Francesco, who is front of house, was a highlight for our stay. He was SO welcoming, friendly, helpful - he called all of the restaurants, beach clubs, and excursion days we were planning to go to in advance, and helped map out our day plan with TOP recommendations. We also cannot recommend Antonio enough, he is a taxi driver who works with the hotel, and was basically our personal chauffer for the entire trip! Not only is he a lovely man, but the fast and reliable service he provided us was faaaantastic. He was available at any time! Never more than a 15 min wait for him and he would pick us up anywhere on the island!! There is also a freeshuttle that runs v.frequently from the hotel to various places on the island, ports and towns etc.. Such wonderful staff, we didn't catch the man at breakfasts name, but he was super friendly and accomodating. It honestly couldnt have been a better experience, we felt extremely well looked after here! And the hotel itself is beautiful, clean, has a STUNNING view, a lovely pool, and a great breakfast selection too. Couldn't recommend this place more, we had THE BEST HOLIDAY HERE. And it wouldn't have been the same if we stayed elsewhere. It was FANTASTIC. Book here if you are thinking of staying in Ischia. Poggio Antico was the best place to stay, and we will be booking here again when we next visit Ischia! The level of care here is exceptional!

We LOVED this hotel!!! Truly spectacular up in the hills of Forio with breathtaking views - sunsets especially were so beautiful. Everyone at the hotel provided exceptional service - always willing and ready to either make you a cocktail or take you in the shuttle wherever you wanted to go. Being high up in the hills provided a thrilling ride on the narrow winding road that was so exciting and nail biting each time, but also hilarious as the drivers always managed to make it through unscathed and flawlessly like it was a movie scene. We had a double room with a sea view and it was amazing with the large terrace overlooking Spiaggia di Citara. The breakfast as well was vast and varied with many homemade offerings. I still dream about their homemade lemon jam and fresh squeezed juices. We'd spend our days at nearby Poseidon and then retreat to the hotel in the evenings to soak in the sunset or take a late afternoon dip in the pool. We ate at Da Peppina (a 10-minute walk down the hill) and its as one of the best meals we had in Ischia. We will definitely return to this wonderful hotel. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made our stay so memorable and special. It will always remain a treasured experience for us - especially as we stayed here the week before we got married in Ischia. 💕

Nothing- it was all wonderful!!!

Great place to spend a relaxing week or a couple of days. Despite the crowded island we kept out of the mess in this lovely location with all the comforts. The place is quit, very well populated by mostly couples seeking quiet and relax. The staff was very welcoming and eager to address every need. Breakfast was really good, with a wide choice of ho,e made cakes and pastries.

Nothing to dislike really. The downside of the position which makes is relaxing is the need for a vehicle to reach it. So if you are a smart driver and can handle a scooter by night on very narrow uphills this is the place for you. If you have not a vehicle and you want to explore the island it will be a bit more complex for you staying there. Suggestions for the owners: we missed sometimes someone at the front desk, the hair drier should be changed with a proper one, the light in the bathroom is poor, eventually add a coffee machine in the room.

My husband and I have just spent 10 days in this stunning hotel. the hotel is a family run business and only has 11 rooms which was ideal for what we wanted. The accommodation was exceptional - our room had a large balcony with stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the sunset - something you would never get tired of looking at. The owners, Francesco. Alesandro and Papa (didn't get his name) run a fabulous hotel and the attention to detail is better than anywhere we have ever stayed before. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them or any member of their wonderful staff. Special mentions have to go to Luis, Andrea and Carlo - these 3 members of staff are such an asset to the hotel and would have done absolutely anything for us. The hotel provides a shuttle service to many areas of the island - this was such a great benefit to all guests. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough it is a 20 out of 10 and we will definitely be back next year. Thank you Tenuta Del Poggio and all the wonderful staff for making our holiday one we will never forget.

Location is perfect - despite being further from the sea ( up in the hills) the guys from the hotel will give you a transfer to it ( 10 minutes) whenever you want! Thanks that you sleep and relax in silence, and enjoy the sea or it’s embankment just the time you need it. Nice breakfast- not so rich, but enough to start the day, nice and clean rooms. Ischia is beautiful itself by the way. If you want to enjoy the mix between nature and modern place - it is the right place to go. Like Capri, but not “too much”

I write following our recent trip to Ischia and a totally relaxing stay at Hotel Tenuta Del Poggio Antico The resort has an elevated position and stunning views of the sea and is set in beautifully maintained gardens. With relatively few bedrooms / apartments the owners and staff provide a very personal service, so much different (and far nicer) than larger hotels where you are just one of many customers. Although we did not venture far away as we were keen to enjoy the hotel and pool, we ate locally (which you could easily walk to) 3 nearby restaurants all of which offered local cuisine (and wine from their own vineyards). That said there was courtesy transport to many areas of the Island and would recommend visiting Giardini La Mortella which are lovely gardens just a few miles from Forio. In conclusion I certainly would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Everything! Clean and fresh, rooms were modern with very comfortable beds. Hosts Francesco and Antonio were amazing as was the staff… Vito, Andrea, etc…. Rooms were meticulously cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided for the room as well as for the pool. I enjoyed starting and ending my day on the balcony. The grounds were beautifully manicured and there was an unobstructed view of the water. I could stare at it all day! The complimentary shuttle was a great addition. They were frequent and we took advantage for our daily adventures. When we ventured further out to neighboring towns a private taxi was arranged. This worked out great and allowed us to enjoy the town at night. There were three restaurants in walking distance, all very good, fresh ingredients. Breakfast was the best we had in Europe with the freshest cakes, pastries, fruits and juices daily. There’s was something for everyone.. cereal, eggs, bacon and fresh vegetables, meats and cheeses. We were even offered a packed breakfast for our very early morning ferry. Antonio and Vito made the best cocktails, our favorite was the limoncello spritz which was garnished with with fresh mint from garden. Olives and nuts were welcome snacks to have alongside cocktails. We took advantage of lunch at this property. The eggplant parm was the best I ever had and was grown in their garden which made it extra delicious. Spa services were available on request. I decided to treat myself to a mud mask and I’m so pleased that I did. The room was a sanctuary, so calm and inviting. I left with wonderful face products that are produced in this region - highly recommend to take advantage of during your stay. We arrived as guests and parted as family. We will 100% be back!

That that I couldn’t stay longer

We absolutely loved our stay at Tenuta Del Poggio Antico and can’t wait to come back! It is the most incredible, beautiful setting, the staff are so helpful and informative and the vibe of the hotel is so laidback and relaxing. It’s absolutely paradise! It’s family-run, and the team are so helpful, providing so many amazing recommendations that made our trip to Ischia one of the best we’ve had! The restaurant recommendations were so good and all within walking distance of the hotel. They also provide a free shuttle service which is great for getting around! It’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and I can’t recommend it enough.

Wonderful place, tucked away on the hillside with beautiful gardens and stunning views. Friendly, helpful staff. Didn't see any hotels on Ischia that I'd rather stay in and we explored almost the entire island. Taxis are rather expensive from Ischia Porto due to circuitous route so would advise either getting the bus to Forio then utilising the hotel's free shuttle bus or just phoning or using WhatsApp to contact the hotel to arrange pick up for less of a fee than the taxis charge at the taxi rank.

Would not advise renting a car unless you're used to driving incredibly narrow roads at extreme gradients.

We spent a wonderful few days here and are very satisfied. Of course, its location can be considered a disadvantage, but I believe that the incredible beauty of the view and the peace that this place gives has its price.  Moreover, the hotel is happy to provide a transfer service for any of your needs. The hotel staff deserves special praise!  Absolutely everyone is friendly, kind and will do their job on 5+.  They take care of everything - you rest.  This is exactly what you expect from a vacation. Homemade breakfasts are incredibly tasty. We are happy to have discovered this place for ourselves!
