We checked in late at night after a flight, and were welcomed warmly by the receptionist. He gladly helped us with recommendations and train timetables, even though it was 2 pm. The room was pretty and comfortable, the bathroom very clean. There is a nice view of the town from the window. The breakfast was great and the staff were very attentive to us. They made us an excellent latte. Overall a great place to stay near the airport if you're planning to take the train by morning - only one minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel is quite simple and Gallarate is not a tourist destination. For a one night stay near the airport it was perfect.

My husband went to hospital and I had to get a room to extend my stay in milan. Found this near hospital. Very friendly and sympathetic staff. Exceptionally helpful to me ordering taxis, drawing a map etc. The fact that the reception lady had good english was HUGELY helpful. Very clean rooms, simply furnished. Perhaps could have been a bit bigger and the shower/loo also could have been bigger. THe high ceilings made for an airy feeling. Air conditioning great. Altho right across the road from train station, we never heard any train noise at all. Very good value for money. THe breakfast was very good too, but we couldn't really eat much because of our circumstances. Reception area very relaxed and airy too. Generally a peaceful retreat - a mixture of a lovely old traditional building with modern bedrooms which works really well. We needed a lot of water, and the staff were only too willing to give us bottles as required.

Could do with a water cooler perhaps. (so we wouldn't need to disturb the staff). Otherwise really fine.

I travel for fun and work A LOT and, for better or worse, my standards have increased dramatically. I read the good reviews but my experience still greatly exceeded any expectations. The best was the care the staff showed- I felt they genuinely cared that I had a good stay. Excellent check-in and responses to questions before my arrival. They did a great job remodeling- it still feels Italian while also feeling modern. Bed was comfortable, blinds made the room dark. Very clean, quiet. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Great internet. I've stayed at the Sheraton Malpensa many times because it's so convenient before a flight but this is much better value.

Very nice hotel fully renovated and modern next to the train station, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable and all furniture was very new clean and nice. Good value for money

The room didn't have a small refrigerator but the staff was very helpful and kept something we had to their refrigerator so it is not that important. I would go again to that hotel. The location was good if you want to stay relatively close to Malpensa airport but this small town was not very vibrant

The hotel is tiny but clean, the staff are very kind and are willing to provide support all the time. The breakfast is abundant (bread, sausage, milk, yogurt, cake, biscuits, juice, coffee, cheese etc.) and taste good. In addition, the location is wonderful, just 2 minutes walk to the Gallarate station. Also, thank you for allowing early check-in.

Elevator is a kind of old, but it’s common in Europe. Not a big problem.

This hotel is amazing! Many thanks to the receptionist who helped to make me stay comfortable (ordered pizza for dinner, helped with information about the train to the airport, and overall was very hospitable and polite). The room was clear and there was tea and a teapot to make it right in the room. Breakfast was included and I didn't expect it to be that good! The variety of food and high-class service made my morning. Highly recommend!

Very pleasant reception team who spoke good English. Our rooms were modern, clean and comfortable with good wifi. Despite being near the railway I wasn't disturbed by train or traffic noise. Amazing choice of food for breakfast. We were thinking of breaking our journey in Milan but the hotel prices there were ridiculous so we came to Gallarate instead since we just needed an overnight stay near a station. This was an ideal place to stay.

The inconsiderate people in the room above made such a huge amount of clonking that my room vibrated. It went on for so long that I got out of bed and went upstairs but of course the noise had stopped by then.

The Hotel is on the left hand side after the vegetable shop and convenience store, Out of the train station and turn right up the hill, it was so close to the train station, I liked the fact that it was less than a 2 minute walk to the front door of the hotel. Windows, when opened you can hear the trains, close them and you can hear nothing! The TV, I was able access Netflix on my own account and relaxed in the evenings. The cleaning ladies are so helpful and friendly they had my room spick and span everyday.

I was a solo traveller, woman of 59 years, I was conscious of the men on the street, They possibly don't mean any harm to anyone, but I did find it a little intimidating one evening on the way into the hotel, as they walked beside me to the hotel door and kept asking questions!! I stayed out in Gallarate until 10pm having eaten locally, this was the only night I returned to the hotel at the time, so every other evening I was back before 9pm and I had no problems. Just wary when I was on my own, and I was conscious of that!

The room was very comfy and clean, they put out new towels everyday and tidied the bed. For the type of hotel it is the included breakfast wasn't too bad it was pretty standard, that wasn't a problem for me. The staff were very nice, they were very welcoming.

The walls are thin, I could hear people in the rooms around me, especially someone snoring. I wasn't kept awake but it's definitely noticeable when you are trying to get to sleep.

La Nuova Rotaia is a good location for local events and visiting Milan: 40 min car or train. It's close to the railway station and the restaurants of the city. Rooms are clean and perfect for a short stay. The breakfast buffet is continental and the service is great. The personnel is really nice and helpful. Thank you very much!
