Location across from the waterfront was perfect, the view from the balcony was lovely and we had sun on the balcony in the afternoons. The staff were lovely and most helpful with directions etc. There was a lovely terrace at the front whereby we enjoyed coffee and wine at different times of the day. Drink prices were very reasonable.

No lift to room, as my mother who accompanied me used a stick, the lack of a lift was inconvenient, however staff lifted our cases to and from our room. Lack of fresh fruit at breakfast, it was tinned fruit cocktail, however coffee, croissants,bread rolls etc were plentiful and tasty.

It's a 3 star hotel but for me it was like 4 🌟. I expected to be good because of all the good reviews , however it exceeded my expectations. Everything was perfect. Staff very professional , kind ,nice and helpful . All of them .🥰 Great breakfast. Very , very clean room with all the utilities , and amazing view from the balcony. Location perfect , very close to the old town , and you can only enjoy the walking 🥰 Fully recommend!!! Best in town! When I will return to Alghero I will definitely come back to El Balear.💗💗💗 Thank you all for all your efforts!!!

I was so happy with my room. It had everything I needed in all the right places. My single room was well designed with thought for the customer in mind. My room and the rest of the hotel was so clean. Staff in all areas of the hotel, reception, housekeeping and breakfast room were all so friendly, helpful and welcoming that someone is really good at recruiting the right people or they receive great training! Or both

There was nothing i didn't like. As a suggestion for here ( dinners) and everywhere in Alghero...there could be more vegetarian options

Regrettably we only had a one night stay Hotel El Balear as our flight arrived late close to midnight, and the staff was more than accommodating for our late arrival and upgraded us to a room with a sea for view and terrace, insisted on carrying our luggage up the stairs, as well stored our luggage in the morning as we visited the pretty town of Alghero. I noted the man at the fort desk was able to speak several languages, switching back and forth between them effortlessly. This is a sweet hotel located on a quiet street bordering the sea and is across the street from is a cool bar/cafe and a swimming cove frequented by locals for their morning swim as a well as small beach club with a couple of sun beds and umbrellas almost submersed in the beautiful blue sea. Something about the hotel gives of vibes of Italian cinema of the 1950's/1960s- even though our rooms was obviously tastefully and recently renovated. Breakfast service, (tables with white table cloths), offered a spread of anything you might want with friendly wait staff working the floor (also bordering of formal service ) We liked that the hotel located benefitted from the quieter less touristy area ( situated in a residential area)and was minutes walk from Centro storico which is denser with tourist shops, more restaurants and bars. We recommend a stay here!, and would return.

Dinner was weird, Prawns with pasta was like pureed with I guess shrimp in it ? I was expecting a prawn, silly me. Steak in a red wine sauce wasn't steak it was a very overcooked roast beef that was very dry but still somehow better than the shrimp pasta. Breakfast was weird too, salad and cold cuts, baked beans and cooked canned peas. The one thing that semi appealed to my American taste were the scrambled eggs which even though I was quite early to breakfast these were stone cold. I guess they just cater to the British and Germans etc .. but that was everywhere in Sardinia

Our four night stay at Hotel El Balear was excellent! This comfortable and pleasant sea view hotel is located in a prime location with numerous cafes nearby and only a 10 minute walk to the main part of town and the port. In front of the hotel there is a lovely promenade bordering the pristine sea, and this walkway goes to the old town. We booked a triple room with a beautiful sea view and a balcony. This well-managed hotel has friendly, helpful personnel who are eager to assist the customers. The congenial staff at the front desk helped us with luggage and assisted us with restaurant recommendations. In addition, we were impressed with the professional, friendly waiters in the breakfast room. They were highly attentive to us and offered us perfect cappuccinos. There was a generous, delicious buffet breakfast with freshly made pastries, fresh fruits, and a variety of hot selections, like eggs and bacon. We highly recommend Hotel El Balear!

The main lobby and bar needs more comfortable and inviting furniture and space.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very comfortable and the view from the window across the bay was fantastic. The breakfast and dinner provided in the restaurant was tasty with lots of choice.

Having a sea view meant that we were in the rooms at the front of the hotel where there was no lift access. This meant 2 flights of stairs every time to access the room, and it was difficult for us 'older' people with luggage, although I'm sure someone would have helped if we'd thought to ask

The location was perfect right by the coast and a short walk to the centre of the town. Antonio in reception was very helpful with recommendations for trips to local beaches, bus tickets and organising a taxi back to the airport. Breakfast was lovely with hot and cold options and the staff were on hand at all times to get more of anything you needed or coffees from the machine. The rooms were cleaned every day and left spotless.

The beds were a bit hard and the blanket itchy tended to sleep with just the sheet.

bed not very comfortable. I couldn’t get the AC to work and I was on the third floor. I didn’t want to climb down and back to ask about it, so I opened the balcony door. some small mosquitoes made my rest difficult. kept waking up to swat the little monsters. I was then told that all windows must be closed to operate the AC. There are micro switches. so after you climb to the third floor and open the balcony doors and turn on the AC to quickly cool a hot room, it won’t work.

I visited with my sister for a few days the start of May. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a Great location, just about 10min walk from Old town, beautiful by the seafront. The staff were so friendly, couldnt do enough, thanks to Mauro, Antonio and Sabrina . They were so helpful and friendly. All the team were. The rooms were clean, quirky style. Breakfast had lots of options for all. Highly recommend for value, locatiom and the service. Cant wait to go back to Alghero 😊
