Good location. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is an excellent place to stay in for someone looking to explore Rome especially those interested in walking- most places are a 30 minute walk. For someone looking to just find a place to relax, it is a great place as well- lots of little nooks to sit and read a book while having coffee or a drink.

We stayed 4 nights - the beds were always made up but there was increasing amount of dust on the floor and it looked like it was not being vacuumed after the check in. Not really a complaint but an observation.

Absolutely gorgeous property! The courtyard dining area was awesome. The view from the terrace was outstanding. The entire hotel was just beautiful. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. We had the tasting menus at the restaurant and we’re delighted with everything. And the service was just wonderful. I can totally recommend this hotel.

Not a thing! They even managed to host a wedding during our last night there with minimal disruption to the regular guests. The only bad part was leaving them. We would have happily stayed much longer if our schedule permitted.

We stayed for 7 nights. It is a beautifully presented historical place. I am glad we chose to stay. A couple of points to keep in mind if you are considering booking. It is outside of the Rome CBD and Historical areas. We used taxis to get in and out of town and that worked well. Cab fares are ok generally. There are plenty of bars restaurants and boutique shops nearby. The hotel restaurant and bar service are very good. The hotel staff were excellent. Breakfasts were good. Check out the beautiful chapel. The shower in our suite was in a large bath. Getting in and out of the shower could be an issue if you have mobility problems so it would pay to check what sort of shower arrangements your room has before booking, if you are a bit on the shakey side. This wasnt a problem for us. If I were to visit Rome again I would want to stay at the Donna Camille. Thanks to the wonderful staff for helping make our stay a memorable one.

I couldnt fault it.

I loved the location of this hotel, away from the busier parts of the city. There are lovely green areas within easy walking, but also good restaurants, picturesque piazzas, and interesting streets to wander. As for the hotel itself, the public spaces were lovely, the gallery lounge area with vaulted ceilings was stunning, and we loved the beautiful courtyard garden where we sat and had drinks before dinner. The courtyard was also a nice place to simply sit and recoup at any time of day. One day, due to ongoing work, breakfast was served in the gorgeous refectory. That was a treat! Breakfasts were very good, with lots of choices. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Don't miss the chapel located in the hotel!

The actual room accommodations were rather basic and somewhat dated. The room was small but adequate. There was no place to keep luggage off the floor. The paint and furnishings could use some attention. I didn't hear voices from the adjoining room but, strangely, I did hear snoring. The bathroom was large and appeared very clean, but there was a mildew smell, maybe from the drains? Toward the end of our stay the hotel hosted some sort of conference or meeting. Hotel staff appeared to be stretched very thin accommodating those attendees as well as regular guests.

breakfast was great, room was good in size but considering it was a monastery, of course it does not have the largest windows. location was great, just walking distance from many restaurants, bars and cafes. Especially the courtyard is a great place to relax, have breakfast or dinner. The kitchen is very well too. There is also parking as well as 24 hours reception. But the most important of all is the people; all personnel was super friendly, kind and helpful in all domains of hospitality. We also had an unlucky incident where our baby got fever and they helped us in many scenarios where we felt we are not alone. Thanks for all of it!

All was great.

I loved my accommodations - especially the room I had for the second leg of my trip. I stayed in a room with a balcony for two nights upon arriving in Rome then I checked out to travel to Tuscany for a few days before returning to Rome for a week. The third floor room I stayed in this time was much larger with a small desk, seating area and an oversized window with shutters. The king size bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet. The bathroom featured a window and a glass-enclosed, step-in shower which I loved. The staff is professional and service is exceptional. The hotel was once a monastery and original artwork, religious artifacts and original chapel remain, adding to the beautiful, historic aesthetic. There’s even a Roman cave underneath the hotel where nuns would store wine and where Jews were hidden during WWII. You need to ask the front desk for a tour of this! The rooftop terrace offers stunning views of Rome. The hotel’s complimentary breakfast has a lot to offer including delicious cappuccinos. I enjoyed the breakfast every day before heading out to explore the city. They offered options for gluten-free and vegan, too. I found the location in lively Trastevere to be very convenient as I walked everywhere. It was about a 25 minute walk to Vatican City, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Colosseum, Testaccio, the scenic lookout in Gianicolo. I felt safe walking to/from this hotel and staying here solo. There are plenty of options to eat, drink, shop and people-watch within steps of the hotel. It was a fabulous place to return to at the end of each day and a wonderful place to wake up every morning. I actually cried when I had to say goodbye to this place!

Very picturesque hotel in the centre of Trastevere. A converted convent, it oozes charm and sophistication. Rooms are very well appointed and large with big windows to the courtyards below. We loved the central garden for breakfast and evening drinks, and Ian’s tour of the historic cellars. Happy and professional staff Grazie!

The aircon in our rooms did not cope and we were always a little hot. There was nothing the staff could do to help unfortunately. Also only having one room key was a nuisance and we were constantly ringing to have the door opened. A second key would be a big help. Finally the rooftop terrace is a gorgeous spot. The hotel has a big opportunity to serve drinks and snacks up there each evening. At least a self serve station would be welcome. We all commented that a swimming pool would make this place perfect after a long day walking and exploring Rome.

Old convent, full of charm. Superb location just outside of the hustle and bustle of Trastevere, but close enough to walk to loads of sights, restaurants, the river, etc. Lovely chapel which is happy to welcome guests to daily Mass, along with beautiful and well-maintained garden (mind the pigeons however). Enough cannot be said about the staff, who were without exception all friendly and exceedingly helpful.

It's a repurposed convent...everything is made of stone and reverberates. Rooms either have windows facing the outside (so street noise) or garden/interior courtyard (so reflecting anything said or done in them). But there's nothing to be done about this - just get up early and enjoy the garden! Or the rooftop terrace, which has a great view but feels like it could benefit from a bit more attention.

In the heart of Trastevere. Beautiful hotel, very elegant. Beautiful grounds- wonderful breakfast. The staff very accommodating. A great menu- we ate a couple of times in the outdoor garden- great food! Super clean, clean modern bathrooms in elegant rooms. Superb pillows- I like a lot of them and there were more than enough.

Only thing, I booked a larger room for me and my travel companion- because there were two of us the Hotel put us in a much smaller room. I showed them my booking and they moved us the next day to the larger room I had paid for- they would not refund me the difference because I had booked on this website . That was annoying- when I checked in they should have mentioned that then I could have cleared it up right then.

Beautiful hotel in old monastery. The church is actually in the building too. The location is perfect close to bars and restaurants but far enough away to get a quiet night's rest. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and staff was really friendly.

We were on the top floor and the room was really hot (in February) because of all the heatings in hallways being blazing hot and all the hot air goes to the top floor. I have mentioned this 2 times to the staff and they sent in someone to check our room but they couldn't do anything about it. The fan or airconditioning was not working because of winter and we could only turn on the heat. Not wat we needed. So we slept with the doors wide open and even then it was warm in the room.
