Location was amazing, staff delightful, breakfast was wonderful. I would have given full marks had it not been for the aircon. We set it to 17 but it was consistently 24.5 despite help from staff. Luckily we had some fans with us. I’m sure most are fine with it. Regardless we had a wonderful stay and can’t thank the staff enough for their assistance and friendliness. The rooms were beautiful and clean and paid parking right in front of hotel so no dragging of suitcases up and down the cobblestones. We got a view of the castle as well and despite the jazz concert, you cannot hear it from the room. They have thought of every detail and there was a small outdoor sitting area which we enjoyed. We loved Roberto the cat too who wanders around outside.

We rented the apartment which was a few blocks from the main lodging. Apartment was in the center of town, spacious and comfortable. It included a washing machine which was a bonus. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Edna who served our breakfast each day and Sara who did our wine tasting. The made to order breakfast was excellent.

It was not a problem for us, but the location of the apartment is not accessible by car so you have to haul your luggage from the lot by the main inn for a few blocks on stone roads that slope, then carry the luggage up a flight of stairs. You also have to walk up the few blocks to the inn for breakfast, but if you don't mind walking the apartment is great and convenient to shops and restaurants.

Really an excellent experience! Rooms are beautiful, everything works well, paid parking just few meters from the room. Excellent breakfast. Thanks to the people operating the Drogheria e Locanda Franci has this place exceptionally good energy. Very nice and helping people, both in the hotel and their restaurant. Whenever we return to Montalcino, this will be our first choice! The restaurant is just perfect! Nice place, nice people, superb menu and even better wine list. Absolutely top experience and fuly recommended! And again, whenever we are back in Montalcino, we are sure we need not search for the restaurant for our dinner. We will be more than happy to dine there!!! Congratulations and thank you!

WE stayed in the apartment which is a few blocks from the actual hotel. It is great and very convenient to everything in the city except parking. Also you cannot drive to the front of the apartment to unload your luggage so you need to roll it for several blocks. The breakfast is at the cafe next to the hotel and it is very good. From the apartment you need to walk up several hills to get to the cafe.

Parking was a real problem and it cost 8 Euro per day to park in the public lot next to the hotel which is several blocks from the apartment.

Sara and her staff were incredibly kind and accommodating! We arrived later in the evening and Sara had the keys ready and parking instructions. She even made a reservation at their restaurant knowing we’d be weary travelers. They also were able to provide us with another room last minute (we were also lucky it was "off-season"- November). My son missed breakfast the first morning and Sara offered a pastry for us to take on the go for him. Everyone was incredibly polite and friendly. The beds were so very comfortable, the sheets were crisp and clean. Bathrobes and slippers were provided. 5-star hotel toiletries (shampoo & conditioner, pretty soap and body wash. toothbrush, make-up kit and sewing kit, shower cap--so well stocked). We stayed in the Cerbaia, Casserro and Berelli rooms--each one had its own charm. All so charming. Our beds were made every day, the room tidied and towels replaced as needed. Indeed, you can see the castle from the window of your bedrooms! AMAZING! Incredibly scenic and photographic location as is Montalcino itself. Well done!

The property has so much to offer; great location, comfy bed, modern furnishings with a traditional tip of the hat to the area, excellent breakfast and staff.

Air conditioning is a sticking point, does not cool the room entirely on a very hot day. A ceiling fan would fix this.

Phenomenal breakfast, friendly staff, great room. Enormous and comfortable bathroom with deluxe amenities. Public parking right out front is free for the night and really easy- I recommend paying for the hours it’s not free and keeping the car there!

You could hear everything going on in the staircase through the door, we did not have any noisy guests staying at the same time, but make sure you’re respectful if you get up early in the AM. You can t be heard from the outside in, just the way the old building echoes! Otherwise, there’s little negative that can be said about this property!!!!!!

Perfect for a one night stay in Montalcino, very close to the castle and surrounding cafes/restaurants. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. The highlight was the dinner in the restaurant downstairs - beautiful food and wine. The breakfast was also delicious and fresh.

For convenience we paid for the parking at the small carpark opposite the hotel as the free parking offered was too far away for us.

Drogheria is a lovely B&B situated in a very old building which has been refurbished to a very high standard. It was comfortable, clean, had excellent amenities and the staff were fantastic. It has stunning views of the fortress and is located perfectly to walk into Montalcino village or exit the town to explore wider Tuscany.

Nothing - it really was the perfect place to stay

Breakfast was lovely with lots of options (best scrambled eggs I have had in a hotel) and when I was feeling under the weather one day, they gave my husband a tray for me to have in my room. Very helpful staff who worked hard to check us in, make reservations, offer suggestions etc. Sara was particularly kind and helpful.

My double was a little tight for two people but very clean, plenty of blankets, pillows, and comfortable bed. Complimentary water, coffee, tea, fresh air (huge windows), plenty of hot water and nice toiletries made up for it.
