I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hidden gem of a hotel that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, it was evident that this establishment was committed to providing a memorable and delightful experience. The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable. It was evident that the housekeeping staff took great pride in maintaining a spotless environment. From the pristine linens to the sparkling bathroom fixtures, every detail was attended to with precision (only the soap was missing ;-) ). Walking into my room felt like stepping into a sanctuary of cleanliness and comfort. What truly set this hotel apart was its dedication to providing a unique and artistic atmosphere. The room was a canvas of originality, featuring tasteful and thought-provoking artwork that added a touch of sophistication. The interior design was a testament to creativity, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with a sense of authenticity. It felt like staying in a boutique gallery, where every corner held a new discovery of visual delight. The warmth and flexibility of the hosts made my stay truly exceptional. From accommodating special requests to providing insightful local recommendations, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a personalized experience. Asmundo Di Gisira has it all - location ( set in the historic centre), service quality and creates an experience from the moment you arrive. The reception area gives the impression of walking into a palace ( which it once was) and at the same time is inviting as staff are friendly & helpful. The en-suite bedrooms are a delight with wonderful toiletries. Breakfast on a terrace overlooking a piazza is extremely tasty with great coffee. The top terrace and other rooms with artworks are open for one to view - wonderful!

We had a very very warm welcome although we arrived very late. The staff is amazing. Very unique hotel, full of Art. Hundreds of cute, lovely or special details. The room was very lovely, high ceiling, minibar, (extravagant 🤩)Nespresso machine ,the bathroom just amazing, lovely steel panel. Triple shower, very unique! Lovely breakfast on the cute terrace.

At 7am we woke up because the guest above us left. Isolation not good. But worse, at 7.30 the cleaning of that room started. We heard all the vacuum cleaning and so on. Really a lot of noice. 7.30 is really to early to be woken up because of the cleaning, Especially in such an exclusive hotel. Should be taken into account. Without this, your hotel would be an absolute 10/10!

Asmundo di Gisira is a very special place, conveniently located to all the sights. I travel extensively and have never come across such a magical, fun experience. The hotel used to be a castle that has been transformed by someone who loves art in all it's wonderful forms. We had such a marvelous time. The experience is not just about the transformation of the castle, but also how the rooms are so special without sacrificing comfort. Our room was amazing - large, clean, comfortable with high ceilings with a beautiful fresco on the ceiling. The bathroom is big with a very nice tub and a shower. The private terrace we had is adjacent to the breakfast terrace. It's private because they built a wall of plants that added a lot of charm. It overlooks a bustling square with an array of restaurants. Fun place to sit and read a book and people watch! Breakfast is copious and superbly served at the table on a tiered platter. You could order eggs, should you wish. Cettina, who is in charge of the breakfast room is fabulous and makes sure that everyone is happy - she makes you feel very special. She is backed by another person who's name I don't remember but is just as lovely. I thank them both for the special mornings we lived at Asmundo. The team in general is very professional and super responsive by WhatsApp, Samira, Dafne and the rest of the team is great.

This paragraph is a statement - not a negative. The hotel is in a pedestrian zone you may hear voices and music - nothing terrible as I would never hesitate to deprive myself of this wonderful experience and superb service. You will have to park and roll your luggage to the hotel. This was not a problem for us at all. There were no stairs to navigate - so smooth sailing!

What was not to like? The safety and security of Asmundo was outstanding. The room and A/C were perfect. The continental breakfast was exceptional, offering a variety of delicious choices, served on an exterior terrace.

The elevator was not working, thus, the lower facility rating. There was a major problem, although maybe not Asmundo's. I asked a staff member to arrange for a taxi ride to the airport - 4.7 km, and although I received a text stating that the price would be 40 Euro, it was then, as it is now: a major RIPOFF. To emphasize how much a ripoff, a ride from the city center of Rome to Fiumicino Airport - 28.2 km - is 50 Euro.

Several things to comment on. The hotel interior and accommodation were genuinely the most beautiful I have stayed in. We didn’t think the suite we had could be surpassed but we stayed an extra night due to Etna eruption and the room we moved to was even more amazing. None of the online pictures do it anything like justice. Easily the most beautiful and interesting interior ever. I should also comment that all the staff were superb and hospitality and help was incredible. I have experienced some of the so-called best but this was better. One small thing to add, fantastic breakfast too!

Absolutely nothing. If I were to go to Catania I would urge you to stay here.

The hotel is beautiful and quirky, we had a junior suite, in the neoclassical style. Perfect location.

The hotel is also a gallery. The day we stayed, it was taken over by tours, one of the tour guides, a young man was exceptionally rude and pushed me so I nearly fell (trying to go through a doorway). The tour seemed to have taken over the facilities and common areas of the hotel, and the rooftop where we were promised evening drinks was full of the tour members rather than guests, and there was no one or nowhere available for drinks. All in all that was very poor and off putting and a privacy concern as the tour guests have the roam of the whole hotel.

Check in was a bit tricky because hotel is not easy to find with a large metal door and intercom with keypad as entrance. It is not a typical hotel and inside there is no central lobby but many works of art which was pretty cool

Notably, they even provided vegan milk, a rare find in Italy, showcasing their commitment to accommodating diverse dietary needs. As we indulged in our delicious breakfast, we were treated to captivating views that further elevated the dining experience. In conclusion, Asmundo delivers an unmatched experience that seamlessly fuses art, luxury, and hospitality. The fusion of its artistic ambiance, impeccable service, prime location, and exceptional breakfast offering guarantees that any traveler seeking a truly extraordinary stay in Catania will find their expectations exceeded at Asmundo.

This is one of the most unique properties we have stayed in. Unassuming from the exterior, you enter a palace like foyer teaming with artwork. The theme continues throughout the property, with unique contemporary artwork, fused seamlessly with meticulously preserved architecture. With large suites and shared common areas, like the lounge and dining, you get a true sense of living in a palace. The property is located right in the thick of the action, including the famous fish and food markets, which were incredible to see. Also within a stones throw to the Duomo. On arrival, we were greeted by Dafne, who assisted us with our bags and provided impeccable service throughout our stay, including when my partner suffered a severe cut to his leg and our flights from Catania were cancelled due to an airport fire. Dafne went above and beyond to ensure that my husband received medical attention from her colleague Cetinna, who was very calming, practical and kind in assisting with his injury. Dafne’s service was unparalleled; she went above and beyond to ensure that we could get to Palermo despite the mayhem caused by the Catania airport fire.
