The staff are all local and very friendly. The customers are a mixture of foreigners and Guatemalans which I liked. The views from our bedroom and from the restaurant are spectacular. The gardens are full of birds and butterflies and the birdsong is gorgeous. The food was reasonably priced and local and tasty and you can see it being made. The pontoon is an excellent and quiet swimming spot and kept our teenage boys busy and very happy. I also liked being a short 5 m walk into San Juan de la Laguna, a colourful town with good selection of shops and the mirador with great views of the lake. San Pedro is the other side and a short 10 m walk or quick tuk Tuk trip. We really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing eco accommodation in the quiet part of Lake Atitlan - next to the San Juan village. It is 15mins by walking to San Pedro and 5min walking to San Juan. The rooms are sharing big common balcony from where you can quietly watch lake Atitlan, birds and nature around. You can also relax in big garden, which belongs to the hotel. We've booked hiking guide to Indian Nose via the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was also amazing. Just count with longer waiting time (approx. 30mins until you are served and your food is reayy). Maybe more staff would make it quicker. We've stayed for 3 nights and it was one of highlights of our stay in Guatemala.

The hotel is situated right on the lake, and my room had a small patio with a great view. There is a restaurant on the property that overlooks the lake as well. It's about a 15 minute walk to the embarcadero. The hotel is not in the main town center, so if that's important to you, you may consider booking elsewhere. Something important to note: the taxi may drop you off at the main road and you walk down the path to the hotel. There isn't a sign for the hotel on the main road, so I'd recommend pulling up Google Maps to make sure you're in the right spot. The internet was great! I was able to work from my laptop in my room and had no issues with signal.

The water was cold and would not heat up for the shower. There were some bugs in my room because the windows are not as secured like the ones in the US, but that is to be expected when staying in Central America. I sprayed lemongrass eucalyptus and that seemed to help!

We loved the food and the location was amazing. We also enjoyed the inexpensive drinks. The staff are helpful, accommodating, and very friendly. When we weren't satisfied with our original room due to lack of ventilation, they changed us to a bigger and more spacious room with a private balcony free of charge. Setting up the kayaking and jacuzzi was very easy and made for some really romantic moments for my wife and I. The garden out front and surroundings around the hotel were extremely beautiful even without the lush mountains and lake.

I didn't like that there wasn't an area to wash our clothes or dry them. The room we had orginally didn't ventilate well so when are clothes got wet, they just stayed wet in our room and smelled gross. I also wish the windows had bug screens which would've made the ventilation problem not a problem at all because we could've just left the windows open.

The grounds were picturesque, lots of leaves, plants etc. The view from the lake and San Juan were mist welcome. The breakfast (served buffet) was very tasty, especially the pancakes and the different types of eggs. It was possible to get a tuk tuk called to take us in to San Juan, although you can walk it easily. It was also possible to get a Lancha to come to the hotel dock to take you to the other villages.

The shower in the room R5 needs fixing/updating. The dodgy connection meant that there wasn't really any hot water. The food in the restaurant was not very good, especially as the prices are considerably more than a restaurant in the village.

The location was outside the city which was good because less noise. At the time of check in, they said, "the room is still not ready, there is another 15 minutes waiting". As we were not happy about it (having already waited for 5 hours) they upgraded us to a bungalow for the same price. Bungalows are nicer and bigger which less noise than in the main building but it smells very humid and the wifi doesn't reach up there. Very good breakfast included.

Bungalows smells humidity a lot. No wifi reach the bungalows.

Pros: - eco conscious and friendly! I really appreciate their dedication to trying to help the earth. their hotel is made to look like an old castle with materials that are very "earthy-looking" so that was lovely. - the view from the porch, with hammocks and seats from in front of your door. - breakfast was included and delicious. coffee great too, as well as filtered water provided for free. - the wonderful layout of the property with paintings, places to sit and walk. - I didn't use the sauna/pool area as it was an extra cost but totally looked beautiful. - loved the painted deck area. - The room was lovely and clean. Shower had hot water. - staff was sweet.

- Located on the side of a hill, it was a little challenging to get there as tuk tuk's would drop you at top of road and walk down the pathway (although found out later tuk tuk's can go around to get you there) - I had asked to stay in a room away from the noise and they put me in a room on the second floor which was the level of the restaurant so you can hear people early in the morning and at all times which kinds sucked. - There was a loud party happening at the bottom area of the hotel late until the night, which was exactly what I was trying to stay away from. - Unfortunately you can't see the sunset from this angle but that's not the property's fault.

Clean hotel in great location - we walked into San Juan in 10 mins and San Pedro in 15, tuk tuk from San Pedro was 10Q. The hotel will call boats to the dock to take you anywhere you want to go for no extra price. We were in room R1 which had a large window overlooking the lake and private balcony. Room cleaned daily. Great breakfast included and free drinking water. Kayaks were great and always available. The views were brilliant with swimming straight off the dock. Would 100% recommend.

A ladder at the end of the dock would have been useful for getting out of the lake, but there are steps available. Nothing else not to like!

Great location, right on the lake front with beautiful views and own dock (where you can arrange pick up and drop off from other towns around the lake). Gardens we’re lovely and lots of little spots to sit and read etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly, although did sometimes have to go looking for them. I ate at the restaurant a couple of times, the food was nice but portions were quite small. Rooms with balcony were comfortable. Use of the free kayaks was a great addition - lovely to get out on the lake for a couple of hours. All in all well worth the money and a great base for exploring San Juan and the surrounding towns.

The restaurant was closed between breakfast and dinner. Would have been nice to have been able to order a coffee or soft drink during the day whilst sitting out overlooking the lake.

It's like a small paradise with a breathtaking view at the Atitlan lake. The hotel is surrounded by flowers, trees and a lot of plants. You can watch hummingbirds and other birds. The stuff is very helpful. They organise tours for you, if you want. The breakfast was delicious and also the food. I loved this place and extended my stay. I can only recommend this place.

My first room hat a bad smell from the bathroom Stuff doesn't speak any English
