We spent a week at Villa San Michele. Our room was great with a balcony and spacious bathroom. Lots of storage and a mini fridge. Quiet location and superb 25m swimming pool. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. We had a couple of lunches which were delicious. We chose not to dine as preferred to go into Lucca. 10 minutes by car/ taxi to Lucca.

A small criticism but there was only one reception area, which included reception and the bar. As a result there was nowhere really to have a drink in the evening. A separate small reception room for the bar or relaxing would have been perfect Also swimming pool towels were the same colour as room towels.

Villa San Michele was outstanding. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is exceptional absolutely 5 star 🌟 The new conservatory is fantastic and really adds to the quality. The rooms are spacious and spotless and cleaned everyday if you want to a very high standard. The coffee and breakfast is amazing. The pool and grounds are kept so well and really have captured the tuscany landscape. I would hands down recommend this Villa to anyone, I will be returning. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making my stay so special.

Beautiful location with a brand new restaurant, our bathroom looked new too as were the fluffy towels. Our toom was a little old fashioned though and the glass topped unit in the wardrobe hadn't been dusted, it was otherwise clean. Food was lovely but service was slow, I know its the Italian way but we sat down at 7.30pm and it was almost 11.00pm by the time we were offered desserts. Our piatti secondi were room temperature, but very tasty. Staff were excellent throughout. So close to a 10/10 and I think they'll get there.

Cold food we'd waited an hour for.

This is a lovely spot to relax on the outskirts of Lucca. The hotel is clean and surrounded by olive trees and its comfortable pool area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. It was so nice to relax by the pool and eat meals on the patio. Lucca is a charming town with great restaurants, a calm vibe, and the city wall to bike or walk along. We enjoyed exploring Lucca from this comfortable home base.

We went into Lucca via taxi each day. The taxi cost about 20 euros each way (August 2022). It was easy to get a taxi from the hotel in the afternoon, but a little trickier to get one back to the hotel at night. There are only about 25 taxis in town, so you may have to be patient during busy times. This is not the hotel's fault, but is something to plan on if you don't rent a car.

Lovely quiet location only 5mins drive from the centre of Lucca, the hotel has bicycles and scooters available to hire, it only takes 15mins to cycle to Lucca. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was excellent with a great selection of wines, if you are not sure which wine to choose, Edwardo guided our wine choice and got it spot on.

Not a dislike, the building is a fantastic old traditional villa, just watch out after a glass or two of wine as some of the floors are uneven ;o)

Beautiful country villa hotel, with spacious grounds littered with olive trees and a sizable swimming pool. Terrific staff, giving wonderful and charming service. We can't wait to find an excuse to go back for more.

Cuisine is great from a short menu, but the menu is fixed for a week at a time. This doesn't really matter as there are many other dining options, including the San Micheles sister Hotel.

Lovely pool and gardens. Staff were exceptional and booked evening meals for us at local restaurants.

We were disappointed to find the restaurant would be closed on our first night, Tuesday. Also despite the great efforts of staff it was impossible for the kitchen to keep up with the demands of a very large party as well as other residents on our second night and we had to wait a long time for our meal.

Stunning location and views, completely unexpected as we hadn’t paid much attention when booking (we just wanted a hotel close to Pisa airport for our final two days of holiday) and we were so overwhelmed with how gorgeous and tranquil the place was that we just decided to stay there for the rest of the holiday rather than go out and do any more activities. The hotel has a 20s style feel, and the lobby is a lovely place to have a drink. We used the time for some proper relaxing and proper holiday unwinding, booked a wonderful massage, enjoyed the pool which is so so clean. The food was immense too, really special and for reasonable prices. Quality is not overlooked, and the service was impeccable. Breakfast was just want we needed, with hot and cold options and coffees and juice. A tranquil, peaceful place with amazing staff who wanted to help with anything they could. Every single staff member we dealt with were fantastic, professional and helpful. We can’t wait to return when we come back to Italy. Thank you Villa San Michele ❤️

beautiful property and lovely quiet grounds... nice pool for cooling off. Restaurant well placed with nice views over the grounds and food excellent.

Rooms were a bit tired and needed updating whilst still keeping the villas character. Would have liked the menu to have changed more frequently especially as the food/chef was excellent.

The whole staff was very friendly and supportive at any time. The hotel itself lies within a beautiful environment as it is located within the nature of Lucca. The best is the outdoor pool surrounded by olive trees. I can also recommend to have dinner at the restaurant, the food and service was superb. We also rented a Vespa to have a unique experience in the Toscana region.
