The villa is in the heart of Ubud, my friend and I wanted a authentic Balinese experience and we truly experienced that staying here in Samkhya. The rooms were clean, the pool was nice and the breakfast was lovely. The location was great and most importantly the staff members and the people made our stay even more enjoyable and memorable.

I love the properly, nothing to dislike.

Wayan, front of house is an absolute delight & made our stay all the more memorable! It can be quite hard to find the drop off point as it’s actually on the main road, then a golf cart will take you & your luggage to the Villas. Gorgeous little drive through rice fields & our villa overlooked the jungle. Very clean, food & bar onsite & staff are excellent! Lovely area close to restaurants & we were able to walk into town through the rice fields & back roads.

Our slightest criticism would be the doors in our Villa (no 7) especially the outdoor toilet/bathroom, we’re quite hard to close. Also, the rocks out in the shower area (which was beautiful) were really slippery when wet! BE careful!

We loved the location of the villa. It was close to the city but in the quite and calm area. Also the private pool although small but still was one of our favorite parts 🙂 also biggest compliments to the stuff, they all there very helpful and simply nice to us.

Some parts of the Villa really needs renovation. Also keep in mind that you are close to nature in these villas and can spot a wildlife (frogs, lizards and even snake). This didn’t bother us so much but to be completely honest we’ve seen a snake in our first night in hotel. Never again after that but in dark hours we always used telephone lights to properly see the way.

I had absolutely amazing time at this hotel. the staff — omg guys, i’m so thankful 🙏🏻 the best people, that made my stay absolutely fantastic, helped with any requests and questions as fast as the thunderbolt. THANK YOU, i’m forever grateful and definitely will stay in this hotel again just because of such an amazing service. the hotel itself is beautiful and located in a quiet area, away from busy streets and city center. it will take you just 15 min to get to ubud palace by bike. but it could be a little bit channeling if you can’t drive — you will depend on the Grab/Gojek apps and it’s not always easy to find a driver, especially in a early mornings. the area is very quiet, and although it’s pretty dark at night and could be a little bit scary — it is a very safe neighborhood and I didn’t have any problems going home at late evening. besides that, there’s always someone at the reception, even at night there’s a guard at the reception so you’re 100% safe. I liked the villa, it was super private, quiet. I had the feeling that i’m alone in whole hotel — even though it was fully booked. beautiful jungle view, cosy bed, nice bathroom with big mirrors. I wished I booked it for a month and not for 12 days. definitely will comeback. ps — I did come back with the second time in this hotel and the staff welcomed me with warm greetings and words "welcome back home”. that made me almost tear up. omg guys. I love you. you’re amazing and good people! for the second time I stayed with a rice view villa and it was slightly less private as there’s a little road just bellow the villas with a very little traffic from bikes and local farmers. but it still was quiet at night so I didn’t have any problems with that. but keep in mind that if you wish for total privacy you should book jungle view villas. the rice view villas need a little love with fixing some minor things, but it wasn’t a problem for me at all.

This place was amazing!! The staff were so nice and accommodating with everything! We had an issue with not having hot water and they got it fixed straight away! The villa is breathtaking and everything is quite close together so you can walk out to reception where they will then take you to get a buggy to the main road and you can either Gojek or get a taxi from there into town. It’s far enough away that you need to get a ride into the Main Street but that keeps it’s quite with is really nice!

Very close to Ubud centre and the property offers free shuttle service to ubud centre. Bike rental 50m from the hotel so can negotiate great prices. the staff are very friendly and hospitable. very responsive through WhatsApp good value for money drinks in the bar. Nice private pool. everything was clean and presentable.

Private pool has no lights so can become unusable at night for people who have fear of bugs. The electrical outlets need repair as some were faulty and some broken. breakfast served in the room became cold by the time it arrives even though the kitchen was just outside the Villa. Taste also needs work!

The hotel is difficult to be found .Only a small sign but no reception on the main road.From there a buggy will get you to the reception. Our two bedroom villa no 10 provided privacy and was surrounded by jungle.Two sepereted air conditioned rooms with a connecting well equipped kitchen with a big fridge. The temperature of the medium sized pool was rather cool as it was constantly under the shade of the trees. There is a free shuttle three times to Ubud starting at 10am and four times back the last being at 10pm. There is a restaurant at the hotel for breakfast and meals but you can get them in your villa as well which we did.Moreover there is a massage service on site. The gem of Shamkha villas are the staffs.Always there for you covering all your needs .Fabulously attentive effecient and friendly.Thank you guys. The price of 300,00 euros per night that we paid for the specific villa is rather expensive. The photos displayed on booking.com are quite accurate. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we recommend the villa for your vacation.

The difficulty in finding the hotel

Truly your home away from home. Villa was spacious , serene , and had everything you could need. My words cannot do the views justice but wow! You’ll just have to see it! Appreciated the buggy service to and from the city center. Just be mindful of the timings As they run at a set schedule. Close to the center but far enough to not here all the traffic. Staff were super friendly and informative. They answered all our questions patiently and even helped accommodated our dinner plans at the nearby restaurant Kubu (need to reserve in advance !!!). Special thank you to Wyung, Mary, and Pande Breakfast was superb and needs to be selected the night before. I believe breakfast is offered from 7:30 to 10 however to go boxes can be prepped if you need it earlier for an excursion.

The only inconvenience we had which is more so s property management issue kit staff related ; there are certain part of the hotel which are made of limestone and have moss growing on it. When it rains which is often, it’s quite dangerous to walk on and I caught myself slipping several times.

Everything was perfect, the Villa is beautiful, the food from the restaurant is amazing, and the best part is the STAFF, everyone is so friendly, so helpful and welcoming, the girl at the reception said that this would be our second home, and there was no better description for it. This was the best experience in a hotel in my whole life, I will be back for sure.
