In this specific case Selina was our safe space as we booked it last moment after having some issues with our initial accommodation on the lake. From the very beginning Selina staff was attentive, understanding - allowed us to do an early check in, provided us with a quiet room. This Selina has everything you need - it’s dog friendly, has great bfast options (we had breakfast included), also lunch / dinner / drinks, beautiful surroundings, great coworking, stable internet connection, lots of sitting areas, swimming pool, games, books, cinema, events. We enjoyed quietness of our room as it wasn’t close to the main area 🙏🏼 as the result we prolonged our stay for one more week and were kindly offered the same room and even an option of upgrade for the same cost which we didn’t accept as we wanted to stay at the same space. Thank you so much for everything.

Love the amenities (ping pong table, pool). Also really liked how centric and clean it was.

We booked a shuttle with Selina to Guatemala City but they forgot to confirm the ride so we had to wait 2:30 for the shuttle to arrive. Fortunately, the manager at Selina helped of resolve this issue and even made us feel more at ease. Also shoutout to Angel, our driver, who made our ride feel comfortable unlike Omar, the original driver who randomly dropped us of at a gas station without telling us why we had to change drivers… We later on found out he just didn’t want to drive that far but still got paid the amount and caused Angel to loose part of his payment.

Like most Selina properties, this one is designed to have it all….and it does. We had a 4bed comm room and it was great. Plenty of space and the beds were comfy. Thick blankets. I didn’t have a private room, but I did see one and it was huge. It’s a mostly upbeat, but chill hostel unlike Dreamboat which is the party spot. I made plenty of friends during my 4days. Drinks at the bar were great and decently priced. Yoga in the morning was a vibe. Fast wifi. Everything in Pana is a short walk. As with any good hostel, the staff is knowledgeable about many things happening in the area. They’re extremely helpful. This Selina is a great place to start your Journey at the Lake

Great cowork space, chill vibes, comfortable beds and pillows, great kitchen, and delicious variety of breakfast. They even have black out curtains. All were included in the price I paid. Close to the lake. Pool was a little bit green to me so I didn't go in, but nice to relax by. This hotel-hostel has a resort feel.

The dorm could use a fan. I know it doesn't get too hot weather wise but with 8 people and hot showers, it can get really stuffy. The bathroom was cleaned each day but not sure if the floor was so there was mud there for a few days. Our dorm room lock was horrible to get in and out of with the key. It definitely needs to be fixed. Lighting in the room is dim. Could be a good or bad thing.

The private room was spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable. As this was a hostel, there were plenty of common ares, and there were loads of activities every night.

There was construction going on behind the building; noise from that started at 6am every day. The door to the room is made mainly of glass. While nice looking, it didn't block any sound. Light sleepers should definitely bring ear plugs. Also, the lighting inside the room left something to be desired. The room felt quite dark, even with all lights turned on.

Welcome drink included is a nice touch. The restaurant bar area is cute. Shower had conditioner and shampoo stuff in it. The staff was honest with booking shuttles I appreciate that.

The pool was closed for renovations when I was there I do wish they mentioned this somehow in the booking before I had arrived? The kitchen is super small for the amount of people staying there but probably cause they have a restaurant on site. Overall I spent a month on the lake and this was maybe my least favorite? Selina's are a chain and it feels like it. Not on the lake no view of the lake/volcano. Good spot to stay if you have a late shuttle arrival or early shuttle leaving cause they leave from Pana on the lake.

Nice location, easy to spend some days with activities or at the pool area. Good idea to have a bar that's down the street to make parties there and provide a relatively calm hostel atmosphere. Kitchen is quite well equipped, just spices are lacking. There is a cinema room for common use.

Be careful with reservations on Booking! During the stay I heard that Selina has a lot of problems with the connection to Booking, sometimes there we're overbooked because of that! The reception team is not very competent: there are all giving different answers to the same questions that in the end were wrong (like how the cinema room worked) and when we wanted to check out in the early morning we were locked in. We were told before that security will sit at the reception. At the end he wasn't there and after 15 min if searching and calling two numbers we found him sleeping in the bar room. As it gets cold in the evening it would be nice to have a space that is more closed as all the provided common rooms are semi-open.

Hostel is located close to the ferry which brings you all around the Lake. Staff is friendly and helpful. You can buy breakfast, food and drinks and the common area is big and cozy. There is also a shared kitchen and free water to refill. The hostel is a great place for solo travelers, couples or groups. It fits all you needs whether it’s relaxing and being by yourself or Meeting new people and have some party. They also have their own „beach“ bar where you can see the sunset and enjoy your free welcome drink.

We had a private room which was nice and big enough but our room was located directly next to the street which was very loud. Can’t really blame the hostel but the windows do not lower any sounds. Next to this the water in the shower takes a long time to get warm. No big deal for us as it gets warm in the end just for you information it takes some time. It’s a bit of a waste of the water.

Bar side is good. Friendly staff. Lots of activities and shuttles you can book from them. Near the ferry place too

Feels more like a working from home place rather than your typical backpacker place so if you were the latter, it was hard to meet people. The pool was broken the days I was there and the water was green. Didn't see any intention for filter to be replaced or anything.

The hotel is very nice and very clean. The details are nice and you feel cosy and welcome. The bed was also very good as well as the room in general. The location of the Hotel is good and you can reach all important places by foot. The offered food was great as well. We recommend to stay at Selinas because its so nice and the restaurant is very good. The personal is very friendly. They also have a location directly at the beach which you can use as a hotel guest
