This is an excellent place to stay. It’s handy for the railway station and the airport bus, it’s located in an old palazzo building behind a front door worthy of a cathedral, and it’s superbly comfortable. My room was spacious and elegant; the bed was just right and the shower was really good. Lucilla the host is very welcoming and helpful. And there’s a lift to save carrying luggage up stairs. I even had a view of Etna in the distance from the balcony.

We chose Oriental Palace based on reviews, and for its location near the train station. It turned out that we ended up arriving by bus, rather than train, but it was also a good location for the bus. Our hostess was incredibly helpful making reservations for us, and giving us other tips to enjoy Catania. We arrived early, expecting to leave our bags, but our room was ready for an early check-in. The continental breakfasts were lovely, and we liked the fact that delicious Sicilian treats were available all day as well as the ability to have a coffee or tea. Our room was large, and the shower was good. We liked the overall atmosphere of the room. We enjoyed the location with some good restaurants nearby, and it was about a 10 minute walk to the duomo.

The mattress on our bed was not the most comfortable. However the linens were fresh and crisp.

We had a nice, spotlessly clean room, with comfy bed and large shower. Nice toiletries are provided and all the towels you can possibly need. The B&B is in a nice, old building, full of character, so you really feel like experiencing local life in Italy. The little balcony has a breathtaking view of Etna. Location is ideal, within walking distance to everything: bus terminal, city center, authentic local cafes, even the meeting point (for guided tours on the vulcano) is just in front of it. Our host, Lucille, is so kind and helpful, she made our stay one of the best experiences. PS:The fruits were out of this world. Best Sicilian red oranges/ juice ever ! Thank you so much 😊

Nothing! Everything was perfect and exceeded all expectations

Lucilla our hostess was fantastic, Georgio, her assistant was helpful too. The room was light, quiet, very clean and comfortable. Lucilla very kindly make us up a packed breakfast as we were leaving early and she included some beautiful local pastries.I cannot praise Lucilla highly enough. She gave us parking tips and local information and above all made us feel very welcome. I would return in a heartbeat.

I would not change anything! It was fantastic.We weren't sure what to expect but we were very happy.

This B&B is an absolute gem in Catania. It is so conveniently located as it is close to the central bus and train stations (if travelling from another city, as we did) but also ~100m walk to the bus stop for the Alibus direct to the airport (10-15 mins). The host, Lucilla, is such a darling. She was excellent with communication prior to our stay and also so welcoming. She even had our room available for check-in a little earlier. The room and general B&B areas are BEAUTIFUL! It has clearly all been recently renovated and the decor is great. Our room was massive, the bed was SO comfortable, the rain shower head was fantastic and we also had a balcony so that we could glimpse at Mt Etna in the distance. Our breakfast was also fantastic (so much choice and GF options) and we were able to leave our luggage after check-out to explore the city some more before our flight back home. Our only regret is not staying longer! When we visit Catania again we will definitely be staying here. :) Grazie mille!

This B&B feels like a five star hotel. The whole interior is top class. The host does her very best to please. Spacious room. Spacious shower. The B&B is situated in an old building with courtyard. You need to through two doors before you reach an elevator which could easily be part of a film scene. Manually open and close two doors to get access and get it to work. The B&B is around 10 minutes walking from the station, and around 10-15 minutes from the center square although bars and restaurants can be found closer to the B&B.

Air-conditioning doesn't have the right capacity. Even at full capacity the room stays quite warm in summer.

The host was incredibly friendly and allowed us to have some of the breakfast even though we didn't book it and stay for a few hours longer. The room was beautiful, very clean and the shower had really nice adjustable LEDs as a special feature. The bed was very comfortable and we had lots of space in our room. The location was good for us as we had it close to the bus station but still in walking distance to the center. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend this place!

The location is comfortable if you are going by car because you can park easily, but walking from the old town to the hotel at night wasn’t nice. Dark and dirty streets. Lot’s of car glasses broken on the streets. We thought it wasn’t safe for cars, we were worried about it during the whole stay. The building where the hotel is is kind of strange too.

What an utter gem. Lucilla is kindness personified. Could not do too much to make sure the full Sicilian experience and warmth shone through. Whilst the B&B may not be in the most interesting part of town, the B&B itself more than makes up for it. It's light, airy, huge room, great breakfast, easy to get to from the airport. Honestly could not recommend it more highly. If you're hesitating, don't, press book.

This is a great spot! very unassuming from the outside (it's a bit of a sketchy area, not going to lie) but once you're inside the building and out of the elevator....it's beautiful, we were very surprised! The host is lovely, we were staying there just before catching our flight in the morning and we were going to miss the breakfast that we paid for, so she made us sandwiches and packed things in the fridge for us, it was very sweet! It's not a manned reception, so you do need to text if you need something but they're very responsive and there were no issues. Beds were amazing, shower was great and the room was beautiful and very big and spacious. There's was a little balcony that you can look over the city and you can see Etna from it as well. It was a great little spot.
