The staff are all very friendly and helpful! It was our anniversary so we received a bottle of Prosecco on arrival and an anniversary cake on our final night, which was a really lovely touch. The communal areas - the pool, the reception and the lounge - are beautiful and were lovely spaces to relax. Both restaurants were great, with delicious food, and the Michelin starred restaurant in particular was exceptional.
Our room felt a little dated (the air con was old and smelt bad, the TV was old and had no English channels) and the bathroom felt a little grubby, with bits of mould growing and slugs coming in every night. Considering the slightly lower-quality bedroom, prices at the hotel felt high. We paid about €65 for a sandwich, a portion of chips and two drinks for lunch one day. Travelling anywhere outside of the hotel is also extremely expensive, as you have to get a hotel-booked private taxi - we went out for dinner on our second day and the round-trip cost us €210, so we didn’t leave the hotel for the rest of our stay as a result!

There are a thousand positive things to write about this hotel but there is one stand out point and that's the incredible staff at Petra Segreta. It‘s like checking in to a place where you immediately feel yourself surrounded by family and yet you are treated by the highest possible standard of luxury and hospitality. This fine line is executed to absolute perfection and makes a sky high difference to other hotels on costa smeralda that I stayed at before. There is a huge and beautifully decorated lobby where you can chat and have drinks or just sit by the fire and read. You are never pressured to order something, yet you are never left aside. In my opinion it is the highest art of hospitality to create this unique atmosphere! It’s the reason why you wanna sit in the lobby even though the bluest and prettiest coasts awaits you in just 20-30minutes driving distance. I suppose that says everything. To be recommended wholeheartedly! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!
The included breakfast is great, a small bothering point is that you pay supplement for waffels and pancakes.

Excellent facilities and privacy. The views from the room were amazing and the whole place is kept very clean and beautiful, as you would expect from a Relais & Chateaux. Breakfast had a great variety of options. Staff were friendly. All in all it felt like a very special place. It is located close to many beautiful beaches. We had a great time while there.
The hotel should advice guests with cars never to turn left out of the property, even if Google Maps suggests it, since the road was in a very poor condition. Had we not had a 4x4 wheel drive we would have been stuck or broken the car. Turning to the right instead , even if you drive a bit longer, works very well, as the road is maintained. The normal restaurant (not the Michelin star) was too pricey for the food it serves : a set menu, which with wine comes up to 400 euros for 2 people. .

The location is excellent. Amazing views over the coastline. The food was excellent although we didn't have the full tasting menu at the Michelin Restaurant. The meals we had were very good albeit a bit pricey but we were aware of this. We stayed for four nights but two nights would have been enough as there is nowhere local to go and maybe try other restaurants. The staff were very helpful with limited English but enough for each of us to be understood.
I thought I had booked a room with a walk in shower as that was the photo I had from booking.com but it was a shower over a bath. We had sunbeds in our little outside space but were not allowed any cushions similar to those round the pool area. We didn't sit around the main pool as there was no wifi signal and we like to have wifi so this meant we stayed in our little outside space where the wifi was also not great but did work. It is very isolated which we were aware of so I would suggest renting a car to be able to get out and about. Taxis very expensive in the area.

Petra is a high end property in an unbelievable location - incredible views of the area from everywhere. The rooms were actually separate houses (duplexes) some with their own pools. The restaurant is magnificent (expected as Relais Chateaux) and the service was exceptional.
At this level, we expected the simple things like a good espresso machine in the room (we had instant coffee and a water boiler) to be a given. The property is isolated which is part of the appeal - but the road to get there is challenging (even by Italy standards). Unfortunately, we were there in heavy mosquito season and it would have been nice to have screened doors and windows so we could enjoy the cool nights of late September but there were none.

View was Fantastic,Breakfeast let the place down with choice and a charge/supplement for Ham and cheese toast and omelettes Taken into account the grand scheme of things, they should of charged you 50 euro more when booking hotel to cover this off,its mean/annoying/ just does not fit the style of Relais and Chateaux.
Beds in room not comfortable, pillows not great. Breakfast charge/supplement. Taxi charge, outrageous. Check in, International Visa Credit did not work on 2 visa machines. TV in room no English stations/ movies, 100 channels and 1 English station …….. BBC WORLD NEWS !!!! Limited Food choice

A heavenly place, secluded, peaceful, serene. Beautifully designed, tasteful, a very stylish setting. A detox destination for all senses. A five star resort for the wealthy which are present in abundance. And yet grace to a young and genuinely enthusiastic staff it manages to maintain the unique feeling of authentic italian hospitality. The one star restaurant is renown for a resson. The view that comes with the great food is spectacular. The service is spotless (- beside whenever we got our coates taken care for we never got them back without explicitly asking for them. Since the food was so good we never did. Whether we were already back in our room or at the next holiday destination. We contribute this to the staffs joyous eager to please attitude: they make sure you do come back - again. )
The seclusion of the location makes it a real challenge to get there by car - it is thrilling. If you never participated at the rally Paris-Dakar but always felt tempted to: trust google maps to find a short cut.

The hotel is set in an idyllic location some minutes drive from the cute village of San Pantaleo. Staff is well prepared and friendly. Rooms are specious, clean and comfortable. The terrace is to die for. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Do not miss the sweet offer! This is an ideal retreat and get-away-from-it-all to couples and those who really need to detach from the hassle and bustle of everyday life.
There are very few, or rather nothing, that I didn't like. Perhaps my advice is not to go there at all since returning to normal life can be very stressful after your stay!

Very pretty location in the countryside. The property is well designed and beautifully decorated with amazing views over the coast. Food is exceptional in the Michelin restaurant and staff were attentive and friendly and very professional, every effort made to make you feel at home.
The property is quite remote and so can feel a little cut off which could be both a plus and minus. The remoteness is an issue to the lack of a lot of food choice. The room was very dark and poorly designed compared to the public rooms. No convenient place to do make up and plug in hairdryer for a mirror. Food and drink we found very expensive.

Location, interior design, Michelin star restaurant, selection and quality of beverages, and proximity to local village.
Breakfast Lacked hot dishes.Accommodation lacked adequate sound insulation given noisy neighbours on two nights. Junior suits should really be detached. Restricted menus in standard restaurant when you were there for six nights.
