Hotel Don Felipe made our stay in Ischia absolutely perfect! Everywhere you look it has the most beautiful views - it’s definitely worth upgrading to a sea view room so that you can enjoy them from your own balcony. The staff are all so lovely and can’t do enough for you - shout out to Alessandro who was super attentive and friendly. The pool is small but clean and a lovely temperature, and we never struggled to get a sunbed. Breakfast was great, really fresh and there was something a little bit different each morning. We loved the location, about a 15 minute walk from Ischia Ponte which has plenty of restaurants and bars but is much more peaceful and chilled out than the main port area. We will definitely be returning to Don Felipe on our next visit to Ischia!

The view was amazing and the hotel’s swimming pool well used in the heat wave. The friendliness of the staff especially Alessandro, was outstanding. The bus stop right in front of the hotel made moving around quite easy.

Lovely location with fantastic views to Capri and the castle Aragonese. Staff lovely and very helpful. Food menu limited but good value and good quality. Breakfast was great. Staff will make you a fresh coffee if you ask. Better than the self-service coffee machine. Walking distance from Ischia Ponte 15 -20 mins, though quite steep. Ischia Ponte is a lovely quiet resort. Bus stop outside hotel, though only about one per hour. Timetable behind reception Bus €1.70 for a single. Taxi 15€ to Ponte and €20 to Ischia Porto.

No access to sea without paying for access to a beach club. The hotel has a 10% discount with the Eden Giardino club under the hotel, but still quite costly for a day €45 -10% pp Ischia Ponte closest swimming. Didn't try the club Coco under the nearby tower. This looked to be cheaper as entrance fee got you a voucher to use at the restaurant / bar. Some loud music from beach clubs some evenings (weddings etc). Wasn't a big issue for us, and not the hotels fault. No kettle in room, but we knew this and took a travel kettle. Kept milk for tea in the mini bar, so could have a tea first thing in the morning.

The views were absolutely spectacular, seeing the sea from the bedroom and then out into the bay from the terrace was amazing to wake up to. Absolute paradise! The pool was also lovely, again gorgeous views and kept clean and at a nice temperature. The terrace bar served delicious aperol spritz, some of the nicest on our whole trip to Italy. Breathtaking views again. Lovely friendly staff, just a beautiful hotel for fantastic value. We spent one of our days at the beach club in front of the hotel and had the best time, lovely food for lunch and the most relaxing day so would recommend this - we got a discount for being guests of the hotel. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and can't wait to return!

Only thing was it was a bit of a walk away from the old town and you have to walk up a steep hill then back down the other side to get to all the restaurants and shops - but this is something we knew in advance and it's not something we particularly minded as we like walking, it was already 20 minutes or so. It also meant our hotel was very peaceful and we got the beautiful views of the bay - which you miss if you're in the old town. It's a trade off we were happy to make but something to bear in mind. There was a bus you could hop on outside the hotel, but they are not that frequent .

Smallish hotel, clean and the staff were friendly and polite. The view from the terrace and pool area is spectacular and features in all the hotel's promotional material and rightly so. There is a bus stop right outside. Buses will take you up to the main road and on to Ischia Porto. If you are of average fitness, the walk to Ischia Porto is pretty easy, a few gradients here and there, but shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Ischia Ponte can be reached by the main road or quicker by an alleyway, which is up the road and round the corner, called via Soranzano which drops you right in the middle of town, with spectacular views on the way down.

The only thing I can think of, which might be a particular issue for British people who like to make an early morning cup of tea, is there isn't a kettle in the room. But if you're having breakfast at the hotel, they have tea bags and boiling water and the rest of the breakfast menu is fine.

As a single traveller, accessibility and safety are top priorities that shape my perspective. The location of the hotel is ideal, probably at one of the best places on the island and within close proximity to major sights and attractions (The Castle Aragonese, Michelangelo's Tower, the thermal springs in Cartaromana beach). The hotel was squeaky clean in tourist season at its peak, offering great facilities, a unique, breathtaking view to the Castle, tasteful decorative details and breakfast buffet variety. I also appreciated the thoughtful and considerate staff, who are there to assist you and make recommendations out of genuine interest and not mere professionalism. I couldn't recommend Don Felipe's albergo more.

Everything!!! This hotel was very beautiful quiet and small!! Just what we needed to relax! Our room with the terrace and sea view was breathtaking!! The breakfast was very good and we are def glad we paid in advance for it. The staff was also very nice and helped us with anything we needed. The views from this hotel are very beautiful. From the outside dining terrace you have a beautiful view of the castle!!! I would def love to stay here again when in Ischia!!!! If you stay here you def won’t be disappointed and the price was also very reasonable!!!

How nice and quiet it was. Not overcrowded with people like larger resorts!! The property is clean and well kept.

Absolutely everything! The location and views are breathtaking. Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean and very well looked after by the amazing staff who are committed to excellence in everything that they do. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly, kind and incredibly helpful. They really want you to have the best stay and are very proud of their island and want you to experience the best of it. I have had one of the best experiences of my life staying here and it will stay in my heart. It is easy to access the local towns by bus and Ischia Ponte is within a 10 minute walking distance where you will find many eateries and shopping options. An incredible pizzeria is a 5-10 minute walk away and is highly recommended as the food is amazing! Thank you to all of the wonderful people at the hotel who made my stay so special ❤️

I loved everything.

I enjoyed my short stay at Hotel Don Felipe. The staff were friendly and provided in-depth information for my stay over WhatsApp, including nearby beach clubs and a shortcut to get to Ischia Ponte. I appreciated the hotel's connection with a local taxi service, Mr. Raffaele, as this eliminated the stress of having to rely on the bus system to get to/from the port, as well as to go to one of the thermal resorts I had made a reservation at. The hotel arranged my transport to/from the port, then I was easily able to coordinate with Raffaele about additional transport via WhatsApp. I highly recommend using this service if you are staying here. The breakfast spread was wonderful, delicious, and similar to what you'd see in America, with the added spectacular ocean view! There are 3 beach clubs immediately in front of the hotel. I personally went to Coco Mare twice and thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and the cost was quite reasonable for the day. My room was clean upon entry, and it was tidied each day by staff. My room was on the same level as reception and the terrace, and I could easily see out over the terrace from my door. The view from Hotel Don Felipe is spectacular! I recommend Hotel Don Felipe if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing stay in Ischia.

My bed was quite uncomfortable. I felt like I could feel down to the hard box spring, and it hurt my hips to lay on my side, which is unfortunate because I am a side sleeper. The pillow was comfortable, but unfortunately you can't lay your entire body on a pillow. The extra blanket in the closet had multiple large, red/brown stains on it, which was quite off-putting. While I appreciate cleaning staff tidying up the room each day, they moved around my belongings each time, which was quite frustrating and also off-putting, as I do not like the thought of a stranger touching my toothbrush or re-organizing my items, as my brain relies on them to be in the same place due to my ADHD and some memory difficulties. On the last day, I couldn't find the cap to my razor and had looked everywhere.

The hotel was really fantastic. Nice pool and restaurant, great bar with amazing terasse with views. It was cool to have a balcony with room looking out over the sea, bay and beutiful Aragonese castle. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very relaxing stay, and we highly recommend this property. There was a bus to the city/port right outside the door or you can easily walk 15 min. This is a truly - hidden gem on Ischia.
