Location was great. Good food and drink venues and other retail within the block. Easy walking to most of the areas of central Rome. Also access to subway and buses is close. Vatican is a few blocks away. The hotel is on the top floor of a multi-use building. It has a 'cool' old style elevator after getting buzzed in the front door but beware that their is a half flight of stairs up after the elevator. Staff is available to lift bags and always greeted us at the door. The rooms have good lights and views. I took the deal on the spa room which translated into good size bedroom and a bath area that was twice as large (I would not do this room again as the proportion of space was awkward and we really only slept in the room.). Staff by and large were excellent... especially Alessandro who always found an answer or solution. Generally, our room was quiet and private. Breakfast was very good and eggs could be cooked to order (coffee is from a large machine that uses pods...not the best).

Bed was firm and did not work for a side sleeper. Pillows were good but not optimal down nor choices. Other than opening the windows there is limited to no control over the room air or temperature. This facility is less than two years old but needs maintenance. Window shutters were loose and blew in the wind. Drains needed cleaning. Our room had limited outlet access around the bed (I asked for an extension cord which flummoxed the staff at first). There are no USB connectors. WIFI worked well.

All the reviews are Staff centric, and I understand them, It's a boutique hotel run by what seems to be a tight nit group of people that treat you and them self as family. Very attentive and extremely welcoming. However, what no one speaks of is the location! You're 5 minutes away from the "start" of the buzzy, tourist packed, roman life, when you arrive at your stay you get the local feel, you have a local cafe right in-front, you get a break from all the tourist (There are many in Rome). Staff is unbeatable, location is unbeatable, very clean and neat, very quiet and charming. When we go back to Rome, we'll adjust our dates based on availability of the hotel. If you're lucky enough to find availability, go for it, you wont regret

The breakfast was great. Cappucino, croissant, omlette, yogurt and fruit. The room was clean. The internet was fast. The staff at reception, breakfast etc. was friendly and helpful (but note that reception is not always open, although staff is always present). The location was perfect for visiting the Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Basilica, and Castle San Angelo.

My luggage was heavy. They have an elevator that goes to the fifth floor. Then I needed a hotel staff person to help carry the luggage up one flight to the sixth floor, where the hotel was located. That was not ideal, but the staff did help so this problem was mitigated.

This boutique hotel is a hidden gem! The customer service is exceptional because the staff truly cares about their guests. Pretty much anything you want/need the staff will make no hesitation to accommodate you. Very professional, courteous and friendly. Breakfast is delicious; basically continental style with assorted breads, deli meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and juice. Tea, coffee and omelets available as well. Rooms are nice and modern. We didn’t have any noise complaints from the outside or adjacent rooms. It’s a really quiet and comfortable stay. The shower was the best part lol.. there’s 2 shower heads that feel like you’re getting a massage!! When you arrive, you will buzz in outside to be let in the building. The hotel is on the 5th floor of the building. There’s a small elevator you’ll take to the 4th floor then walk just a few steps up to the 5th floor. Location is in a nice neighborhood with a pharmacy and mini market across the street, as well various shopping and clothing stores. 10 minute walk from The Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica area.

I was so surprised with the place. The location is perfect! The experience starts as soon as you get into the elevator, which is an original piece! The staff are amazing… so friendly and welcoming. When you are finally in the room, everything is clean, nice and modern. We didn’t have kids this time, but we saw all the care and attention it was given to those with kids. Amazing place and when I return to Rome i will definitely stay there again.

The only small thing was the drain in the shower that was slow so there was at lot of water while we were showering. But again, a small thing compared to the very nice experience.

Upon entering ' ThePlace217 ' I knew there and then that I had made a wise choice . I was greeted by Princess and immediately got a very good vibe as she had a big smile on her face , then Allesandro introduced himself and gave me a look at the hospitable surroundings and led me to my room which I was fully satisfied with . The Hotel has this nice homely feeling and something that I am very fussy about , I couldn't help noticing how quiet and peaceful it was , so far so good as all the boxes were being ticked . Location wise it is excellent , 10 minutes or so to St Peter's and Vatican Museums , 10 to 15 minutes to Castel Sant Angelo , 15 minutes to Piaza Del Popolo that leads one onto The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Via Del Corso (great shopping area ) etc , etc . Back to the Hotel , very comfortable Bed and it's nice and big , nice shower room , TV and no noise from adjoining room .Breakfast was good as there is a nice choice of things to eat and drink . All in all , I couldn't have had a better experience , plus the staff are really helpful and friendly , I'm already missing them . Thanks for making my Holiday a memorable one .

That I had to go home .

Lovely hotel in a good location. Less than 15 minute walk to the vatican, which is very handy considering the traffic from.rome city centre to here can be quite heavy. On arrival, we were very generously upgraded to the suite room. This room was fabulous. The bathroom suite was the highlight, with the jacuzzi and sauna providing us with ample luxury to cure our hangovers. Really was a nice surprise. Wifi perfect, 2 bottles of sparkling or still water in the room and mini bar was well stocked. Staff were briliant, very helpful and allowed us keep our bags here before our flight after we checked out. Very nice breakfast also. Choice of eggs and fresh croissoints etc. Would definitely recommmend.

Nothing negative to say. Slightly hard to find at first but apart from that, all great

This was out third stay here, the location is perfect, the Junior Suite is amazing, the bathroom is stunning and we loved using the jacuzzi and sauna, the bed is so comfortable and no noise from other rooms comes through. You can actually see the top of St Peter’s Basilica from one of the windows. It has been under new management for the last year and half and the staff literally can’t do enough for you! The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels provided.

There isn’t one thing I can list here, even the old elevator is absolutely charming!

Staff was so accommodating to every need and went out of their way to help me due to a very bad back I got from flight. The room we had; King w/ Sauna and Jacuzzi, was wonderful, great shower and large. Breakfast was good with custom eggs if desired.

There was no place to really pull up car to handle bags. If coming via taxi, not much of an issue, but call ahead and they will come help with bags. If by rental car, parking garage is 2 blocks away, 4-5 min walk, and $28/day. Parking was easy though.

The location of the accommodation is good, easy access to metro, the Vatican city and it's located on a shopping street. The area feels safe and it's quiet during the night. The room is spacious, especially the bathroom. I stayed in the one with the sauna, the bathroom is huge, you can fit another double bed in there easily. The staffs are very nice and friendly. We were offered water/tea/coffee even after checking out and coming back to get our suitcases. I thought that was very sweet.

The breakfast is a bit plain, you get some pastry, some yogurt, fruit, cheese, ham and that's about it. It's not an extensive selection to be honest. It was fine with me as I'm not big into heavy breakfast anyways. But if you look for hot food like sausages, beacon etc you might be disappointed. You can however order omelette and fried eggs, I didn't order for the two nights stay but I believe you can if you want.
