Casa Martini is a great family-run small hotel/B&B. Because it's small, it doesn't have the amenities of a large hotel (no pool, gym, super-elaborate breakfast, etc). That said, the rooms are clean and comfortable, including the beds and shower, with good wifi and good sound-proofing against street noise. There's a cute breakfast room at the roof in which an eggs to your liking-toast-cold cuts-croissant-drinks-fruit breakfast is served. There's also a small common kitchen with complementary tea and cookies as well as a small library. The staff is great: the breakfast staff remembered our preferences, and owner Gianluca communicates quickly and clearly. He was also very helpful in advising on tourist attractions and pointing out the best walking routes. One of the best things about Casa Martini is its location. It's a mere 10 min. walk from the Vatican (we hung out at St Peter's square quite a bit, great spot to watch people), and right next to metro stop Ottaviano, which really adds to your mobility. As everywhere in Rome, there are numerous good restaurants nearby.

Casa Martini is on the fourth (top) floor of a non-descript building which from the outside does not indicate there's a hotel inside. We arrived late at night and given that there is no sign of Casa Martini at the outside of the building, we really wondered if we were at the right place. For future guests: there's a sign for the British school at a ground-floor window and a 24/7 bakery right next door (staircase going down from street level; awesome little store, we recommend the pesto rice balls). The entrance to Casa Martini is the main big brown double doors. Inside, go right to the elevator, 4th floor, and right again out of the elevator.

Our experience was absolutely great! Everything was just perfect! The location is super good. All the main attractions are in a 50-60 min walking distance. Vatican is just in 10 min walking from the hotel. There is a metro station just one block away from the hotel, and several bus lines, so you can get to any place easily. Both are very comfortable and easy to use. The room was very nice, cosy and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. Everything super clean (the room was cleaned daily!). You have shampoo and shower gel, amazing white towels, air conditioner, little fridge and a coffee machine in the room. There is also a common kitchen which is open 24 hours a day. You can enjoy some tea or coffee with tasty cookies at any time. The breakfast also deserves to be mentioned as one of the most positive things of our stay. It is served on the roof terrace of the building, and is very complete. You get a good variety of tasty things, that are served by the anfitrión and his small team. It was a perfect start of the day. The atmosphere was very friendly, we really felt like at home. My 2-year old son misses a lot this beautiful “tradition” of having breakfast on the terrace 😊😊😊 And THE ANFITRIÓN GIANLUCA is the best of the best! From the very first moment he was sooooo friendly and helpful. He helped us with the airport transfer (which is very recommendable by the way). He explained us where to go, what to see, how to get, where to eat, etc… He was always available for anything we might need… THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for having made our stay in Rome unforgettable! If only we had a chance to come back to Rome one day, we wouldn’t hesitate: this is the right place to stay!

It is impossible not to fall in love with it. Everything was perfect.

The location was great for us, away from the main tourist areas and a really welcoming haven after a long day sightseeing. The metro station is close by so it’s easy to get around. Gianluca, the owner, is a softly spoken gentleman always ready to support with his extensive knowledge and advice. The team were also fantastic, thank you Lisbeth for the warm welcome when we arrived. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and modern. We also liked being able to use the kitchen to make a cup of tea whenever we wanted - we are English! Good also to have a satisfying breakfast - great omelette especially.

Being very picky, some simple shelves or drawers to put our clothes into would be very welcome as we stayed several days. I think other rooms had this. There was a wardrobe though.

The painted ceiling was gorgeous and the main bed comfortable, however the single beds in the adjoining room had rather hard mattresses. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us. The atmosphere at breakfast was so lovely. The area is away from the main tourist area, but still close to all public transport and facilities, so we got to go to some genuine Italian restaurants, as well as some fantastic restaurants that the staff recommended. Will definitely book there again.

The air conditioning didn't fully cool the room, but that was my only complaint.

The location of the accommodation is very good, and the Vatican City can be reached in 10 minutes by foot. You can take UBER to the main attractions in Rome within 20 minutes. There are many choices of restaurants around. The staff is very enthusiastic from the moment you check in. The accommodation includes breakfast. Although it cannot be compared with star hotels, it is nutritious and filling, especially the dining environment on the top floor is very first-class. The internal facilities are all there. The weather in Rome in July is very hot, and the air conditioning in the accommodation is very cool.

Small boutique hotel, clean and well maintained, great location, nice breakfast- if you need something just tell them. The staff and hosts are always approachable, responsive and helpful. Don’t hesitate to ask them about recommendations. Use their taxi services for airport pickups and drops - avoid the hassle of Uber which can be sometimes unreliable in Rome.

The room felt a little smaller than the picture though the host clarified that there are multiple “Triple Rooms” which vary a little in size from one another. Our room could have additional storage.

Gianluca and his staff's hospitality was exceptional. Fresh, made to order breakfast is served in a covered area on the terrace which in itself is an great experience. He gives personal attention to each guest which we really liked. Multiple choices for eggs, coffee, breads, fruits, yogurts etc. There is also a place to sit down on the terrace and enjoy the sun. From the time we landed and the pickup service (arranged by Gianluca) brought us to Casa Martini, it was a seamless enjoyable experience. His restaurant recommendations, help with planning our daily sightseeing trips, and attention to details is what made our trip to Rome amazing.

We rested in October of 2023 at this wonderful hotel. The magnificent and hospitable host helped us with taxi reservations to and from the airport, suggested nearby cafes and restaurants, shops, and attractions. The hotel has a convenient location, with the metro, bus stops, and many attractions within walking distance. The room is clean, very cozy, and stylish. Excellent rooftop breakfasts: juices, coffee, croissants, fruits, yogurts, eggs in various styles, with and without bacon, toast, cheese, butter. Thank you very much! We will gladly return!

Perfect stay! The location is close to the Vatican (10min by walk) and 100m from the subway if you don't want to walk. You can quickly reach the city center and the most famous places. The place is really well furnited and decorated and you feel home from the moment you pass the door. Gianluca contributed to this pleasant atmosphere providing us advises on where to eat and on visits. We loved the terrace where was served the breakfast! And the breakfast itself was really good. You could find everything you need! The room also was very pleasant. We had the view on the street but the windows is well isolated so that we could not hear the noise. I would definitely recommend the place to visit Rome!

Nothing!

Casa Martini was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I booked Gianluca was in contact welcoming me etc. After much study on the subject I decided to go with his offer to arrange airport pickup for us, via a transfer service. We thought no way would this work out after being in customs for almost 2 hours; but the driver was waiting for us at arrivals! Two side notes to consider: if you are visiting the country and do not have phone service the free wifi at the airport works great with whatsapp, or booking.com messages. I texted Gianluca really quick to let him know we were in customs and he told the driver to wait for us! Like a miracle! You just don't get that kind of service anywhere. 2nd side note, you need to use this offered service. The transfer with busses, metro taxis etc to get to Vatican city area takes about 30 minutes and truly the nightmare of arrival and then trying to figure out how to get to your accommodation just isn't the way you want to enter Rome. Take the service. For 4 of us it was only 65 euro, less with less people. 100% worth it. When we arrived the driver told us exactly where to go. (4th floor) and there a cute little lift so you may go up in turns if you have alot of luggage) on arrival we were warmly greeted by our magnificent host Gianluca. He gave us a map of the city and wrote many useful notes on places to see, places to eat, helpful hints about the metro (which is about a 2 min walk away on the same rd as Casa Martini, and just outside is one of the artisan spring fountains!) You're about a 5-10 min walk from the Vatican entrance depending on your physical level of course. We walked absolutely everyday everywhere except the Colosseum. For that we took the metro. Easy. About the accommodation. We have the green room, it's really well decorated/designed to comfortably fit 4 without feeling crowded. Super comfortable and spacious. Last time I was in Rome we were packed into a tiny space.
