The hotel is beautiful. My lake view room was superb. the bed was huge and comfortable. There were lovely areas to sit and enjoy the vistas. Breakfast food is nothing great…not many healthy options or choices for vegans. No options such as soy, almond or oat milk.

When checking out a man I assume was the manager said to me “your face cloth is very stained, you need to buy a new one. “ he was holding it in his hand. It was not make up….it was dark brown with some areas that looked like grease. I told him “look at me, where do you suppose I would have used that to create these stains? ? He said “well the cleaners found it in your room. “. I told him that is not possible. He again told me to pay for it. I was there 3 nights and spent over $1000. REALLY.? Why would a 75 year old single woman have cleaned the floor or anything with that wash cloth? It really spoiled an otherwise nice stay. I refused to pay.

Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in a beautiful pichola lake view suite for 5 nights was spectacular. Having had holidays in 96 different countries and at least 500+ different hotel rooms, the cavernous Maharaja was definitely the most blingy with cut pieces of mirror covering all the ceilings and detailed murals covering the walls made our room very special. Expensive at £300 per room per night, but good value compared to say the Taj Palace at £500 per night. The rooftop restaurant with uninterrupted lake and palace views served very good food at reasonable prices and was ideal for a memorable romantic St Valentines evening meal !

Very limited breakfast choice

exepctataions were not great considering it was only rated 3 star hotel, however they have kept the hotel very well and location can not get better then this.If it had the required size it would easily qualify for 5 star so look no further. Food in this restaurant including breakfast was very good. restaurant was always busy due to amaizing views and lot of non hotel guests want to explore this so they do visit restaurant. We booked three rooms one of which was non-lake facing suit which would be my reccomondation due to few reasons. it is on roof top terrece with best views once you come out of room and room is very specious. hotel staff was very friendly and helped us a lot during our stay.

getting to this hotel is not possible with Car. while I understand the limitations and it is goverment regulated, it can be communicated better before the stay on how we can come to hotel. they can pick you up at some goverment parkings in their auto or can also pick you in their boat to one of the pier. i would suggest call them before your stay to work that out. we got little freak out due to long car ride, lot of luggage and kids with us on arrival when found car cant go to hotel.

Lakefront restaurant to enjoy breakfasts in the morning. Had dinner on their rooftop restaurant. Beautiful mirrored room.

Found service very slow during our dinner. Breakfast menu stated breakfast to be served between 7-10am We were there along with another foreign couple and only fruit and tea was available. We were told breakfast will be ready in another half an hour! I showed him the menu sheet saying 7-10am and only then they started rushing to load the food. Complained at the front desk, ‘very sorry but breakfast starts at 7:30am’ we pointed out the menu sheet saying 7-10am as well as we were supposed to leave early in the morning.

After reading the mixed reviews around I was a bit skeptical but thank God I went ahead with the booking!! Room was excellent and view of lake was so soothing. Fortunately, we got a ground floor room(its a blessing with a toddler in tow), the staff was very courteous and made our stay really memorable. Location of this place is excellent with the vibe around, known for every corner picture perfect I couldn't agree less.

Not that I didn't like, but was disappointed every time we tried to get a window lake facing seat at the restaurant. As its open to non-residents as well. People occupy the hot seats(picture perfect) corners of the restaurant and spend hours to get good pictures.

Superb location and stunning hotel. Our room was such a delight that it was hard to leave 😂.

There was not really anything to dislike apart from how long it took to get our food one evening we ate dinner there. The restaurant was very busy but they seemed short staffed as well and we did end up waiting over an hour and then they brought our starters together with the mains so there was some confusion. We ate there again the next night and the staff took great pains to ensure that we had a much better experience. It is important to note that cars cannot go directly to the hotel so you need to call the hotel to send their auto rickshaws to pick guests and luggage up

1. The property is located in Old City, 300 Meters away from City Palace, but once you are in the property, it's super quiet and peaceful. 2. It is 100 meters from the main shopping street, where you get all the artefacts and antiques. 3. The restaurant has continental and Indian cuisine. 4. The property is on Lake Pichola; from this hotel, we get to see Taj Lake View, Oberio Udaivillas, and Leelas - all the high-end property around the lake, which provides beautiful views during the sunset. 5. The rooftop restaurant is a must-visit, providing a panoramic view of Lake Pichola. 6. I will stay in the same property if I visit again.

Nothing.

We booked the Heritage room for our two nights stay in Udaipur. When we checked in, I was quite upset to see our room didn't have the Jharokha which the booking details said it would. Discussed this with the reception, and they offered us a room change for day 2 and two complimentary spas to compensate for day 1, which was very nice. On day 2, to our surprise the property upgraded us to the Presidential suite in the terrace. We were so happy and impressed with the room and management that we chose to stay in the property the whole afternoon and evening, and dined at the hotel rooftop restaurant Chandni two nights in a row. Ishwar from the front desk ensured our experience was above and beyond, so thank you for the same.

Jagat Niwas Palace October 2023 Beautiful Hotel on the Lakeside overlooking the Taj Palice, which is in the centre of the lake. It has a good restaurant on the roof terrace and on the floor below. Beautiful views at sunset from the terrace restaurant. The food was excellent and well presented. The staff were all very helpful and caring. There are lake facing rooms and garden facing rooms. The former are about £100 per night extra. We stayed in the garden facing room which is basically overlooking the corridor, which in turn overlooks the central courtyard. This was perfectly satisfactory as you could view the lake from the terrace if you wanted. We stayed an extra night. As there was not any availability left for our room, we were offered a cheaper room at £60 per night. These have only just been completed at the time of this review. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and finish. They opened onto a back stairwell to both the terrace and/or reception. A stained glass window opened over a back area. Perfectly acceptable. It was modern and opulent, well worth the £60. There was another room on the ground floor ,I think, that we refused. It was tucked underneath near the ground floor stairs and which the small window overlooked. Not facing the courtyard. The streets nearby seemed safe with small shops selling everything. There are plenty of tuck tucks outside which will give you an hour long tour for about £2. to £3. Very enjoyable stay. Breakfast Included. Colin and Ann touring India and Sri Lanka from England

The entrance to the hotel is a bit underwhelming. Just a passage way between shops.

We were enchanted by the architecture & decor of the hotel & were charmed by our spacious lake view room with irresistible window seat enticing us to lie back & imbibe the beauty of the view. The large bed was very comfortable & the shower spacious & well equipped. We enjoyed the breakfast area & romantic rooftop restaurant with stunning views. The breadth & standard of the menu we found excellent & and every member of staff was kind & attentive.

The fact that we had to leave! Only one tiny issue that the half bottle of red wine we saved for a second night had been put in the fridge.
