New Delhi YMCA Tourist Hostel

I definitely recommend this place for a stay in Delhi. First of all it’s clean. Comparing to other hotels in India which I’ve been to, this one is really clean (as for India standard which is super low). The staff is very helpful. I had a room with a street view so it wasn’t quiet, but you can always ask for a room on the other side of the building. AC in the room works and is very quiet. There is hot water in the bathroom (yes, it’s an exception in India). The pool is located in the nearby sport Center so hostel guests can use it only 1-2h per day as per schedule. It’s not a pool to relax but swim. There is 24h security, which is important as homeless people don’t enter to ask you for money (true problem in Delhi). Hostel is located in nice area, safe to walk alone. Food is Indian, so guests from abroad do not expect typical European or continental dishes. Beds are super comfy and linen clean and nice.

If you’re planning to go to the pool, I advise to wear something more than sexy bikini as you will be watched by locals. Ladies there have full body swimming suits.

The location was ideal, nestled in a safe neighbourhood. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Moreover, the food served was delightful. Overall, a highly recommended experience.

The functionality of the locks was subpar during my stay, and I encountered difficulties reaching reception or room service from my room. Additionally, the window lock was broken. It would be beneficial for the management to address these maintenance issues promptly to enhance the overall guest experience.

I love the old world charm, the pace the feeling of space, its going back to 1990's, location is the best feature of this hostel as proximity to the town center is great, I love this, breakfast and lunch are simple but like home made food, it feels good. Dinner is better however I was having diner outside so did not eat dinner.

With still work going on, there is noise in the day time, my room the phone was not working which was fixed later but that shows it was not checked when room was made ready. There should be drinking water and glasses in the room, this was not there.

Location is brilliant( Connaught Place, Metro, Visa applicstion st VFS , Jantar Mantar) all withinn easy walking distance. The staff were effiicent and attentive. We loved the breakfasts as although there was not a huge choice , there was always a freshly prepared South Indian dish ( idli, puri/ bhajee) as well as the usual porridge, cereal, omlette....so good for veg or Indian veg diets. This is our new go-to place when staying in Delhi.

The beds were lumpy and a little soft. We are used to orthoepaedic matresses at home.

The rooms ( walls and fittings) require a facelift .

1. TV in the room did not work 2. Plumbing issues - water closet was leaking / overflowing, Shower didn't work 3. Room location in the property not great - right above a place where debris & waste material was dumped. On one of the days, there was some noisy dumping / lifting going on at 4:30 AM

Excellent location, courteous and helpful staff, clean and safe. YMCA Tourist Hostel has a homely ambience, the rooms are basic but comfortable and the dining facilities are adequate. This is the reason I have been going back to this place each time I've been in New Delhi for the past fifty years.

The plumbing could be improved and the breakfast could have more on offer.

Overall a satisfying stay; the hostel staff quite courteous. It's a prime location close to CP and the central districts convenient for office work / leisure activities. The arrangements and services provided at the dining hall are very good.

There are leaking taps in the bathroom near the shower that needs attention.

Location and some of the facilities like gym and swimming pool are good for this price . Staff was also cooperative and friendly Every place from here is just 10 to 20 mins drive

Rooms should have been renovated a little. These look like very old and little stinky. Breakfast was also not so good. The mattress was not comfortable.

Excellent Breakfast with very friendly Service. Everything was perfect.. My favorite was the breakfast. An excellent choice of healthy options.. The bed was large and very comfortable and I like the colour and the decor in the room. It was very tastefully done... Reception Staff very friendly, fast and obliging. I was very happy to be given a nice service..
