Mercure Catania Excelsior

The room was spacious with a nice touch of old-fashioned grandeur and the choice and quality of the breakfast was excellent. We also enjoyed an evening meal. All the staff were friendly and very helpful (especially Patricia on reception) and the location meant that we could walk to the city centre attractions so, whilst the cost was a little more than we would normally pay for a hotel, it was worth it!

it is very central and clean . Parking in front if the hotel and we had the morning breakfast which was great . staff were always helpful and understanding with two little kids . I recommend this hotel a-lot as it is few minutes by walk from restaurants and from main places .

there was nothing to complain about . it has classic style and perhaps it needs a-bit of a renovation . however it is kept good. if i go to sicily catania again i would definitely stay there again.

The staff having had a horrendous experience with easyJet .. . Refused on flight three times!!! The staff especially lovely girl with shoulder length dark hair - were terrific ! They calmed me down offered me tea , helped me get my documentation together . This hotel should be 5 star hotel based on them alone . Breakfast also amazing The night before I stayed in Romano palace hotel …staff were so rude especially lady with blond hair who seemed to be the head of the reception. The rooms were small and noisy . Should be two stars maximum . Thank you Mercury hotel staff for renewing my faith in Catania ! Will go back

Loved everything

Breakfast was good and room is generally clean and spacious.

The hotel needs renovation and refurbishment. It is old and could be better in terms of condition in relevance to its four-star status.

Hotel is grand and the rooms very spacious with amazing view of the piazza and fountain and in great location
