Beautiful colorful hotel in the island of flores. We literally liked everything, the pool is awesome, the reception area, the personal is great, we took an apartment which literally had everything we needed, a little closet, a kitchen, a table and a little living room. I am a digital nomand and the wifi worked perfeclty for my emails and zoom calls. The view while having breakfast is breathtaking. The fact that you can just cross the street and jump into the lake is great for spontanous swims specially at sunset times. Overall flores has really good vibes and this hotel is no exception.

I enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi. The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast was good. Two grocery stores are right across the street, so that's even better.

The view was not much of a lake view from the room, but the view of sunset by the outdoor restaurant made up for it. One of the boards of the bed fell as I sat on the bed.

We had an apartment and it was very spacious and clean. The beds were really comfy and the room very dark so makes sleeping easier! The apartment doesn’t really have windows though. The shower was great compared to other places we had stayed and we had breakfast included at the hotel which had about 6 or 7 different options. The pool area is small but nice for relaxing and cooling off.

The island is small and the apartments for the hotel are on a road that was busy so was noisy with bikes, tuk tuks and cars from early in the morning. There is also a bar close by which had music until quite late. Bring earplugs and you’ll be fine though!

The room had 3 queen beds and was very spacious. We fit my spouse, 2 daughters and father with plenty of room and did not feel crowded at all. The view from the balcony was very pretty. The included breakfast (for the 3 adults only) was delicious and traditional. They offered a shuttle to the airport and even though we had to get there a couple hours earlier, we appreciated the free ride and the driver was great! They also had a bar with great views and the entire hotel was very clean. If we are lucky to return to this area again, we will definitely stay here.

The hot tub was not hot. I would say it was slightly warmer than room temperature. After a long day of hiking in Tikal, a nice hot soak would have been relaxing and healing. It was warm outside so it was fine and I never complained so I'm not sure if they could have heated it more.

They sit you down for breakfast and serve you your choice from a small breakfast menu. They come to your table to refill your coffee. The apartment was perfect and safe, you needed to have a key to get into the stairwell for the apartment. The shower was huge and the water was hot. There was Netflix access and the air conditioner was working perfectly. The pool and jacuzzi was very clean.

The apartment was across the street (but the street isn't big). However to swim you had to cross the street to get to the main hotel with the pool. That was really the only thing I could complain about.

We loved this place! It was very festive when we arrived at around 10 pm but our room was fairly quiet, which was nice because we were very tired and needed a good night's sleep which we got! The room was nice and clean and the property was lovely. What took this place over the top for us is what they did after we checked out, which saved our entire vacation. We got a call from the front desk person around 20 mins after checking out. He told us we had left our passports there. So we turned around to go back and get them, but as we did, a peaceful protest formed in the streets which delayed us (we found out later they were protesting an increase in electricity prices). We were quite nervous having left our passports; especially when we remembered we had cash inside of the passports. We were so happy the front desk man called us so quickly to tell us we left them there, but we weren't sure if the cash would still be in them. However, when we arrived, our passports were waiting for us at the front desk, still with all of our cash inside just as we had left them! We were incredibly grateful to the hotel staff. Their honest efforts literally saved us from what would have been an absolute nightmare! THANK YOU Hotel Casona!! It's wonderful to know such kindness and honesty still exists in the world. What a wonderful hotel for alerting us...and so quickly. We HIGHLY recommend this fine and honest establishment!

We liked everything!

The pool area is gorgeous (although more sun loungers or comfier seating could be offered, including umbrellas for shade). Staff were really friendly and gave us breakfast packaged up for earlier departure. Good location in Flores and a beautiful view overlooking the lake from the pool

We stayed in the apartments over the road and they were very basic, although fine. Do wish the apartments had been advertised as over the road as we had no outside seating area and were expecting a balcony or view of some sorts. The apartments are run down and could do with some TLC. Upgrade pool furniture as comment above

The pool, the hot tub, the location, the "look" of the property, the cleanliness, the staff and the wifi. Very happy with this property, would recommend to anyone. Also, the AC and thick curtains that did a great job in the morning. The pictures are very accurate, I was looking through my own pics and wondered how one of theirs got into my camera. Then I realized that I took the exact same picture of the sun setting over the water and pool. Gorgeous.

Neither are a big deal, but the shower took a very long time to heat up and I was on the third floor facing the street which could get noisy in the morning. I have a white noise app on my phone that did a good job with it, though. Also, lack of plugs. I always bring an extension cord so it was fine.

The breakfast was great and had plenty of options! Also, loved the pool area and sunset views!

There were kiddos that monopolized the pool 😄 def not the hotels fault but you seriously couldn’t even be by the pool at one point because they were basically having a Red Bull sponsored belly flop contest for at least 2 hours 😂 so no room to relax if there a ton of kids screaming and flopping around

It had a great view of the water. Restaurant was convenient and served a quite filling breakfast as part of the price, though there are cheaper restaurants around for other meals. AC was much appreciated as it was very hot in Flores. Staff was kind and let us drop our bags and use the pool before we checked in as our flight landed early.

Not necessarily a con, but note that the rooms, or at least ours, was quite small. It was clean however. Staff speak mostly Spanish. At the restaurant it was fine if you have google translate and some broken Spanish, but when we tried ordering room service the meal that came was not at all what we had asked for, so maybe if your Spanish isn’t great, just go to the restaurant to order.
