This hotel is a perfect place to stay for your visit to Cala Gonone. It is located somewhat above the city center and has beautiful views of the coastline, sea and city. The pool and loungers were wonderful and we appreciated the pool towels. Breakfast was also nice and we were able to eat outside on the terrace- we did not eat dinner in the restaurant but the terrace would've provided lovely views. We appreciated that the hotel provided us with several companies they recommended for booking boat excursions with. The walk down into city for dinner took about 12 minutes. The walk back up to the hotel is certainly more strenuous as the terrain is fairly steep- we did walk back up one evening in about 15 minutes, but found that parking was not an issue in the city center and found it easier to drive and park for dinner the 2nd evening.

I recommend driving into Cala Gonone on the main SP26. Our maps had us come into town on a one-lane, two-way road that was a little more stressful than the SP26 we took when leaving!

You need a car or be prepared for an uphill walk back to the hotel from the marina and town (which we did when we couldn’t be bothered driving and it was quite nice after a big meal). When it is windy (which is often) the pool umbrellas have to be put down which can make it very hot as there is little shade. It was so hot one night the hotel aircon broke down which made it quite uncomfortable. Chose this hotel as we wanted a pool - in the Sardinian summer heat you need one. If this hotel was closer to the centre of town it would be perfect.

We had a lovely sea-view room with a small balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and it was a treat that the kitchen would make fresh eggs. The pool is excellent and there are lots of lounge chairs. It's about a 10-15 min walk down the hill into town for dinner where there are numerous excellent restaurants. The hotel staff were super friendly and a great resource for where to eat, as well as what to do and see in the area. Parking is easy.

We had a great stay, there's nothing I'd change.

I have nothing good to say about "Villa Gustui Maris" - everything has already been stated. But the hotel is not only so special because of the unbeatable view and the well-kept pool, it is the team that makes our stay unforgettable. Paola and her "family" pay attention to every little thing to make the guests pampered 24 hours a day. This is what makes Hotel Villa Gustui Maris unique. Thousand kisses to Paola!

Overall great place to stay with a beautiful view of Cala Gonone and the gulf. The staff was very nice and proactively helpful, they provided a lot of information about things to do and even provided cooler bag for trips. The breakfast was very good and had a good variety. The room was clean and had a comfortable size with a large bed.

The hotel is on the edge of the city on the hill which provides the great view but walking back from the city could be tiring.

We had a fantastic stay here! The staff could not be more helpful with anything you may need. My husband and I were tired and last minute decided to eat at the hotel restaurant for dinner. It was truly one of the best meals we had in Cala Gonone! We loved it! The breakfast is so fresh and amazing. There is always an adorable cat outside on the patio waiting for scraps which was an added bonus. :) Please note that the hotel is situated high on a hill and the walk back from town is quite steep. The hotel may benefit from implementing a shuttle of sorts as the walk isn’t suitable for someone with disabilities or advanced in age. Other than that - this is an absolute gem of a hotel, and we cannot wait to go back.

we loved everything about this property, most notably, the incredibly friendly staff, what must be one of the best views in town, and the stellar breakfast included in the price. We had a balcony view overlooking the town, which, in and of itself, was stellar and worth every penny. The pool was a perfect complement to it all, and the hotel was incredibly clean and well run. The staff were as friendly as could be, and very sweet.

Pool was clean and well set up with beds and umbrellas. The temperature of the water was a bit cold in September. The reception staff Maria and the manager Paula were very friendly and very helpful. We were able to add a night on to our stay at the beginning since our accommodation in Nuoro did not work out. Our room had a lovely patio and sea view. Unfortunaely the internet in our room was not working so this was not convenient. However we made do by using the lobby to be closer to the internet provider antennae.

The restaurant food for dinner could be a bit more excitng considering the hotel caters to its guests. I feel that since the hotel was close to being closed down for the season that they were not purchasing a lot of new groceries. The breakfast was a bit skimpy when it came to fresh whole fruits. Once again this may be due to not wanting to build up too much inventory. Also, the selection of yogurt was limited. There are some lovely restaurants in the town and parking is not bad in September. I recommend a restaurant by the name of Snoopy. I had a lovely fresh grilled Sea Bream there sitting by the water's edge.

Breathtaking views, we didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked lovely. Rooms were clean and receptionist was very friendly.

Restaurant wasnt taking bookings for dinner because the head chef was sick. This didnt inconvenience us too much because we wanted to see the town anyway but would have been difficult for any physically impaired or older people because it is a steep 20 minute walk back up to the hotel from the town. There is no bus service and only one taxi for the whole town too. Room was also very basic for the price, and breakfast was a bit chaotic with only one member of staff serving everyone. Not exactly good value for money.
