very friendly staff

I think it would be good to let people know that a flat rate taxi ride is $50 from the airport and thus it would be easier for people to know that they were being charged more for late night and the luxury. also, it would be good to know that the luxury drivers expect cash rather than card.

The staff were so helpful and caring with information, assistance, and genuine interest whether we needed anything further that they could assist with. Delightful garden to sit and relax or have bfast. Room was cleaned efficiently daily.

The reviews said that bfast was a buffet but it is currently coffee, juice and Danish pastries. However this is due to the Covid caused closure for 3 years and they are currently building up their bfast again. I opted for a single room with communal bathroom. This presented no issue at all. I never had to wait to go to the toilet or have a shower, and for future reference there are options for bathroom ensuites or private bathrooms.

Excellent location in Trastavere. We picked this location due to its proximity to Rome Fiumicino airport as we had an early morning flight and wanted to stay in Trastavere while still enjoying the city for 1night. The hotel itself is in a quiet road situated minutes from the Basilica di Santa Maria. Plenty of good local restaurants, gelatarie etc nearby. Good proximity to the river. The hotel Staff were so friendly and helpful with getting an airport taxi for us. Lovely quiet garden for hotel guests- perfect after a day of sightseeing. There is also a lovely little chapel attached to the hotel- so special. The hotel is situated within a nice old building which is full of character without breaking the bank! Staff were good at communicating with us and giving us recommendations for restaurants. The Rooms The rooms are generally basic and slightly dated but that is to be expected at this pricepoint in Rome. The room and bathroom was clean. No AC. For some reason, the ceiling fan only worked when the lights were on so essentially, there is no fan or AC when you sleep- this could be challenging in July/August heat. For us it was OK as we had the window open. I think they will be installing AC sometime in 2023- TBC.

Beautiful small Hotel in middle of Rome City in Trevastere area. Rooms spacious, with nice shower facilities, facing onto their own garden which was an extra bonus! We sat out there some of the evenings chilling which was heavenly including a fluffy cat prowling around. Breakfast was adequate, continental style. There is no air-conditioning but a big fan in the ceiling that does the job! Staff were exceptionally helpful and chatty which made our stay more special. We were able to get a late check-out for a small fee which was appreciated as our flights left late in the evening. Would definitely stay there again. Thank You!

Sink kept blocking up and not clearing.

A comfortable hotel in a perfect location. This is just near the heart of Trastevere, and perfect for visiting Rome. There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, and also plenty of interesting museums and churches. The centre of Rome can be reached easily by bus, tram, or foot. They also provide a selection of pastries and coffee for breakfast.

At the moment, the decor in the rooms is a bit spartan and institutional, and there is no air conditioning. I gather they are renovating soon, so this criticism will soon be out of date. This is also a very minor issue given the price and superb location!

The location is perfect—close to many neighborhoods that are filled with food and perfect for understanding Italian culture and life. What really blew me away was the service. I had a few medical emergencies, and one staff member in particular—Giorgio—was outstanding. Giorgio was not only attentive in trying to supply me with the necessary medical supplies but would also constantly check-in with me to see how I was doing. Giorgio provided the utmost care and sought the best for me. In all of my travels, I have never met someone so cordial and hospitable as Giorgio. Thank you, Giorgio! I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Rome!

Absolutely fantastic! The location is great, you can reach most of the attractions on foot, but you also are a bit away from the bustle of the city. The hotel is in the old villa, a former monastery, therefore has a very special atmosphere. It even has a chapel in the building and an inner garden with a number of chairs and tables where you can take your breakfast in the morning. Jasmin was in blossom when we stayed, so we enjoyed the nice smell and the beauty of blossoms. The botanical garden is right behind the building, so birds come in flocks and it is so very enjoyable. The staff is great and very friendly. They sent us a useful list of very attractive tratorias in the neighbourhood, where food was amazing, and helped with taxis. The room facilities were basic with a private outside bathroom, which worked very well in fact. It was only slightly inconvenient. What I did not expect at all was to find a bath robe in the room. Go figure...

I liked everything about the hotel. The only inconvenience that one may encounter is ordering a taxi- apparently it is quite a challenge in Rome. Uber is unreliable.

Loved this location - old, historic, lively and still quaint. It was on "the other side of the river" from "central Rome/proper", so it gave you a nice respite from the big crowds in central Rome around all the big tourist highlights. The hotel was simple, functional (a former convent) and a super value. We are people that do not require fancy, so this met our needs completely at an excellent price. The garden was lovely, a beautiful place to gather your thoughts and plan your daily excursions.

A little cafe in the facility would have been perfect, to enjoy a light meal in that lovely garden!

We chose Villa Riari because of the 24/7 reception, and were thankful we did so after arriving from FCO at 01:20! Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a tap and sink to brush our teeth without needing to use the external private bathroom. Our external bathroom was down the corridor and was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. The location of Villa Riari was perfect, with a short walk into Rome's touristy suburbs as well as plenty of food and drink options within Trastevere itself. The reception provided many recommendations for restaurants to try and we were delighted with the option that we chose. The morning sandwiches, pastries, juice and coffee were also a lovely added touch, enjoyed in the peaceful garden where you wouldn't know that you were in the heart of Rome.

The sliding door of our shower was a bit loose, which meant that some shower water splashed onto the bathroom floor, making a little more mess than needed.

The beautiful, quiet location - an oasis of calm walking distance from busy Trastevere and central Rome. The garden is beautifully peaceful. Breakfast of fresh pastries and espresso - a lovely surprise. Comfortable beds, impeccably clean room. And the staff were absolutely wonderful, very kind and hospitable. Grazie Alessandra and Raffaello.

The bathroom in our room had no airflow, so was very warm. We were prepared there would be no air conditioning (our room had an effective ceiling fan) - something to keep in mind. The rooms on the first floor have metal bars in the window. For us no problem as we felt comfortable leaving the windows open all day.
