The Taj really was exceptional in every way. I enjoyed my stay here so much. I was able to enjoy the facilities, from the pool and hot tub to the spa to the multiple amazing restaurants in the hotel. Breakfast is included and is a stunning array of Indian and Western foods. I loved the aesthetic of the hotel, which is modern with touches of traditional Indian furnishings, it is absolutely stunning. I also had a massage and manicure at the hotel, and the level of attention of the staff was incredible, it was such a great experience. The staff also helped me find a taxi when I couldn’t call an Uber one night and were incredibly helpful and attentive to everything I might need. Thank you so much to everyone at the Taj, I loved my stay here!

I thought the staff were nice and the bed and the bedding was lovely. The room is nice and had a lovely lobby area A.choice of 3 restaurants and a pool side resturant bar. Great location.

I had some issues with some of the food quality but generally it was good but not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Some of the facilities are a little tired and out dated such as the spa and pool area. Things were not fixed and broken. It was expensive for what it is and not the best of value but nice nonetheless

Very good Breakfast with a variety of choices. Service and the staff from the gate watchman to the receptionists to the waiters and housekeeping were very good and professional. The Chinese restaurant was also excellent.

The quality of tea at the breakfast could be improved. For example I asked for English Breakfast Tea and Darjeeling Tea on different days, they were not good as expected in a five star hotel. We would have liked to have plugs for phone charging on both sides of the bed.

The property is one of the most hospitable ones I’ve visited. what sets a good and great hotel apart is the willingness to make the guests feel at home. The dining options are amazing, we specially liked trying out the bengali food at Sonargaon. We ordered a fruit cake which was one of the best we had! The housekeeping team headed by Mr. Subrata do an excellent job every day to keep the place impeccable. The managers reached out to us and helped make the stay extremely comfortable. This was a made a memorable trip for us.

Impeccable service as always. Taj Bengal is an oasis in the midst of Kolkata and feels akin to coming home. The family and I were returning to Kolkata for the first time following the pandemic and the stay at Taj made it all the more special. We were very grateful to the kind and attentive staff from the concierge to the check in staff and to those in its many restaurants who made our children feel included and welcome at all times & went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Thank you! Staff were always attentive without being intrusive which is a rare talent. Taj Bengal sets the benchmark for hospitality. We cant wait to return.

Everything from start to finish. Moment when we arrived from Hyatt Regency to Taj Bengal, a very warm welcome by Bimal. Then when checked in, did not have to wait in front of the reception. Told to seat in the comfy sofa and greeted in the traditional Namaskar manner. Room was automatically upgraded to 5th floor in Chambers floor. It was an absolute British Collection style design hotel. Nothing was too much for any staff. Thee housekeeping/butler department headed by Margaret Dutta & Sunil was second to none. Room were cleaned twice a day, laundry was second to none service. Felt like James Bond 007 staying there. As we stayed 4 nights, we tried first night Chinese then next Buffet/Cal then Souk and final night Indian. Breakfast buffet had plenty choice. I loved the pool bar and inside Junction, special thanks to Raja who gave me out of his good will full jar of spicy nuts and my favourite water melon juice. I can write 4 pages how good this is. Following success of this Taj Bengal in Kolkata, I have already booked Taj Green Cove Resort & Spa Kovalam in November for 11 nights

Great overall experience. Most of the staff was extremely friendly and efficient, like the cleaning team, who had a delicate thought for my wife and I by folding a towel to the shape a a swan and added red rose petals The concierges were simply astonishing! The car drivers were great too. The indian restaurant we went to was absolutely delicious. First class hotel, without hesitation.

A relatively small and average room for the price, but it was very neat and well thought. and the bed was confortable. The only real negative point regarding this hotel are the bathrooms (I say "they" because I saw two rooms): they should be refurbished I think.

The staff was amazing, super helpful and very kind. The room was very comfortable, with a nice view and the beds were also very comfortable. The food was very nice and the kitchen very accomnodating (we are vegetarians, don't take gluten or onion and garlic).

The bathroom door was not closing so that was a little tricky with our little boy and the bathroom felt a bit too dark. We would love to see a few more gluten free options on the menu and onion and garlic free options as well.

what is not to like about a 5 star hotel? Taj meets all the criteria. for westerners traveling in India, Taj provides a safe haven where we can eat the food, drink the water, and experience the luxuries of home but with a very classy Indian flavor. I was able to host my family gathering in the Promenade lounge area, which offered a nice selection of snacks, meals and of course, tea and chai masala.

Everything was great. During check in there was a little sanfoo as I'd only booked the room for one, but my partner was staying with me, which created a small curfufle (relations between men and women outside of marriage are frowned upon) but luckily that was cleared up when they realized we were a couple and that he was not some random stranger I had picked up on the streets of Calcutta!! (Haha, not sure they thought this as it was not explicitly spoken, but the first woman helping us was very flustered upon hearing the room was for two and with a man who had a different last name than myself! The second woman apologized profusely and was very accomodating.)

The room I was given was a very nice and spacious room with a view of the road. I definitely recommend the stay if you are visiting places near Alipore or Esplanade. It's a very beautifully arranged room. I got excellent service in the room while ordering water or food and the people were very prompt in doing so anytime during the booking. Overall an excellent stay for short or long trips.

The Check-in experience was bad. The staff took a long time to check me in. The toilet flush button was working but the water kept flowing until you flush a second time. The intercom was a little outdated and it was sometimes not working as expected.
