ect, Fofi the owner was a fabulous host who gave us lots of tips and advice on the local area, she really was a lovely lady who looks after many unloved cats she is a Gem. we will be back.

Fofi, the host, is brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. If you've not been before, get a taxi from the airport to the ferry port, go around the corner and walk through the old port on the left, past most of the tavernas on the right, looking out for one that's a bit trendier (cushions, louder music), where there's a street up the hill with tavernas, kitchens on one side and seating on the other. You have to walk through that last taverna's outdoor seating to get to the street. Keep going up the hill, past taverna tables sat on wooden stages (straddling steps), then you get a couple of tavernas on your left. Turn right at the last one (sorry, cannot remember the name), then 2nd left - the big iron gates to the hotel are about 5 m down the street on your right.

Perfect excellent location with amazing views from our room balcony. Our hostess Fofi was adorable. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone going to Skiathos town.

We had the top floor with balcony but the Wifi did not work in our room, not a deal breaker but annoyed me slightly as when booking chose must have wifi so you expect it to be available, however, could only get signal when in reception area. No BBC world news channel on the TV & as no wifi could not use iPad to get world news.

We only stayed 1 night but would def stay longer. Room.10 has the most amazing views from the balcony. We got a lovely warm welcome from the owner. The room was very clean and comfy with a super shower and fab fluffy towels. Location is superb in skuatjos Town minutes from the harbour and restaurants. Fairly easy to find tucked away in the cobbled streets. Breakfast was simple but freshly prepared and tasty. Will def return on our next visit

The Host was ver attentive and friendly helpful and knowledgeable … breakfast was very good and value for money, the hotel has a very greek rustic charm , we stayed on the top floor and the views of the port were amazing.

we only had a short overnight stay and if we were to make a negative point the mattress was to hard we both struggle with lower back problems but this is a personal issue and the mattress may suit others staying.

Everything! The hotel is in a quiet location in the old town and just a few minutes walk to restaurants, shops and port. It has an attractive courtyard entrance with lots of lovely cats enjoying the peace. Inside it is traditionally decorated and fascinating to browse. My room was at the top of the hotel with its own balcony overlooking the town and sea. It was beautiful, just a bit tricky to get my suitcase up the spiral staircase. The breakfast was individually prepared and very tasty. Fofi is a wonderful host, friendly, kind and helpful. I would love to return.

Fofi is the best host! She is very attentive to details, and she gave us an upgrade upon arrival (we had our little dog travelling with us) to a marvelous little villa next doors which happened to be not booked for the night we stayed in Skiathos. Breakfast was just the right amount. Breathtaking location, beautiful view to the port, restaurants are nearby. The main house is a little jewel with all the memories of the past!

We loved our stay at Hotel Mato, our host Fofi was exceptionally kind, between her lovingly prepared breakfasts, housekeeping, and occasional greek lesson. The views from our room were something out of a movie and the hotel itself is in a prime location to explore and enjoy Skiathos town. Perfect place for one to have a wonderful stay coupled with an authentic Greek experience!
