We stayed in The Duomo suite on the ground floor, which was spacious and included a beautiful garden terrace with seating provided and a lovely green living-wall screen. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom also spacious. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of cereals, breads and seasonal summer fruits including mango and papaya were available. There were lots of cold meats and cheeses for buffet service. Hot food was also available and the coffee was great! In the evening, we very much appreciated the happy hour free first drink at the hotel bar too! The hotel is ideally located centrally in Milan and within easy walking distance of the beautiful Duomo cathedral, the Sforza Castle and the fashionable streets of Milan. The tram and metro stops are also very close by. All the Reception staff and the manager were very helpful. They also contacted an excellent taxi company Milano Transfer (https://milanotransfer.eu/)for us to use for our travels to the airport and also to Lake Como during our stay. We would certainly highly recommend staying at Hotel Milano Castello.

Everything was great

The staff members were extremely helpful every time I went to ask a question or for help with getting a cab, etc. The breakfast was excellent, had enough healthy choices of fresh fruit, yogurt, and bread even for someone like me who needs gluten free food. The location is perfect, easy to get to the Duomo and attractions as well as Porta Garibaldi train station.

It would be nice if an electric kettle was provided in the room for morning coffee or tea. However, when I asked for one, they were very nice to give it to me to bring to my room.

Hotel grounds - most notably the walled private courtyard - were exceptional. Staff were also exceptional, friendly, and most helpful. The breakfast was outstanding ('fancy' coffee like expresso and latte are available - just ask the breakfast attendant). Hotel is just a 2 minute walk from Via Dante where a number of excellent sidewalk restaurants - and excellent people watching - await you, and is an easy walk to all central attractions. Hotel offers a free drink from the bar every night 6...9 - and not just 'wine or beer' - there's an extensive list including many cocktails - and the size of the drinks we had was very generous. Even if you don't drink alcohol, go there and have a water just to meet the bartender - he will brighten your day :-)

Even the worst hotel typically has coffee in the room - given that you excelled in every other area, I found it odd that you do not offer any coffee in the room. You could at least offer self-serve instant coffee and hot water in the breakfast or bar area on a 24/7 basis so that people like me (jet lagged and waking up at 4am) could go have a coffee while waiting for breakfast to start.

Very central location for my first time visiting Milan. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street but 2 blocks away from main streets with plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops, and tourist attractions nearby including the Duomo, only a 10-minute walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful, assisting with luggage storage and calling cabs. I especially enjoyed the complimentary aperitivo hour, and enjoyed talking to the bar men who provided great restaurant and cocktail bar suggestions. After traveling in Europe for 2.5 months, I was surprised to find how spacious and comfortable the room was.

This hotel sits smack in the middle of Il Duomo and the Castle Sforzesco, just off the main tourist stretch in Milan. It is just off the street meaning you miss the commotion but get the benefits of the location. Complementary breakfast is ample with a variety of meats, cheeses, and pastries and seasonal fruit. It looked like you could special order eggs, but that was not something that was offered. Nice happy hour with a choice of classic cocktail or bar and seasoned chips. Even better is that this hotel abuts a neighborhood where people live, La Brera, and is perfect for nights out. Room itself was a gorgeous spacious suite with a jacuzzi and a little patio that was perfect for sunny weather. Nice sitting area, TVs and more. Streaming TV available. Very nice bathroom, as well.

Staff at breakfast didn't interact and therefore it was hard to get hot water for tea. Toiletries were not fully refreshed.

Hotel Milano Castello is a beautiful and comfortable hotel in a prime, central, quiet location. They kindly upgraded us to a well-appointed ground floor suite. The bed, the bathroom, the shower, were excellent. The breakfast is delicious and offers many choices. The hotel also offers a free cocktail beginning at 6:00 pm, which we enjoyed. The bartender, Andy, is a friendly and fun guy who made us feel so welcome, and he knows how to mix a great drink too. The sculptures throughout the hotel and the terrace are very nice.

Fabulous hotel. Location really great. Short walk to Duomo and Santa Maria delle Grazie. It is modern, feels luxurious, quiet, has a small restaurant & bar and has central AC which is a big plus in the summer in Milan! I booked last minute and got an amazing rate for this room (it's usually more expensive). Staff were wonderful too. I arrived early. They stored my luggage and showed me to the lovely lobby where I could sit and cool off and charge my phone. They got my room ready quickly and came and told me I could checkin. After my 1-night stay, they stored my luggage for me again while I took a morning tour. When I returned they called a taxi for me that arrived in 6 minutes. Wonderful service, beautiful hotel & room, great location and staff spoke excellent English. Thank you!!

Breakfast selection and quality was very good. It was easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go.

It was difficult to get to your hotel with a rental car and luggage. Once there, it was a great location. The front office staff was not particularly helpful in helping us figure out the "restricted driving zone pass". They told us about it, which was good, but since we didn't have Euros - we were basically on our own trying to figure out what to do. It was finally after frantic trips to non-working ATMs, with our car illegally parked in front of the hotel, that someone finally gave us the name of a place that we could go that would accept Visa. They could have saved us over an hour of aggravation, worry, and precious time by just giving us that information up front! The room should have some more and better located outlets for charging electronics.

The hotel is located in the center of the city, but manages to hide in a quite corner, providing cozy and peaceful place to stay. The room was clean, pretty spacious, and everything was in perfect condition, seems to be new. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Bartender Andy is very kind and open, making awesome Negronis and Spritz. We were also suprised by happy hours in the bar - from 6 to 9 pm first drinks are free, which calls for a drink sitting in the bar's courtyard before the night out in the city. Location of the hotel is just perfect to reach main sightseeing sites. Overall, this place left us with nothing but positive experience. I'd stay another time without hesitation.

Last minute booking and it did not disappoint! The staff were so helpful and friendly, barman Andy especially, he was soooo accommodating, funny, always had lovely chats with us, he checked the weather for us when we were headed out! So friendly! The room was beautiful, massive, clean, mini fridge was always fully stocked and all complimentary, breakfast was perfect! The bar was open from 6pm with the first drink being free each evening! Location was absolutely IDEAL. 5 minute walk from Duomo and 2 minutes from 2 metro stations. I would 100% return to this hotel if I was to visit Milan again!
