Great location right on the beach, away from the busier areas of the island which we enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They have their own boat to take you out for private snorkeling tours which was again great value for money and right on your doorstep.

Our room was a little too close to where the live music was being played. The live musician was awesome, but I’m often early to bed so was unable to sleep until it finished around 10:30pm both nights. Not necessarily a bad thing just something to be aware of!

One of my best stays during whole trip! Money and quality ratio is very good. Overall feeling - 18 out of 10 I stayed 3 nights and during it I become feel like a family member. Never experienced such a connection in a hotel. Location The location of a facility for me was very good. It is located beachfront on the side of an island where you can admire best sunsets. Maybe you have to cary your backpack from harbour first and last day, but it is wort it. Facilities It is a 3 star hotel not 5. So maybe you can miss some luxury facilities, but this place is for enjoying a vibe of Gili so it has everything to make you happy. Helpful staff, beachfront with free sunbeds and umbrellas, restaurant with a bar, pool, events, services (loundry, snorkling). Specials As a special I would mention a STAFF here. They have the vibe! And its not an official show of of trained service its like a family where everyone has its own responsibility and enjoy a job they do. There are also OWNERS, a great smart and helpfull family, which stay all the time all around, they take care of every guest need and make this place even more special with adding their own twist to a place. As specials I would also mention a possibility to jave a PRIVATE BOAT ride for snorkling. Great guide which show me the nice places for snorkling including swimming with a turtles. Great opportunity to switch off the touristic way of this activity. EVENTS. For my taste best live music events. They happen every second day. Best because of a quality of singers and music. And everything happens directly on a beach. You can relax on a beanie chair, explore near a dining table or dance in front of stage. Strong recomendations!

Not worth to mention. Everything great with a very proper attitude and vision.

The location is the main attraction and didn’t disappoint. The views by the beach, especially during sunset, are spectacular. The staff were absolutely top class - always welcoming and always ready to help with anything you need. The only thing to be aware of is the Wednesday night party on the beach at the bar next door (Legend Bar). If you want to sleep early then don’t bother; just go ahead and join the party until the early hours! Top tip: there is a short cut if you are heading to the south of the island. Leave the cottages from the opposite side of the beach. Just turn right at the end and you join the main route south where there are small markets, warungs and restaurants (check out the burgers at I Am Bagus).

If I was pushed for a negative I would maybe mention the free breakfast. The choice was very limited, albeit a welcoming start to the day.

The location, right in front of a super nice beach. I really enjoyed every single breakfast I had there :) The place is also quite far from the mosque, so you don’t hear it that much from there, which is a real plus compared to other places. My cottage was super spacious, well furnished and clean. Bed was large and confortable. Super friendly staff, I’ll definitely go back there !

My partner and I loved our stay at Pelangi Cottages. The staff here were so lovely and friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay. They arranged a fishing trip and snorkelling trip for us which were both great. The hotel is in the perfect location to watch a beautiful sunset on the beach every night. The live music on Tuesday and Thursday night was brilliant and very popular. We enjoyed the food and the variety of cocktails.

I really enjoyed my stay at Pelangi cottages! It’s a bit far from the Harbour, but the good thing is, that it’s not so crowded then. Nice beach and staff is super friendly and always happy for a chat. The room was huge! Loved the bed and the mattress was super comfortable. I slept really good during my stay. I booked a snorkeling tour there for 4 hours and can highly recommend it! Bring some cash as you’ll be able to get some lunch in between.

Maybe avoid staying there on a Wednesday since it’s party night until 3am and you won’t be able to sleep at all…

The beach! You walk from your house to the beach in 20 steps. I felt like this was the only hotel on the island with the beach so close. You can lay on the beach, have breakfast at a table, go back to lay on the beach. Perfect for lazy days of doing absolutely nothing! And the people are so nice! Just make sure you get a taxi more than 1 hr before your boat leaves ;)

Look, it’s not very clean, the beds are not the best, salty water from the shower…but look past this and you will leave feeling very rested and relaxed!

The location is amazing. The best part of the island in my opinion, it's away from the more crowded harbor side but also close to other restaurants, bars etc. We want to give a special shout-out to 'Munich 'who was amazing and took our stay to the next level, Munich was so attentive and seemed to mind-read exactly what we needed. Thank you Munich!!! The beach out the front is gorgeous, with a lovely clear area you can swim in located in front of Pelangi Cottages. Gilli Air is an island surrounded by a large coral reef, you do need reef shoes and I also recommend bringing your own snorkel and face mask as the ones we used leaked very badly. We were able to snorkel straight off the beach. We loved our stay and will be back.

The bathrooms are pretty basic, and showers are saltwater (however I believe this is the case all over the Island) this didn't bother us but may be an issue for others.

Great beachside place. Their weekly entertainment of singers and fire dancer was amazing. It meant you had peaceful days and enjoyable nights. They had a great selection of 2-1 cocktails all day and food was nice and reasonably priced. The rooms themselves were huge and each had their own adorable porch. The staff went above and beyond for every request. We went all around Gili air and we kept coming back here as it was the most enjoyable place. I would come back to Bali just to stay here again!

Position on beach was glorious at sunset . Our bungalow was roomy and a short walk to beach and pool surrounded by greenery. Staff amazingly helpful. Good food and spot to explore north of island… thank you Munich for arranging private snorkelling trip ! You need to take horse taxi from port or walk 30 mins exploring town. Live music and fresh fish BBQ a bonus on Thurs Friday nights

It’s right on beach so sand everywhere! They have high tides every two weeks and that’s really only when you can swim easily from shore . I got food poisoning one night but my partner didn’t so beware calamari ! Shower bases are pebbles .. I like natural but would have preferred a couple of tiles to stand on. Also missed my Decaf/ real coffee! No cafetière or real coffee machine
