My partner and I had never been to Milan so we didn’t know where to stay. When we came across the Avani on Booking.com I was hesitant because I usually only stay at places with a 8.5-9+ star rating. We wanted to be close to Brera and we were only supposed to stay one night so we said why not. We were arriving to Milan in the morning from Palermo and the check in wasn’t until later in the afternoon. We emailed to see if an early check in was possible and they responded we could check in immediately— this was music to our ears. When we arrived, they upgraded us free of charge (we think it was a slower business time so they had the means— which they didn’t have to do, very grateful). Check in was easy and fast, the staff was very friendly. Walking into the Jr Suite was amazing after a long week of travel. That night I became sick unexpectedly. Not knowing what the Italian medicine equivalent would be to the normal American care, my partner ask the front desk for advisement. The front desk associate was kind enough to write out a list of things that help him when he has similar symptoms and pointed my boyfriend in the direction of a 24 hour pharmacy (it’s important to note you cannot buy medicine at grocery stores or tobacco shops/liquor stores, only pharmacies). While we were only supposed to stay at this hotel for one night, we asked to stay another night because I was so sick. Not knowing whether or not the fee would increase or they would need to move us since the room they gave us wasn’t technically ours to begin with— when the staff found out, we would like to extend, they were more than accommodating. They let us keep the same room at the same rate we originally booked at.  Waking up on the day of our check out, we were looking for a place to store our luggage so we didn’t need to lug around our belongings before our train in the afternoon.

The hallways smelt a little too much like cleaner but other than that, it was a great stay.

Really this location was everything we could have asked for in Milan. Located around lots of restaurants and convenient to the train station, the staff was instantly extremely accommodating. We were given water first thing upon entering the hotel, followed by the staff making us a dinner reservation, helping us understand the onsite spa (that includes a free 30 minute sauna/Turkish bath/jacuzzi and tea and biscuits), and showing us our room.

Perfect location! Staff was friendly and helpful, and fully available even during late evening. Breakfast was diverse and overall very good.

The fruit salad (macedonia) at breakfast was tasteless. The shower is badly designed: 1. the plate on the floor was wobbly, and I almost fell once. 2. BEWARE when you open the water, it pours COLD from the ceiling!! 3. The door of the shower was hard to open/close and you can't put the bath mat on the floor and close the door at the same time... so be prepared to have a wet floor.

The place is pretty great, Facilities are very nice. Everything's looks clean The room was comfortable. The staff is a must, helpful, really nice, and always welcomes you smiling. I enjoyed the spa included in the stay, especially after a long day visiting and walking across the city. Breakfast was really good too and large choice Delicious scrambled eggs 😀

The only time I came across something missing during the stay was maybe after the shower when I looked for a place to let the towels dry.

Amazing staff, very prompt answer to requests, very pleasant room.

Both me and my friend found the room very cold ( middle of April). We requested two more duvets, which helped at night, but the room was cold. The cleaner removed the kettle and our tea bags without asking whether we were done with it. We shared our thoughts with the reception staff, which were very helpful and tried to rectify our issues.

Very nice modern rooms. We had a particularly large amount of luggage because we are travelling on cruises as well as in hotels and apartments. The manager kindly up-graded our room to a Junior Suite at no added cost to accommodate the space we needed for so many cases. They also let patrons stay in their rooms until 12:00pm, which is most helpful if moving on to further locations. This is a hotel we have stayed in, in the past, and will return to in the future.

great restaurant downstairs and the help were very helpful and nice. The jr suite was perfect for my son and I it was almost like 2 bedrooms in one.

I didn’t like that I had to put my key in the wall to make the AC and lights work.

The location is great as it is around very good eating places and also being near Chinatown. The room itself is on the smaller size, however for short term stays is more than enough. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the first room we were in and they immediately resolved the issue and moved us to another room without any sort of headache or pushback. (it was the sort of problem that can happen anywhere, not specifically to this hotel). Overall if I am back in Milan will stay here again.

Some noises from the AC Unit which made us change rooms. They were there in the second woom we had as well but way less, so no issues there. Maybe you can take a look at those.

Liked the location and the staff the most. The hotel has nice clean lines and it has a modern touch to it. Cleanliness is exceptional, the staff very polite and responsive. Special thanks to Deborah from the breakfast room, she was very polite and went out of her way to make it a pleasant experience. Also Federico, from the breakfast room. Many thanks to Evy from reception, helped with every quiery we had, also Chiara. Staff is great overall.

The breakfast. It felt like in flight food, generic and poor taste. Except for the cooked stuff, which was scrambled eggs and pancakes. Don't misunderstand me, the cooks are probably excellent but quality of the ingredients is apauling. Will visit the hotel again but doubt will repeat the breakfast experience.

We were, as with every stays at NH Collection Hotels, very happy with the hotel. The staff was very friendly, even upgraded our room sponaniousely. The rooms are very clean and decorated nicely. That's also a reason why we like to stay at NH Collection Hotels. Their furnishings of the rooms are always very simple and pleasant. Not to conspicuous. Also the rooms are very quiet. This specific hotel is situated at a great location. On foot you're at an interesting place in Milano in no time. If you want to go further there's a Metro Station 5 minutes from the hotel.
