Nice basic breakfast that was also suitable for vegetarians. The staff was amazing: always so friendly and willing to help. Communication was easy. Nice beach and location, amazing view. The hotel is accessible by taxi boat or by foot if you climb some stairs. I personally enjoyed the stairs. Great exercise! But the hotel might be a bad choice for the old or people with restricted mobility.

The bed was not good. It was hard and pillows too thin. Also the guests in the neighbouring room were very noisy. One time I mentioned about it and yes after that they very a bit more silent but still could hear them every night. Of course it is not the hotel's fault that some people don't respect other guests. And the hotel does not have a 24 hr reception either so no help available immediately.

I could not have been more impressed and grateful for this hotel and everyone who works there. We had an AMAZING experience. It was our first time in Ischia and everyone (and I mean everyone) who we interacted with from the front desk to the server at their restaurant was kind, welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. The whole place feels like you’re being taken care of by family, that’s the vibe and that’s the level of service. We fell in love with Ischia and are so grateful we had everyone at the hotel to guide us. Hotel de Maria made our experience and we appreciate them so much! We will be coming back and will never forget it! Thank you!

The A/C in our room didn’t really work and that was our only issue!

The staff were very helpful throughout. It has a fantastic view - both from the hotel's large terrace and also from the room's balcony. The room is very nicely tiled throughout, and the large terrace is spacious and very pretty. Overall it has much of a feel of a quiet, secluded spa. It has a small stretch of beach at its feet. The whole place faces east, so if you remember to wake up early and there are few clouds, you may be treated to a lovely sunrise!

The only real downside is the hotel's location and foot-access - it is more isolated than the map might suggest, as Ischia is very hilly and the roads and paths to get to the hotel are in places very steep. Cars cannot stop directly outside the hotel - the path from the road to the hotel is a few minutes of very steep walking. Do not try this in heels!

The view of Castello Aragonese d'Ischia from Hotel Da Maria is spectacular, the room is clean and comfortable, there is a great restaurant attached to the property which we have been eating in every evening during our 3 nights stay! Alessandro has been very helpful and attentive.

Had to get a taxi to reach the hotel when water taxi was not available during thunderstorm, but Alessandro has been very helpful in arrangging for a taxi. There are lots of steps to reach the hotel and room, you will have to be reasonably fit to be able to climb the steps.

We came to ischia on honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Da Maria is a beautiful hotel set in an idyllic location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Our room was beautiful with a lovely balcony, and had an amazing view over the castle. We could also see Mount Vesuvius in the distance from our room. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful pool area. We spent time on the little beach area most days and made use of the sun beds. We were able to buy drinks, etc from the hotel restaurant and bring them out with us. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choice, set in a lovely dining room overlooking the castle and the sea. Staff were very attentive and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times in the evening. Most dishes are sea-food based and rabbit also featured on the menu - an Ischian speciality. Again staff were lovely and the service was very good. It was very easy to book a taxi-boat from the hotel to take us round to Ischia Ponte, a very short journey of 5 minutes and we made use of this many times throughout our stay.

Nothing - we loved everything about it.

Amenities at the hotel were nice (good restaurant, bar, beach, pool, terraces). Great to have it's own beach and a boat ferry to get us to/from Ischia ponte. Terrace area was lovely to sit and watch the water and the castle.

Our key fob didn't work one evening (around midnight) and no one answered the emergency phone number we were given. The hotel is incredibly difficult to reach. There is no way for a car to access the hotel and requires a lot of walking and broken slanted / ramp stairs.

The view, terraces and the pool are an absolute DREAM ! It was also very nice to have sunbeds at the « private » beach every day and 15% off at the hotel restaurant which was really good. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The restaurant, beach and bar staff were really nice and flexible. Also the hotel is quite isolated in a « sauvage » part of the island with a lot of vegetation which make you feel like you are the only ones in the world. Amazing experience.

The reception staff was not always so welcoming and friendly. Also, the breakfast has a lot of room for improvement.

The hotel has its own beach with sun beds which is such a bonus in Ischia. they also have the much desired view of the castle. you have a feeling of isolation there … which is good or bad , depending on what you seek. in any case , it’s very easy to get a taxi boat to the castle area (a town called Ponte) where there are restaurants and bars. If you want a scooter or car , the hotel can arrange it for a good price. You’ll need to park at the top above the hotel as the road ends up there. Be aware that access by land has many steps going up, not a problem for some people , but if you are elderly you should use the taxi boat instead.

I think this hotel needs a little updating in places. Also there is no guest service specifically so if you want a cocktail or beer , just go to reception and ask them. also , between the restaurant opening times, there is no food available.

The property was amazing, from our room we had a view of the castle and the water. It as quiet and all the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good, We really enjoyed our stay. we hope to visit again! I loved that they had a restaurant that you could have lunch and or dinner as well, really convenient, if you wanted to just enjoy the weather and have a relaxing day!

The restaurant menu was the same for lunch and dinner/ Everything we had was delicious, but one thing both my husband and I said could make it better is to have a bit more of a varied menu so you don't get tired of eating maybe the same thing for lunch and dinner if you do eat multiple meals at the hotel restaurant like we did. Maybe some lighter/ smaller plates available at lunch like Bruschetta or pizza.

family run with friendly staff and great location. Best to go half-board as the food is good and you are a bit cut off in the evening but their restaurant also has a fantastic view
