Stayed before and enjoyed returning back. Multiple 5 star restaurants, great breakfast choices, excellent bars, superb spa/pool/gym area. The staff are very helpful and polite. In recognition to the staff and hotel, I want to call out Ms Prabhneet front desk manager who assisted in returning a valuable personal item we had left behind when we returned back to London. For anyone planning on staying here this is truly a world class hotel, with a history that is attached to its legacy. One more thing, the rooms & floors of this hotel are perfect for a peaceful stay. Silent.

Delhi air pollution.

Beautiful architecture and interiors - the common spaces (lobby, atrium, corridors, coffee shop etc) are classy and elegant. It's great that the hotel did not choose to "modernise" its spaces, which would have ruined its charm, and instead preserve the lovely old-world features of the property. Food (breakfast, coffee shop fare, Spice Route restaurant) was excellent. Staff are excellent - very helpful and provide great service without being intrusive.

Room size was quite small for such an expensive / luxury property - we booked the Imperial room. Decided against upgrading to a Heritage room, as it seems they are not much bigger (we understand that they only have a small dressing space added). Bathroom was quite small. Very few towels provided and the towels were rather worn out and frayed looking. Hot water in the the washbasin never materialised - they explained that this is because it travels a long way to reach the room so you need to run the tap for a long time. It felt wasteful to do this - so we were washing our hands with cold water though our stay. While we are all for preserving the old world charm of this lovely property - this is definitely an aspect the hotel should consider modernising.

Breakfast divine! Huge selection of Indian and Western breakfast a la carte options - the waffles and dosa were wonderful! The chai tea was good but could be sweeter, but that's my preference. The earl gray tea was tasty. The rooms were cool, clean and spacious. The smell of jasmine waffled aorund the hotel was beautiful. All the staff were very helpful and professional.

A few of the younger staff in the bar were fighting and arguing with each other. I think the small in stature boy got offended by something. We had to wait 10 minutes to get served at the bar. The complimentary nuts at the bar and in the room were not fresh so we passed on eating them due to hygiene.

There is 5* and the Imperial 5*, class, style and history. All 800 staff smile and are polite and very attentive to your needs. They're all obviously proud of their hotel and the management has the ambition to be the best in India, a dangerous combination for all other hotels. In my opinion they either are no 1 or very close to it. I first stayed in 1996 and it had style then but was run down, my last visit was in 2005 when the hotel had been upgraded significantly. Today, WOW, new stunning pool area has replaced the old one and breakfast terrace area extended into garden area. makes it the best in every respect. Attention to detail is everwhere - at breakfast the teapot and milk jug handles have small cushions around them to stop you burning your fingers, thats if you can lift them theyre so heavy, but dont fear theres always an attentive person nearby to pour the tea for you. Room was stunning with seperate bath, shower and a walk in wardrobe. Whilst staying there the toilet flush broke resulting in constantly gurgling running water, one phone call and within 15 mins the plumber was there to fix the problem - where else would that happen. Breakfast wide choice and ambient atmosphere, where else can you sit and have breakfast on the table where the historic partition of India documents were signed by Churchill, Nehru and Jinnah - History. Overall a fantastic hotel / museum in a good location near the janpath markets and value for money 10 out of 10, If I ever return to Delhi, I know where I'm staying.

Very Little, maybe the airport pick up was a bit expensive for a people carrier but it did the job. If you have a bath then maybe bubble bath should be provided.

Okay, if I tell you that I liked everything that doesn't really help you. So where shall I start? Check-in was a breeze. The room was spacious and very comfortable with perfect air conditioning and a wonderful shower! Nice desk to work from and very fast charging points for our mobile phones. Breakfast? Oh wow... there was a selection of everything. Continental, fuit, toast, pain au chocolat, pancakes, waffles, muesli and last and most the omlette... The spicy omlette with geen chili in it was to die for. The pool (olympic sized?! Not quite, but you get my drift) with the hot tub was an amazing way to relax. Absolutely lovely. The staff? Perfect. All of them. Exceptional. Very attentive but not intrusive and ALWAYS courteous and polite. Thank you. They even booked a guide for us in Agra to go round the Taj Mahal... and when I had to extend my stay there was no problem whatsoever.

I really can't think of anything that I did not like. I mean... even every light bulb in the room worked. So I don't feel I can fault anything.

The quality of everything was top notch: service, room, food, and pool. As an architect, I especially appreciated the quality of the design, construction, finishes, and furnishings of the building. The tall ceilings, high-contrast white walls and dark furnishings, and highly polished exquisite marbles in the neoclassical wings - were equally rivaled by the perfection and high-quality Art Deco detailing of the other portions of the building. The interior of the Spice Route restaurant and the tour we received of it by staff was also stunning. My husband, an artist, and I also greatly enjoyed the museum-like atmosphere of all the historic prints on the walls. We wandered the halls admiring them. The concierge was also especially helpful at arranging an excellent day trip for us to Agra. Location was walkable to the Jantar Mantar observatory and to Connaught Circle.

The mid-May heat index over 110 degrees Fahrenheit was daunting but the hotel was always cool, clean and welcoming. It did however mean that we needed to do laundry more frequently and in addition to the by-the-piece pricing which is typical of 5-star hotels, I would have appreciated being able to do some bulk laundry. Also- I could always use a few more hooks in the bathroom on which to hang towels for re-use.

What an amazing stay we had at the Imperial! The staff were so kind and professional. They treated us like Royals! The hotel is simply stunning, the architecture and decoration are a must. I spent a whole hour strolling around the hotel and it was amazing. Everything is just woah! We got upgraded to a suite that was very spacious and so comfortable! The service is perfect, the staff really ensure that you are having the best stay. They are always happy to help you with any query you might have and they really made me feel at home. The gym is also great, the machines are brand new and there are many options. Bonus point for the cold towels available at the end of your workout! The swimming pool is also amazing, it is a little bubble of relaxation in the heart of busy Delhi. Looking forward to my next trip Delhi so that I can come back to the Imperial!

There is absolutely nothing not to like!

November 2023

My stay at The Imperial is always wonderful. However, before my November visit, I stayed in June of this year and found that the price of my stay most recently was much more expensive. However, I noticed on Booking.com that there were deals available for a much cheaper stay on the weekend I was there. I had booked in advance so had to pay the original cost attached to my earlier booking. I requested an extension to the use of my room which was far too expensive…but given I was already paying above the cost for that weekend and that I come regularly…perhaps a compromise could have been made for the extended use of my room? A little disappointing.

All perfect

The hotel is beautiful: everything rooms, corridors, the 3 restaurants and the 3 bars. Very nice are the pictures and the figurines in the corridors. As a guest you feel welcome here. The staff is very friendly and there is always someone ready to assist. The location is perfect, in the middle of New Delhi at a short distance of tourist highlights.

The airconditioning in the room was not functioning. But the staff reacted perfectly and provided me another room for sleeping, while I could also keep the first room for my stuff.

My stay at the Imperial Hotel Delhi was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, the luxurious ambiance and impeccable service wowed me. The elegantly designed room provided a comfortable haven, and the culinary offerings were a true treat for my taste buds. The hotel's central location made exploring the city a breeze, and returning to the hotel felt like coming home to luxury and comfort. It was an unforgettable experience that I would gladly repeat. Enjoyed watching my grandson's pure joy as he splashed in the pool.

I don't recollect experiencing any inconsistencies. If there were any, they were overshadowed by the overall exceptional experience and the hotel's dedication to providing a luxurious and memorable stay.
