It was a fantastic stay. One thing perhaps would bother you if a light sleeper is that walls are quite thin so you (and your dog) can hear a lot of what’s going on in other rooms / if people come back late

The location just beside the Ocean was a factor, when I was deciding to book this place - and when I've arrived and entered the house - it was like a big Wow!!:-)) the atmosphere, the house is beautifully and tastefully decorated, cozy and comfy living room where you can just sit and relax whenever you wish:-) - the bedroom was already ready:-) the communication with the host was just excellent - I was kept informed about any update well in advance - room number, the access, the facilities, etc. You have the access to the dining room and the living room all the time, and you can make a nice cup of tea or coffee and grab a snack or a fruit. There are books available, and TV also - apart from the telly in your room. Sue as a host is just fantastic - she welcomes you with a smile, and is ready to give any advice if needed. I would also strongly recommend to get a session of reflexology - Sue is an expert in this field. There are plenty of good restaurants and other shops [amazing bookshop with Harry Potter's corner!] nearly at your doorstep, and the Westport House is within the walking distance through the nice park - but at the same time this is a quiet area, so you can really relax. Still the town centre is within walking distance also. I have stayed just two nights with my daughter at The Waterside B&B and we both had a wonderful time there - definitely will be back!

The location was excellent ...... not in the busy centre of town, but on the waterfront of the estuary and harbour with beautiful views and ideal for walks and quiet evening meals and sunsets. It is approx a 30min walk in to the centre of town. The property is ideal for visiting Westport House and the beautiful grounds and it is an ideal place to stay to access the wider area of Mayo. We visited lots of amazing places, all within an hour drive. There is free roadside parking around the B&B, but if they are taken then there are lots of pay and display spaces around the harbour at a very reasonable rate for overnight/all day parking.

the location was great for restaurants and bars also to walk to Westport house and grounds . great walks also close to the greenway for biking.

The location was great, right on the harbor. It was about a mile walk into town, but there were plenty of food and drink options near by the hotel. We had an view of the bay from our room, it was lovely. The room was large and offered a little sofa as well. Checking in was smooth and we had no issues.

The beds were not the best, but they got the job done. Also, the shower in our room seemed to be missing 1/2 the glass door. I think it was intentional, but it made showering a little more complicated trying not to get water everywhere.

The location is exceptional, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They were always available to meet my needs quickly. And they were extremely accommodating. The boiler went out and they offered to put me up in a hotel with no additional cost. I didn't want to leave so they brought me a space heater. I was warm and cozy. And to top it all off, they compensated me by allowing me to stay through the weekend at no additional cost. Oh, and then offered to drive me up north to my next destination! I couldn't ask for better hosts or a better experience. Truly above and beyond what could ever be expected.

firstly the view is amazing! right on the waterfront . secondly the customer service was second to none , everyone went over & above to ensure all our needs were catered for, we were attending a wedding & my luggage went missing Sue was exceptional she provided me with basic toiletries and took me to the shops personally late at night to get the rest. she pointed me in the right direction to get clothing , her recommendations were spot on! Barney was super helpful & engaging and again his hospitality was over and above providing my son with a breakfast gratis as his accommodation was poor The breakfast was fantastic although I was initially disappointed as no hot food was provided the fare offered was exceptional! I cannot fault our stay my only regret is I wish we could have stay longer the location is excellent & I would thoroughly recommend this place to stay.

Not a fault but a little old & creaky

Fantastic location and amazing views from the room. Sue is a great hostess, she makes you feel at home from the moment you step through the door. Whether sharing tips to visit the area, local knowledge or a bit of a chat, she is there to make you stay comfortable, but she also gives you space and privacy 10/10. Ludmila, the accomodation assistant, is a really nice lady, helpful and kind. No fuss continental breakfast, with plenty of coffee, pastries, toasts and fruit. Getting a piece of fruit and a cookie to go kept us going. The place was warm as a toast, even though outside was cold and windy. Our room was facing the quay and main road and it was very quiet.

The bathroom could do with a make over as it looks a bit dated and with a thicker window blind, but in saying that, the bathroom is very clean and in perfect working order.

The guesthouse is clean and good value for money. The view from the room is incredible and the amenities are good. Was super relieved there was a hairdryer! Sue is friendly and welcoming - so thankful that she could lend me a plug because I forgot my travel adapter!

Overall, zero complaints but I will mention that it’s not ideal for visitors who rely on public transport as the buses only come past every few hours and none at night. If you have a car, it’s perfect! And the breakfast was grab and go, if paid for separately. Think it’s continental style on weekends. So it’s more of a guesthouse than a B&B but still good value for money.
