We had a room with a terrace. It was every bit as lovely as expected. We enjoyed our breakfast there and ended up spending time in the afternoon, just reading. The room itself was small, but the hotel managed this expectation so we were ok. The shower was great, hot and with good pressure, which is unexpected in such an old building. The layout of the room was well thought through and we had space for our things. The hotel is not easy to find, but we got a message ahead of time to help us with that. The location is unbeatable, right at the very center of Milan. The hotel is pricey but we felt we got the value we were after. To us, the lovely terrace in the center of a busy city was the main selling feature.

Something to be aware of. It is an old building so there are a lot of stairs. There is a very small lift, which does work, but it may take a couple of rounds to transport your suitcases in it. Another thing to be mindful of is coffee. For Italians, coffee is espresso, and they frequently struggle with the concept of american coffee, including in Starbucks. The one we had for breakfast was 4 or 5 shots of espresso in a large cup which was not possible to drink. The issue was easily resolved by switching to tea for the rest of our stay in Italy. The bed was a little too hard, but I understand the hotel is looking into it already.

We didn’t try the breakfast, so we can’t comment on that, but the location was superb! Communication with the staff was pleasant; they genuinely seem to care about their guests’ experience. For example, on our last day, since we didn’t attend breakfast, they kindly offered us coffee and cake—they truly wanted us to feel cared for. This was a 4-day romantic getaway without the kids, so we didn’t need much beyond a comfortable room and a great location. The room was compact but the perfect size for us—not too small, with a spacious terrace where we enjoyed relaxing and watching the quiet street below. The location was ideal—right in the center, walking distance to everything, yet tucked away on a side street, making it peaceful and quiet. We had an amazing vacation, and this place perfectly suited our needs. Highly recommend it for couples looking for a cozy and convenient stay.

This hotel is a gem. It forms part of a larger, historic building so feels special and unique. The rooms are unusual and we had a lovely big terrace that effectively doubled the size of the room. Very good, hot shower. Spotlessly clean throughout. The breakfast was just the right amount - cereals, yoghurts and fruit, as well as a basket of pastries with choice of freshly prepared eggs and a cheese and ham plate. The staff were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly, creating a really nice atmosphere in the hotel. The location is perfect for walking to the main city centre attractions.

This is just a tiny thing and obviously all about personal preference but I found the bed a little too firm.

Accommodation is generally quite expensive in Milan, but we were very pleased with our choice as the room was really lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel location was ideal for walking all the main attractions. The staff were also very attentive, gave great advice of where to eat etc. Would highly recommend the property.

Very common with European properties, but a very old tiny lift for effectively luggage only - be prepared for stairs!

The central location was great but a little hard to find. The room with a terrace was bright and open but as it rained the three days we could not use the terrace. As the reception is on the first floor and requires stairs it was a challenge with heavy luggage but there was a lift that took us to the third floor room.

Suggest more hooks in the bathroom to hang towels etc and also a coffee machine which most hotels have today.

Location was great, close to everything we wanted to do. Staff helpful and friendly. Our room was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows on two sides that opened to a beautiful garden terrace. It was a nice place to sit in the morning after breakfast. Nice continental breakfast downstairs.

Bed was not very comfortable. Because our room was all windows, it got very warm in the afternoon. Make sure to pull down the shades if you leave for the day. It took a while for the room to cool down.

The property is in a great location, being only a short walk into the city centre. The terraces were lovely and the flowers made the hotel have a great feel.

The shower area was very small and the shower head was full of limescale, meaning that there was very little water pressure. The breakfast was also very limited, although the staff were attentive and welcoming. There was also only a thin bed sheet and small blanket available, which in the chiller evenings wasn’t ideal but I didn’t ask for more blankets so can’t complain too much. Room service also took quite some time to come.

Antica Locanda dei Mercanti is a short walk from most areas of interest to tourists, including the Duomo, Castello Sforza, Santa Maria delle Grazie, Pinacoteca Brera, etc. Our room was large and comfortable, with a separate sitting area. Breakfast was ample and delicious. Staff were professional and helpful.

After an afternoon rainstorm, we needed to dry out our wet clothes, but it was impossible to turn on the towel warmer in our bathroom.

It’s a quiet, beautiful gem of a place in the middle of it all. The location is very, very central, on a small side street, with an easy walk to the Duomo and the shopping district. It’s located in an old building with renovated, comfy and beautifully decorated rooms with a contemporary flair. The staff is helpful and personal. The breakfast is not a big buffet but served at your table. It’s small scale and intimate. This was our third visit to this hotel and we hope to be back.

There is nothing we don’t like about this hotel. It feels very private and cozy. If you are interested in a big lobby, bar and places to hang out, this is not it.

Perfect location, near to the fmost tourist attractions of Milano. Not too many and different rooms. Modern interior, very nice personnel at the reception (Ady, Constantinople). Good breakfast.
