When visiting a few years ago I saw this hotel and said we’ll come back and stay here. It didn’t disappoint. Fantastic location right in the heart of San Gimignano, you can’t get any closer to the main areas. Very helpful and friendly staff who assistance went above and beyond. An early check in and help with transport for elderly parents was much appreciated. The room on the top floor overlooking the city square was beautiful. Despite the room overlooking the square we didn’t hear any noise. Breakfast provides for every dietary requirements and was tasty. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Loved everything

My room is clean, the size is adequate. The view is beautiful looking out the countryside despite the sight of a tall crane working on a tall building close by. The staffs are friendly. The location is central and is close to everything. The walking paths outside the city wall is close by, the view of the tuscany countryside, the rolling hills and the fog, it's feast for the eyes. This hotel is perfect in terms of its comfort, price, friendliness, and location. I had the best time staying there in San gimignano. Oh I get to see sunrise too. It's beautiful.

I was there 3 nights, sometimes I felt a bit humid in the room and hence a mild musty smell when I closed the window and turned on air-conditioning when it's dark out. The walking route to the hotel from bus stop is about 5 min, dragging a heavy luggage is quite difficult, it''ll be about 10 min or more due to the uneven stoned pavement and a slight incline. There's no taxi in San gimignano, only private hires which the hotel can certainly help to get one if you need it.

What a fantastic hotel! Incredible location, overlooking the square is perfect for a magical vacation, and the hospitality and service matched the beauty of the hotel. The hotel is directly in the middle of the town, so everything is easily accessible from that location. We had a lot of rain, so it was great to be able to get back to the hotel quickly if we needed to. The staff was great about helping with parking directions, the breakfast was excellent and we absolutely loved this charming hotel. We'd go back in a heartbeat and can't recommend this Hotel Leon Bianco enough!

We loved San Gimignano and the location of the hotel was perfect - in the square, but quiet. The room was a little basic (but we really can’t complain given the price!) but clean, comfortable and roomy. We had a garden view which was great as we overlooked the stunning countryside. The staff were lovely - very accommodating, polite and professional. If (when!) we return to San Gimignano, we would definitely stay at Leon Bianco.

We felt that the breakfast was disappointing- a bit basic, not a great or wide selection and as a vegetarian, there wasn’t a great deal of choice.

Perfect location in the center of San Gimignano. It’s a beautiful historic property with modern amenities. Our room and bathroom were large and comfortable. We had a lovely view of the hills in the distance (room 40); photo attached. We asked for a quiet room, so we were on the back corner of the hotel which was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast for 12 euros per person was well worth the cost. There were plenty of choices and the food was very good. If we return to San Gimignano we will definitely stay here again!

Location on the main square was so special! The staff was so kind and helpful- they spoke English well. Our family room was spacious. Loved having a separate room for the kids as well as their separated twin beds. Loved looking over the rolling hills in the primary bedroom. Hot shower. Good breakfast.

The upper floors are a little maze. But easy enough to find your room and breakfast room after the first time searching. The hot tub was in the breakfast area so not the best location for relaxing, but is a nice amenity to offer.

Lovely old building, beautifully restored. Large comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Except for the black mould in the shower. Needs attention! We had requested a room at the back, so it was very quiet. Though in April, after 22:00, all of San Gimignano is quiet. Nice view of the countryside from the room. This was our third visit to San Gimignano. Previously, we’ve stayed across the square at La Cisterna which is also excellent. However, Lion Bianco was better value this time. Definitely recommended and we would certainly return.

The only niggle was the AC which worked perfectly but emitted a constant buzzing sound. White noise really, but I had to turn it off in the middle of the night when I couldn’t get back to sleep.

We enjoyed our stay here in a room that looked over the valley rather than on the square. We chose this room as it was quieter and had large opening windows and lounge chairs to enjoy the view from. The bathroom was roomy for European standards and also had an opening window which is a bonus. The rooms were freshened each day. The hotel is well located on the square in the centre of San Gimingnano and we were able to drive into the hotel (follow directions from the hotel, not google maps) to drop off luggage and then park in carpark #3 which was a relatively easy 10 minute walk back to hotel. We were able to do the same to pick up luggage when we left. We happened to be in San Gimingnano on the weekend of the medieval festival, so the valley view rooms were definitely quieter than the ones onto the square, but fun to see all the activities related to the festival. We drove out during the day to wine tastings and other villages and returned in the evening when it was quieter. Especially enjoyed La Guardestelle winery for a wine tasting and lunch but do book. The breakfast at Leon Banco was typical European style and we were able to enjoy being out on the covered terrace. We only ate here once as we did feel it was expensive and we enjoyed trying other cafes rather than eating in the hotel, but handy and definitely adequate if you prefer to eat in. The hotel helped us to book a couple of places for dinner which were both excellent - La Vecchie Mira, an outdoor dining terrace with lovely meal and Dulcisinfundo, a family run restaurant with good food and a nice atmosphere. Divinorum Wine Bar is also a good spot for a late afternoon aperitif with valley views. We had booked a dinner at Fattoria Poggio Alloro farmstead where we enjoyed this shared tables experience with lovely views back to San G. Plenty to do if you enjoy wineries and food around this area.

Couldn't be a better location. The hotel has a view on the main piazza. Room was nice, high ceiling, curtains to block out sun. There were even chairs at the window, for a nice view of the main piazza in the evening with a glass of wine. Didn't get the breakfast so no review on that.

The shower doesn't have a door that closes completely. With the unexpected surprisingly high pressure of the shower, the bathroom floor got very wet and slippery.

Incredible location, right on one of the main squares. Rooms were comfortable with all the necessary facilities. We booked two rooms, one was slightly smaller but had an incredible view. Staff very friendly, I was able.to borrow an adaptor plug when mine didn't fit to socket. Is handy to be able to drive right up to hotel and drop bags, we then parked in P2 car park which was very reasonably priced and a short walk away. Would definitely recommend.
