The hotel was lovely from our arrival to our departure. Every staff member that we encountered was fantastic with the exception of Francesco in the dining room who was double fantastic.

The location of the hotel was very good for us as train travelers, may be 7-8min on foot from the train station in Sorrento it was also not far from the city centre, may be 10min walk, easy we had a double-room with a balcony, looking over the pool, therefore we had a nice view and it was also rather quiet, we only heard the train from time to time value for money was pretty decent as we only paid 126 EUR including the city tax (incl. breakfast, 2 pax) the room was also spacious friendly staff at breakfast, it was no problem to order a Cappuchino or Espresso or tea which they served to your table (no extra charge)

the hotel is a bit worn down, everything seemed to be a bit old, not quite up to the standard for a 4* hotel in the bathroom the shower was really small, just enough for 1 person and the shower head also quite old & small the breakfast had a lot of different choices but the quality we found wasn't all that great, particularly the available drinks were not good at all (juice was whether fresh nor tasted accordingly just colored & sugared water), the coffee from the self-service area / machine was not drinkable (only the one you had to order extra - it was included though)

Hotel is in immaculate condition, rooms are clean and are cleaned well every day. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Dinner is a set menu which is fine because of the type of hotel and establishment it is. However, more choice to cater to all would be better.

Had an amazing stay at Michelangelo! Value for money was great, location was great, rooms were very comfortable, the food at the restaurant was impressively delicious and the staff was so lovely. A massive shoutout to the restaurant staff that were restless every single day! Being a vegan myself, eating outside is always a problem, however, they have always accommodated my requests and made sure that there were options for me every single day. They make the best tomato sauce I’ve ever had, I still think about the pasta with tomato sauce I had there sometimes 😂 They have also got me a cake on my birthday night without neither me or my husband mentioning anything, which was extremely thoughtful and kind. We‘ve travelled around 3 different places in Italy, this one was, by far, the best one! Great location, close to the beach, restaurants, shops, bars, supermarket and train station! I’m so happy I’ve decided to stay in Sorrento and not in Positano! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!!

The bedrooms in the annex building are better than in the main building, main building definitely needs a revamp. Cleaning was good but not great. The pool isn’t great but it’s better than something and, again, you get what you pay for. (On the other hand, the jacuzzi on the top floor was incredible). I also wished there was more fresh fruits on the breakfast buffet. Nevertheless, I’d still book the same place if I had to do it again.

Hotel in a perfect location in the centre of Sorrento. Staff is super friendly, you're welcomed with a smile. Room was wonderful. Ours was right next to the train tracks and I initally worried I would hear the noise, but the room is extremely well sound-proofed, I couldn't hear a thing. There were bathroom amenities, a safe, even slippers. Everything you need. Breakfast was abundant and the breakfast room staff also couldn't be faulted. Very very service/customer-oriented. Breakfast had a huge selection of sweet, savoury, fresh fruit, crudites, yoghurts, you name it. We used the pool a lot, nice and cold and we were always the only ones in/by the water. The actual 'beaches' (not really beaches, more wooden raised constructions with ladders down to the water) at Sorrento tend to be full (and are very pricey, entrance with sunbed was 19 euro per person, sun umbrella another 16 euro), so make use of the hotel pool!

Only comment I would make is about the wooden chair in the room. The floors are tiled, so every time someone in the room above us moved the chair (and they moved it a lot, also at night), it scraped the floor. Very noisy. Easy solution: put a few of those little stick-on pads under each leg of the chair.

just a couple of minutes walk from both the train station and the centre of town. The hotel is big but we found the staff friendly -especially in the restaurant at breakfast time. As we went out of season we booked the annex but got upgraded to the main hotel which I guess is rather nicer.

The dining room is rather over-bright - I wouldn't choose it for an evening meal even if the food were great, just because of the size and brightness. At breakfast time if you ask for coffee you get a jug of pretty unpleasant stuff - we realised after a couple of days that Italian guests just asked for a cappuccino etc and got a single cup of nice coffee rather than a large amount of something unpleasant!

Where do I start? Our 3rd visit to Sorrento, 1st time staying at the Hotel Michelangelo and the best yet. We loved everything about the hotel. There's was nothing to not like. The location is perfect. Not only is it close to the amazing Pizza Franco's (check the constant queues on an evening if you need evidence), to only a short walk into the heart of Sorrento and its shops, restaurants, Lido's and marina's. The hotel bar staff, on level 5 (Ugo, Aldo, Anna and the whole team), the restaurant (Francesco, Frederico, Pina and the rest of the team), the housekeeping and the reception (Claudia, Carmine and the rest). True professionals, each and every one. There are too many people to mention. We met not one team member who didn't help to make our stay even better. If we haven't mentioned you, we apologise, as you all deserve a mention. All perfect. A credit to the hotel. We stayed on a full board basis. Breakfast was plentiful and more than enough choice. Dinner was Al a carte, with a choice of starter, main, and dessert. All the food at the hotel was great, the service was always top-notch, and everyone was attentive. All superb. So good, for the first time ever, we didn't visit Pizza Franco's. Any negative reviews, dont believe them. I read one where a person complained about the air conn. They turned it up to 24° and expected it to cool? Seriously? We turned ours DOWN to 5°. Guess what? Lovely and cool. Rooms were clean and spacious. And very comfy beds. There was even entertainment on the rooftop terrace, 3 nights. Really good. Book with confidence. We have, before we left, for 2024. 5 star+ stay.

This isn't a dislike, just something that made us smile a little and just our thoughts. If I had to mention anything, the lighting in the dining room for breakfast was white and bright. Which is great, perfect for breakfast or lunch. For dinner, it was still white and very bright. Just the same. I would suggest a little low-level, subdued, lighting might be better, create some athmosphere, and match the excellent food served. This is very minor, and if it isn't changed, it's not a problem. It's still a 5 star+ stay.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The furniture around the hotel was stunning.I would recommend this hotel.

The room that we were given was not the room I had paid for.It was very small, and it had no balcony, and it just had a screen outside separating it from the pool. I paid the extra money to have a balcony. The receptionist on the front desk was able to move us to a better room with a balcony, which was lovely, but it was overlooking the train tracks, but we didn't mind that I do feel sometimes that when you book through booking .com, you don't always get the rooms that you actually have paid for, especially when you have paid the extra money for an upgrade and facilities, etc .

A large, comfortable, cozy and clean hotel. The breakfast is excellent and full of good things - as you can expect from a hotel and not a B&B. The room is not big but comfortable. Good location - a few minutes walk from the train station and the city center and the area of shops, restaurants and the harbor from which the cruise to Capri departs (requires a long descent down the stairs from the city's main square). The hotel has a pool that looked cute but we didn't have a chance to use it.

They have parking for €20 per day. Because they don't respond to messages in the Booking message system, we didn't know this and already parked in a private parking lot near the train for the same price (just a few minutes' walk). In retrospect, I'm happy that this is what we did because I think it's wrong that they require guests to pay extra for parking, but should provide it included in the price to hotel guests as part of all their services.

The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and excellent service. A good hotel in the middle of Sorrento, perfect for getting out on the train and buses.

We were transferred to another hotel, Grand Hotel Vesuvius, for our first two nights due to problems at the Michelangelo. Situation was great, lovely room, great view however, the food was appalling. We made the mistake of eating in on the first evening, it was like a bad school dinner, dreadful. We were very pleased we weren’t on a package tour there. On the plus side, Claudia at the Michelangelo arranged for us to be collected from the boat and had our luggage transferred to the Michelangelo too. A bottle of Prosecco was left for us there and our rooms were lovely.
