Hotel Don Felipe made our stay in Ischia absolutely perfect! Everywhere you look it has the most beautiful views - it’s definitely worth upgrading to a sea view room so that you can enjoy them from your own balcony. The staff are all so lovely and can’t do enough for you - shout out to Alessandro who was super attentive and friendly. The pool is small but clean and a lovely temperature, and we never struggled to get a sunbed. Breakfast was great, really fresh and there was something a little bit different each morning. We loved the location, about a 15 minute walk from Ischia Ponte which has plenty of restaurants and bars but is much more peaceful and chilled out than the main port area. We will definitely be returning to Don Felipe on our next visit to Ischia!

Lovely location with fantastic views to Capri and the castle Aragonese. Staff lovely and very helpful. Food menu limited but good value and good quality. Breakfast was great. Staff will make you a fresh coffee if you ask. Better than the self-service coffee machine. Walking distance from Ischia Ponte 15 -20 mins, though quite steep. Ischia Ponte is a lovely quiet resort. Bus stop outside hotel, though only about one per hour. Timetable behind reception Bus €1.70 for a single. Taxi 15€ to Ponte and €20 to Ischia Porto.

No access to sea without paying for access to a beach club. The hotel has a 10% discount with the Eden Giardino club under the hotel, but still quite costly for a day €45 -10% pp Ischia Ponte closest swimming. Didn't try the club Coco under the nearby tower. This looked to be cheaper as entrance fee got you a voucher to use at the restaurant / bar. Some loud music from beach clubs some evenings (weddings etc). Wasn't a big issue for us, and not the hotels fault. No kettle in room, but we knew this and took a travel kettle. Kept milk for tea in the mini bar, so could have a tea first thing in the morning.

Absolutely everything! The location and views are breathtaking. Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean and very well looked after by the amazing staff who are committed to excellence in everything that they do. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly, kind and incredibly helpful. They really want you to have the best stay and are very proud of their island and want you to experience the best of it. I have had one of the best experiences of my life staying here and it will stay in my heart. It is easy to access the local towns by bus and Ischia Ponte is within a 10 minute walking distance where you will find many eateries and shopping options. An incredible pizzeria is a 5-10 minute walk away and is highly recommended as the food is amazing! Thank you to all of the wonderful people at the hotel who made my stay so special ❤️

I loved everything.

I enjoyed my short stay at Hotel Don Felipe. The staff were friendly and provided in-depth information for my stay over WhatsApp, including nearby beach clubs and a shortcut to get to Ischia Ponte. I appreciated the hotel's connection with a local taxi service, Mr. Raffaele, as this eliminated the stress of having to rely on the bus system to get to/from the port, as well as to go to one of the thermal resorts I had made a reservation at. The hotel arranged my transport to/from the port, then I was easily able to coordinate with Raffaele about additional transport via WhatsApp. I highly recommend using this service if you are staying here. The breakfast spread was wonderful, delicious, and similar to what you'd see in America, with the added spectacular ocean view! There are 3 beach clubs immediately in front of the hotel. I personally went to Coco Mare twice and thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and the cost was quite reasonable for the day. My room was clean upon entry, and it was tidied each day by staff. My room was on the same level as reception and the terrace, and I could easily see out over the terrace from my door. The view from Hotel Don Felipe is spectacular! I recommend Hotel Don Felipe if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing stay in Ischia.

My bed was quite uncomfortable. I felt like I could feel down to the hard box spring, and it hurt my hips to lay on my side, which is unfortunate because I am a side sleeper. The pillow was comfortable, but unfortunately you can't lay your entire body on a pillow. The extra blanket in the closet had multiple large, red/brown stains on it, which was quite off-putting. While I appreciate cleaning staff tidying up the room each day, they moved around my belongings each time, which was quite frustrating and also off-putting, as I do not like the thought of a stranger touching my toothbrush or re-organizing my items, as my brain relies on them to be in the same place due to my ADHD and some memory difficulties. On the last day, I couldn't find the cap to my razor and had looked everywhere.

The views out to sea and the castle are amazing. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff are really attentive and helpful, offering to book restaurants for us and were friendly at breakfast. Great to have the pool and the aperitivo terrace.

Only small suggestions - the air conditioning is only available in high season summer months, this was okay for us in the end and staff gave us good advice about keeping the room cool, but worth bearing in mind. And the bus to and from town is great when it runs, but we found it to be quite unreliable (again this could be an off-season thing!).

Breakfast was a combination of cereals, yogurts and cakes as well as some meats and cheeses and scramble egg. A reasonable variety. I had a lovely balcony with bistro set and a beautiful view of the sea and the sound of birds in the trees. It was a nice, quiet and relaxed stay with friendly staff and a resident cat, who apparently arrived there one day and never left. There was a bus directly opposite the hotel but facilities and tourist spots (such as the medieval Aragonese Castle, linked to Ischia by a stone bridge) were only a short distance away. The hotel staff provided a short cut to the castle. I had a really good time at the Il Giardino restaurant, on Via Nuova Cartoroma (sp), recommended by the hotel staff. Apart from the smashing food, I got involved in an international sing-song with one of the waiting staff (whose outgoing attitude really made the stay) and banter with an Irish party on one table, some Brits and some Americans. Such a great atmosphere. Also, at the hotel's recommendation, I spent the day in one of Ischia's many spas, the Poseidon. Fab, fab, fab. The staff at the hotel really looked after me and I felt that they really cared. One extra bonus was the heated swimming pool.

No tea and coffee making facilities. I really did miss having this. Obviously it depends on the usual clientele of this hotel, but Brits really love a cuppa.

Really beautiful hotel. The view from the terrace is the best on Ischia. It's a traditional hotel with amazing staff. The bus is convenient, beach club outside the hotel (discounted) and ischia ponte only a 15/20 minute walk. We loved it and would definitely recommend! Jack and Hels x

The location and the room sea view was great! Hosts are really pleasent and happy to help. The location is beatuiful, near the town and restaurants (there is a shortcut to the center and the castle). The breakfast is okay but most days the dishes are the same. They prepare home made juices, that is great.

The hotel does not have a private beach. You need to pay 15-30 euros a day per person just to go to the beaches owned by other hotels (you get a discount if you are from Don Felipe hotel). Also, some beach hotels demand from you to have a lunch at their restaurant (even though you paid your entrance fee). You would need to walk a bit more to arrive to some beaches with free entrance.

Amazing value for such a fabulous location I would highly recommend, especially for a solo traveller . The single rooms are in a perfect location, usually in other hotels they are a less desirable part of a hotel. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast excellent and the room comfortable and very clean . Perfect stay . Hope I can come again soon

The location of this property is amazing! Perfect views over Castello Aragonese and over the bay. The sunrise at this property was one of the nicest experiences I have had in Italy! You can see the bay of Naples all the way from Capri to Procida. The staff was friendly, we arrived earlier than checkin/left later than checkout and we could store luggage and use the hotel facilities in the mean time. The staff also had nice activity recommendations. The meals they offer for lunch and dinner are very nice and the setting of their terrace is amazing. The value for money was very good for September in the Naples region. The breakfast had a wide choice. The pool is a bit small, but still large enough to enjoy for a short time.

The bus system in Ischia can be quite bad, not respecting the timetable. Sometimes it is hard to reach the property.
