fabulous base for exploring the region! after some initial teething issues our stay was lovely, the staff were really kind and were excellent at dealing with my dietary requirements (we were staying half board) the pool area and gardens were beautiful and our room was a good size with a great balcony. Breakfast was delicious we will definitely be back

the road can be a little noisy in the mornings & the beds are memory foam, as a personal preference we find them uncomfortable

Villa Ambra is located about 10 minutes from Montepulciano, in a very quiet area. The loudest were the doves which woke us up every morning. The rooms and beds were very comfortable, and at breakfast we had a wide variety to choose from. Also the food in the restaurant in the hotel and the restaurant next door is really recommendable.

Although the pool was really great, some more umbrellas would be a big advantage because there are not many places in the shadow available.

The hotel has friendly staff and offers a delicious breakfast. It was good value for money There is also a restaurant on location that I highly recommend. We were lucky enough to have a room with fantastic views of Montepulciano.

The bathroom needs some maintenance. Our shower leaked out onto the floor so be mindful it could be very slippery. We used an extra towel to soak it up.

Hotel is well equipped with everything needed. Tere is spacious swimming pool and decent restaurant. We stayed at the apartment in annex building about 150 metres from main hotel building. It has its own parking space which is very useful concerning many guests in main building. Breakfast was rich and included sweets as well as salted elements (it is necessary to ask for salties). Montepulciano is about 4-5 km from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every occasion.

Electric kettle could be useful. There is no shower holder in bathroom with bathtub.

Definitely hire a car if possible. We opted to use public transport and although the bus station is situated directly outside the accomodation, buses only run on the hour and you are limited to the places that the buses take you which is a shame in Tuscany. The hotel breakfast is lovely and the staff are friendly. The pool is clean and has day beds. There is a lovely restaurant down the driveway which I recommend not to miss!

The villa is located in a gorgeous tuscan landscape where you can enjoy the nature. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant offers delicious local food, must try the lamb with a great red whine. Here I have enjoyed the best breakfast ever on the terrace thanks to the great staff and local goods. The pool is clean and large enough to enjoy it in a sunny day under the Tuscan sun. I recommend to experience the wine tasting at the owner's winery which is very close to the location and has a beautiful view over the tuscan hills. We hope to return here someday.

The experience here was very nice. I recommend though a little refurbishing to the rooms.

Nice location close to everything - the pizza restaurant next door is a must it was amazing ! The best pizza in Italy yet , try the local wine too was so good !

We had breakfast included and they charged us for the coffee . Bit strange , as usually that’s included . Lovely breakfast though.

What a great place to stay. Lovely location in the hills of Toscany. Family owed. Very friendly and hospitable. We loved the dinner (homemade gnocchi, pasta with ragu sauce, lamb chops and rabbit stew) served with wine from family owed vineyard. Highly recommend having dinner here. Breakfast was delicious as well. The pool is great. Wished we stayed extra days. We would absolutely come back again

This was my third year visiting Villa Ambra so that means I like the place a lot. For me the breakfast in the garden is the highlight with the pool coming in a close second. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect for exploring the area, with Pienza and Montepulciano within 10 minute drives;

nothing to complain about

was outside of Montepluciano but a quick drive to it. Obviously need a rental car to enjoy property fully. We stayed in the Apartment which was two bedroom, two bathroom and full kitchen. 45 minute drive to Montalcino. closer to Sienna and Pienza.
