Absolutely everything was fantastic. The location is great, with an amazing view over Sant'Angelo from the terrace. The owner and staff are genuinely nice people, which made our stay pleasant and comfortable. The hotel is clean and bright. I highly recommend having at least one, if not more, dinners at Villa Maria; the quality of the menu is excellent. In short, you can stay here without any hesitation. If we will visit Samt Angelo again we would stay here again.

Everything was amazing. The staff, the service, the food, the location, etc. I cannot wait to return. Excellent espresso & cappuccino! Best on the island, actually. Also, best dinner we had on the island! Right here at this hotel. Great, healthy breakfast. Amazing walking opportunities. Up and down the mountain paths. Each walk was an adventure. Just incredible beauty all around you. Breathtaking views. A true hidden gem.

Our room had direct access to the 1st floor terrace with amazing ocean views (I think we got a better room than booked). On the ground floor, you have similar views, which you enjoy during breakfast (excellent! buffet) and dinner (if you decide to stay in the hotel). Lovely hosts, family run, and close to beautiful and quiet beaches around Sant'Angelo.

A kettle in the room for tea would have been helpful. The location above the sea means that you have to climb, which is with the luggage and midday a bit of a challenge. You can book a private taxi though. Compared to the Cyclades in Greece where accommodations often offer a free ferry pick up, this service could be improved (at least from Sant'Angelo bus station).

From start to finish, everything was truly outstanding. The dinner was excellent, the view was stunning, and what made our experience truly special was the way the family-staff treated us, like we were part of their own family. The warm and welcoming atmosphere created by them made our stay feel not just comfortable but also incredibly personal. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality, and it made our time at their place truly memorable. It was, by far, the best experience we've had at any hotel we've visited so far.

This was one of the best stays we have ever had!! My partner and I were on a 6 week europe holiday and villa maria was by far our favorite location. Firstly, THE VIEW is even better than the photos! Every morning we were blown away by the beautiful view as we enjoyed our breakfast. The room was gorgeous, we especially loved the spacious terrace where we enjoyed a glass of wine most evenings. We had read that the hotel put on a delicious dinner in their restaurant and that was absolutely true. We loved the dinner so much we ate at the hotel 4 out of our 5 nights and the antipasto appetizers is something we will be coming back for. The vegetables picked fresh from their garden daily made these meals some of the best we had on our entire trip. Lastly, the service of Gennaro and his family were what made this hotel so special. They were so kind to use during our entire stay and Genarro was so incredibly helpful in recommending day to day activities (he speaks excellent English!!). We loved this place so much, it felt like our home away from home and we are already planning our next return!

Hotel Villa Maria is third generation family owned and an absolute gem of a find if they can fit you in. The hotel is perched on a hill with incredible views and vista and positioned to get the sun all day. The family with staff run the hotel and they could not do more for you if they had tried. Incredibly accommodating and helpful from the time we got there to the time we left. Make sure you stay for dinner €30 (at time of writing) which included a buffet of starters which was the highlight - you could base your whole dinner on just the starters truth be told, but then there were three more courses to deal with - and they were also fantastic. Dinner was a shotgun start at 7:30pm which allows you take in the sunset and not miss out on the starters ( note - a lot of the vegetables are grown by the family. Also, dinner can be booked separately - you do not need to staying but it is nice to wander down from your hotel room after a day at the beach Breakfast was buffet European style and a 10/10 - pastries were superb and good coffee, heaps of fruit and cereals topped off with the amazing view to kickstart every morning The hotel have about 20 beach chairs on Maronite beach with a small cafe there as well - definitely worth a wander down to. There is a separate cost for the chairs. This was our second stay in Sant Angelo and we will definitely return to Villa Maria when we go back - people, view, food - we just relaxed - we even know what rooms we will be asking for ….

Beds, as in mattresses definitely - they are very firm. And if I was being super critical desserts always left me a little underwhelmed (but by the time I got to dessert it was probably a good thing).

The first moment I entered through the blue gates and gorgeous garden I knew I had arrived in paradise . The amazing view and terrace spread out before me took my breath away !!!! I loved the attentive welcoming family run hotel , the attention to detail and the amazing dinner we ate in house every night , cooked from the kitchen garden , seasonal and the Italian experience we were after … exceptional and good value . Breakfast on the terrace with ocean vista was a treat and our cappuccino expertly made . The excitement of the amazing breakfast had us up and ready . French toast with succulent strawberries , pancakes , Italian sugar donuts , beautiful cheese and meats , so much to choose it was another highlight of this amazing hotel . My ocean terrace room was immaculate and so clean , the floor tiles gorgeous , the French doors opening onto the terrace with shutters offered privacy and allowed the sea air and morning birdsong in … evenings on the terrace outside my room I had sun chairs to relax on and even a line to hang my swimmers … bliss to watch the sunset . loved everything and next time when I return I will stay longer … Thankyou for looking after me kim smith

Everything was perfect. The location and the views are truly exceptional. But mostly, the staff are extremely lovely and welcoming. It is a family run hotel which makes you feel really so comfortable and at home. Their hospitality is outstanding. Their family traditional cooking is also fantastic - both the breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing. The hotel itself is very charming and well maintained. The whole experience makes you feel like you're part of the family. You're left feeling like you're lucky to have stumbled across such a very special place. We loved it so much that we extended our stay.

You need to stay here. I expected a beautiful location and friendly staff but Villa Maria far exceeded those expectations. To future guests, please note: there is a decent hill to climb to get to the hotel. You are staying on a cliff top and some work is needed to earn the view from the top! There is a ramp that goes most of the way up for wheeled suitcases that makes things easier. After sweating our way up to the hotel we were astounded by the little Garden of Eden that awaited us. A terrace that looks out over the ocean, a breezy courtyard filled with leafy plants, and laughter coming from inside the building. I was expecting a humble room but we found ourselves in a comfortable and spacious room with a large terrace, with uninterrupted views out over the sea and surrounding neighbourhood. There was a line to dry our clothes on, a ceiling fan which kept us cool, and some chairs to lounge on outside. The highlight of Villa Maria is the terrace where you eat breakfast and/or dinner. We had paid for breakfast so got to enjoy the lavish spread that is provided each morning - the most generous breakfast spread I have ever seen. I wish we had also paid for dinner because the home cooked meals that happened lazily and happily in the evenings looked exquisite. If you need to source your own dinner I would recommend Da Pasquale, which is a 4 minute walk away, for cheap and delicious pizzas. You also need to go to Cava Grado for a swim, and we also loved Cava Dell’Isola which you can easily catch us a bus too. Getting around the island was easy as there are regularly buses looping the island - we got a three day unlimited travel pass which made things a breeze. THANK YOU to the lovely staff - a kind and hospitable family - who made us feel so well looked after and like we were right at home. We will be back, this time was truly restorative.

This family-owned hotel is welcoming and serene. The property is situated in a privileged location with beautiful sea and sunset views. The room we stayed in was quiet, spacious and comfortable. It had a terrace with sea views. Breakfast and dinner were a feast. The home-cooked meals are authentic and flavorful. We walked down to Maronti beach and enjoyed the scents, colors and sounds of this magnificent island.

Everything was perfect. The property is on a steep hill but you can take a 'carrello' from the taxi stop.
